Resource Redistribution Update

This post is correct in one aspect. There needs to be a limit to the abuse smaller groups take from bigger corps in hi-sec. Other than that the concept of lowering someones QOL because they don’t want to be killed all the time by previously established groups of people with better ships in order to even begin to make enough to progress through the content the game offers is an aweful notion of short sitedness. This thinking will kill this game.

Yes, having been one of the people getting cleansed, since my corp was aligned with Rangers at the time, I remember Aridia quite well. I also remember that most of the people who were out there with me got pissed off and left the game, most of whom, permanently.

Not close by a large margin. Most ship isk is tied up in Sov Null, incredibly huge iron mountains and constant demand for new ships to complete with some abstract idea of some major pvp engagement with another huge pile owned by another SOV alliance that for many years seldom if ever happens–even now in the hot phase of one of the largest wars in years. Of course these iron mountains don’t take much effort to maintain, or game resources aside from finding a place to dock them. Also, though CCP will never tell, attrition probably accounts for more disappearing ships than combat ever will, even the most active large groups in the game only have a tiny fraction of players that engage in pvp. Will this shift in resources change all this?–I doubt it, though I’m almost always a fan of mixing things up, miners will adapt and part of LS that haven’t had any population for years might become attractive places to carve out an existence and places to hunt. It will be fun.

So here it is, from my (now RL) old guy perspective. Eve Online is unique. It’s a true sandbox. Set in the vastness of space it is both brutal and benign; every way you choose to play has been involving and always more about knowledge and experience than the pure trigger-speed and ephemeral experience of most games. This is, in my experience, a completely unique, involving and, honestly, wonderful at times, invention of Eve Online.

It’s also why so many of us are so passionate about our own version of how this thing captured us within its web.

CCP have really captured the ultimate essence of an MMO that spans generations…and yet, of course I guess, that somehow isn’t enough.

For instance, I was thrilled when a new Gate-Warp sequence appeared…for about two glorious hours. I’ve been playing the game, with one Toon or another, since 2007 and I thought it was great. Then, of course, the 0/0 brigade, amongst others, complained that it had changed their timing on ganks.

Within literally two hours, CCP responded. Firstly they removed the offending animated sequence. BUT also, for those of you tragics who protested like me, they promised that it would be back real soon, as soon as they’d ironed out a couple of flaws.

To this day, the gate-warp animatic has not reappeared. Everyone in Null and Losec: eg long-time players (myself excepted btw) were grateful. BUT pleeese! If this wonderful, crazy thing is going to survive then we simply MUST entice new players, just so a tiny percentage of them get to understand why Eve can be almost life-changing. So the front door has to be a bit of a honey-trap. Mining is a huge part of that. I know that from present and lapsed member of my own tiny corp.

Sorry, got a bit a bit carried away there…just a bit passionate about this brilliant but fragile galaxy.

sorry…got a bit distracted there…I have made comments about the new resource dynamic in other posts…maybe time for a cup of tea and a lie-down lol.

There are tons of ways to make isk for a new player and mining isn’t even close to being the best one.
However, with these changes I believe that mining in high sec will actually become more profitable because the big null blocks will have to buy lots of titanium from the trade hubs which will push up the price which in turn benefits high sec miners.

This whole idea is a moot point.
HS miners live in HS not because its partucularly lucrative but because its safe. For LS to compete with HS’s 100% mining uptime and maxed out efficiency you must either increase LS output to a ridiculous degree (at which point it gets immediately occupied by a blue donuts) or nerf HS to the ground (and deal with people leaving the game entirely)

The only thing you might do is to compensate for the lack of concord in LS somehow - for example improve on counters to warp scramblers (i.e. make warpstabs work already!)

@CCP_Dopamine I have a serious question about the devblog that I hope you might clarify.

According to the Devblog Spodumain will still contain 48000 Tritanium but I can’t see Spodumain mentioned as an Ore type being removed from Nullsec or being added anywhere else even though it also says that Tritanium will be excluded from Null?

So does this mean that Spodumain will now be an exclusive high sec ore? Will it be an exclusive triglavian ore or will it still be around in Null?
If still around in null, will you then change where it spawns? Because as of now it doesn’t spawn in Gallente space null.

Thanks!

In this new age I will be feeling better about stuff. Like…eve…it’s not hard. This is synonymous statement if anything with player vs their own loophholes through such things…find one? Have a team finding wh’s to get to fields of ore you need? idk…i reverse engineer ships…good luck Go watch clarion call or another video for inspiration

LS won’t have to compete with HS mining anymore. Each area in and of itself has minerals exclusive to those areas and due to that fact LS miners will have an automatic market and it’ll be valuable just for that fact. Since LS is now 100% necessary for mining there will be groups that’ll develop to specialize for mining there.

Yes you could of had my stuff, however, I asked the entities behind “my stuff” and they said they don’t want you.

My stuff will operate in sympathetic resonance. They will rot along with the rest of this game

Makes a complete mockery of the story of eve, how could the 4 empires exist if there was no resources. its more like high sec will be held to ransom by low and Null as many from high sec cannot venture into the other without significant loss.

There was a time when those with low standings didn’t survive the venture into high sec, and likewise a trip into low sec was not always camped.

Many high sec industrialists are not AFK miners, and we contribute a significant amount to the market or did.
Jita and Amarr are now cut off as a safe route and those markets have fallen significantly already due to the trigv invasions

Paying accounts now cancelled and No you cannot have my stuff , it will be mothballed till this nonsense sorts itself out or the game ends.

The smell of CCPFozzie is in the air…

Ditto. I am a paying omega player and enjoy paying to support a game thats not focused on social programming for the wretched. Those days are done here unless a new team with their heads not in their azz’s saves this game from the local landfill dump.

I guess we’ll see…Popcorn incoming…and will share
