Resource Redistribution Update

Minerals are not the only thing items are made from. The supply of other products has not changed and not all mineral prices will change by the same. This means higher income for miners will mean higher purchasing power. P.s. It’s not inflation. It’s a change in supply causing a rise in price of specific commodities.

The people this is actually bad for is the ratters, but even then they just do one more mission or anom and they are fine. This is not a big deal change. EVE has been here before.

I don’t know why people complain here, CCP don’t care about your opinions, they just will do what they want.

Meh I will just go back to mining for profit instead of building stuff.

Shame though, the lack of small scale producers will put more power into the bigger alliances.

Edit: that’s if they don’t mess around with the trigs sites.

I think most people know that. It means this is all little more than venting tbh. The same goes for Reddit.

Well human nature will result in thus:

Nullsec corps will activate their HS alts and flush the little guys out of business. There will be large transport fleets back to Nullsec with adequate protection. The hoarding will just be moved to that space. There won’t be any industrialists left to supply new players which will be stuck in the tutorial ships, get frustrated and leave like they did in droves when this was how ORE use to work.

Now you want these HS industrialists and Miners to move to LS space and hope that Nullsec will bother transporting their exclusive ORE to HS for trade. That’s a big gamble a very big gamble.

Maybe Mining ships should have some kind of Anti tackling traits that gives them at least a chance to get out of Dodge when mining in LS. You know make the gankers actually work for a kill? Instead you will be instalocked and vaporized pretty quick. Of course then you are still relying on Nullsec’s willingness to trade with HS/LS instead of just doing mass mining excursions and hoard.

I suppose it could work, but I am not sure that it will. I would be wondering whats coming next.

Wade, we have been here done this… 2003 to 2008 or so the minerals were region based. If you wanted Meg/Zyd you had no choice but to head to Null. Anom’s were not around, no moon mineral extras, just the start ore types that have been around since the beginning.

This yet another reinvention of the wheel by CCP who didn’t learn the first time.

Sorry to say that, to be honest. CCP doesn’t know what the “f” they are doing is the nice way to say it.

So you’ve wanted people to hold sov in areas now you want us to roam to where we can find rocks we need even tho you’ve cut there worth to ■■■■. Don’t feel like roaming in a mining ship and have to have a hauler to carry across the universe. Just another dumb move by people who don’t care about the game. this is no fix just another death sentence to the game.

The big alliances must be loving this.

Nullsec they control the space.
Lowsec they control the space.
Highsec push out the little guys to control the market and production in their structures.

Win win for the big boys

Yep. This is what I don’t get about this. This was done before to a large degree … it was the original distribution model, largely. It didn’t really make the hisec players leave hisec then and it likely won’t now.

The only thing that will make hisec players leave hisec is getting rid of hisec (ie, no more police, no more system security, everything is nullsec), thereby deleting the hisec players from the game, because what keeps hisec players in hisec is their desire to maximally lower their exposure to certain kinds of gameplay, not the actual “risk/reward” ratio. Changes to that ratio won’t make players leave hisec.

CCP doesn’t seem to understand this.

alot of hisec are new players, ya got to give them time to get used to the game. And alot of players have hisec alts or stuff stored in hisec they don’t want to lose

i agree hisec care bares will still be care bears they may just change to mission runnig and reprossing and never go losec and null sec will have the same affect in ratting but have buy bks so actually will affect nothing and losec who gose there anyway than fac warfare or ppl going to there home space

Towards the end of the most horrific year in a long row of rotten years: CCP: “The users need some escapism from all this. We must give them…more conflict!”

was that sarcasm

Actually this is a good point, I have been carefully watching my missions more closely for minerals. I am not sure how CCP thinks this “secondary resource source” will be good either.

It seems a little bonkers to me.

Yet, Benda is a hard to get item normally it will nearly be impossible. Besides the other Abyssal mineables in Abyssal space.

You have a chance. D-scan, local, escorts. You don’t need even more defenses to make up for your refusal to use the ones you have.

Exactly. I want more escapist conflict, less slogging through a boring job and worrying about real-world covidiots. Imaginary internet spaceship wars are way more interesting than menial mostly-AFK grinding.

All these changes on Ccp behalf are only to make you buy more plex so you can afford more items , the csm were not involved with this change because ccp did not talk to them about it ?

I’ve always thought what is the point of the csm if ccp does not correspond with them there just no point for csm to be in the game

  • its simple they want to reduce your inventory by making everything in the game super expensive , that way you have less isk and this in turn will make you buy more plex to afford toys , or it will cause mass reduction in players base

Escorts are a joke idea. The mechanics of EVE do not support escorts as a viable thing. Only self escorting is viable, as in stuff which carries firepower & mines (Even if it’s not full combat ship firepower)
Your other points, sure, no disagreement, miners do have tools

@Sedah_Hazen Venture does, use Venture for LS if you want that.

Both ways are possible. The mantra that conflict drives all gameplay is just dogma; there’s plentry of ways to make a game interesting for pvp’ers and carebears alike. PVE need not be afk grind. That’s a dev choice.

No, it’s an inherent problem with the persistent-world MMO concept. PvE will always be boring as hell.

The only reason these changes upset me is because of the pain involved with moving minerals around. I’d like to see better options for it, particularly into and out of wormholes. Being able to compress actual minerals (not just ore) would go a long way toward removing my anger. The trade might make for an interesting dynamic as long as they sort out the highsec issues around acquiring minerals for young industrialists.

On a related note, while reading through all of this mess, I’ve seen a lot of extremely unpleasant people in here that don’t know how to talk to other human beings without being abrasive. So here’s a helpful PSA:

  1. On this forum, go into your preferences.
  2. Under the ‘Notifications’ section click on ‘Users’
  3. Add everyone who is being a jerk to the ‘Ignored’ list forever.
  4. Profit by cutting these toxic jerks out of your life forever.

Hope it helps!
