This will result in just the opposite of what CCP is expecting. Null sec mega corps and their alliances will shrug this off and go invading low and high sec areas. Medium sized corps might cope, although they will have a hard time against said mega corps.
Small corps, lone warriors and beginners will lose out big time. This is NOT what makes a game healthy, unless you want everyone to start buying more Plex, which will finally turn this game into a “pay to win” machine.
Not good, CCP. Not good at all. This will RUIN your game, not “revitalise” the economy.
lol player numbers dropped like a rock, it took a pandemic and the biggest war ever in the game to bring it back up. And soon they will drop off again. CCP want’s a microtransaction fueled game and just doesn’t care about loyalty to the players.
I would like to ask you guys:
So who of you is going to try move to a nullsec spot that is close to low sec to have the best of both worlds?
Also how do ratters and wormhole guys feel becuase their income is fixed to pure isk so this means after this changes the miners will be making more value/h becuase all the ores will cost more while everyone will pay more for things?
If anything the intelligent miner will be smiling right now.
Not true at all we have 8-10 people active and love this change, we hope the null groups come closer to low sec because atm low is boring as hell and has very little activity it would be amazing to have more huge alliances close by to skirmish against and shoot.
New player here. I had no idea this was happening, because I really don’t have the lay of the land yet. I had come to the forums to see what the huge fleets of NPC miners hoovering up all the asteroids in High Sec was all about.
So I’m not sure I see the big picture here, and I’m hoping some veteran players can explain, please.
So if Tritanium is the backbone of Industry, and now it is restricted to High Sec, will player corporations from Null Sec be sending their mining fleets into High Sec now?
Will that put them at odds with NPC mining fleets?
I’m kind of ok with that. I’d like to see them go poof. Yesterday i had to go down to a 0.5 system to find an asteroid field with a single asteroid in it. I don’t know if that is normal or not.
I guess overall I’m interested to find out what impact these changes will make on a new player like me.
Should I stop training skills going towards an exhumer? At least until this all settles down, or resolves itself? That’s 42 days of training I can put towards something else.
Null sec players will more than likely just set up alt corp’s in high sec to get 40% of their trite needs and buy the rest.
Miners will do the math and realize that if they go to low sec their isk/hour will go up but when they leave then there is less supply of high sec ore mainly trite and trite prices will go up so in the end it will all balance out so tbh all mining space will be pretty good you will just have to do some math and see whats the best options at the time.
While there is some truth in this is going back to the system of 2013 it is not totally true, this is actually a harder version of that system. Still it is a very brave thing to do because over production has effectively destroyed Eve as a game.
I am taking a break from Eve due to biased forum moderation and the Quantum Cores (if they were just applied to tethering and external repairs that would be an awesome change), and more importantly the release date of a game I am really keen to get into. But when I come back in May 2021 I believe that this is game that will perhaps be more suited to me then what it had turned into, but it will still have some ways to go.
It’s the same basic principle though, and we’ve had mining ship buffs since then. So, harder on paper if you look at just ores, but easier due to mining ship buffs. Overall I expect it to be fairly similar picture.
Also whine less about forum moderation, it’s not biased, I see everyone getting slapped down, unless you really want the ISD to go ban happy it’s not going to go very far past wrist slapping.
If eve could get back to where it was even before 2013 it would be amazing, this whole idea people have in their heads of if people don’t have much they won’t fight much is very wrong as those of us that have played and have knowledge of how the game was since 2003 realize that its the total opposite and that the game is a lot more fun without abundance.
I had already done that. I had positioned myself just so I could take advantage of both zones to manufacture modules, ammo and ships. I had bought ships and module to do both mining and PvP, a billion isk worth of stuff so I could do BOTH and support both.
But I’m NOT going to roam around ALL THREE zones just to keep doing what I had planned. More roaming means more chances of getting popped. More roaming means more time wasted to do the same thing. And roaming around all three zones in a Retriever, Venture or Tyra ? Don’t make me laugh…
The thing of it is, I’m not angry because they decided to move the ore around.
I’m disappointed by CCP’s dismissive attitude towards players in favor of the pursuit of cold hard cash. I get it, it’s a business but good businessmen listen to their customers and act in a way NOT detrimental to their customers. Good businessmen don’t jeopardize their survival by trying things out without proper feedback from their customers.
And don’t anybody tell me EVE isn’t real life. I’ve paid real life money to play it, I’ve spent real life time to participate and now, with my plans shot to sh!t, it’s a real life disappointment with real life repercussions.
I LOVE this game. Sadly, I cannot justify the money I’m spending in it when I compare the expenditures vs the entertainment value. It’s as simple as that.
mining is so fundamental in eve that making such changes seems very risky to me. This will impact a lot of aspects of the game. No one can really predict what it will look like. and above all from the pollitic point of view. Who know, the big alliances may be interested in extending their power over the Whs and Ls. Not to mention organizations like CODE. “pay to mine in hs or suffer a war” will make even more sense. Being a small or medium corporation or alliance would become very complicated and could decrease the interest of some player for eve.
The paradigm has always been, the more you risk, the more you can earn. I come to wh and this information just broke all the plans we had made. If pvp is the only thing eve wants to offer me, then I would go to warzone, it s less frustrating.
I doubt it. The only changes they want to make are geared towards hurting the little solo player so he has to spend MORE real-life money to continue playing ON TOP of the monthly payments.
The agents’ missions are already obsolete and don’t help a newbro for nothing: mediocre rewards compared to the time involved, and that’s when the ship don’t blow up on mission.
How many times have I read, in the Help Chat " So… My ship blew up and i have NO ISK to buy another one!" Do you think that player is going to want to PAY for that kind of experience? Does he feel good when another bro shoots him a few millions like he’s a beggar or something? I been there. It does NOT feel good to be handed some in-game currency. Charity? In a GAME ? Really ? How embarrassing for all involved, including the Devs… Especially the Devs!
" My game is SO messed up that the players have to resort to Charity to continue playing." WOW, just wow.
The only reason I subbed was because I saw opportunity for good play time and some fun along the way, eventually. Because, let’s face it, mining isn’t FUN.
I’ve been saying that for months. Space is space, constellations are ALL constellations. Giving so-called security status to solar systems is beyond moronic but it’s another way to mess with the players, another way to justify things that would otherwise not be able to be justified.
