Resource Wars failed/scrapped already after few weeks!

honestly only reason i do resource wars is for the skins…i’m just that vane

if it wasn’t for the skins, i wouldn’t touch it with a 5km long pole. its just got no pay off, no value, and is so simplistic…like the trailer looked epic but in reality its just “mine and get it into the orca before time runs out”

and seriously…fk that timer…if you want to come in to fight the enemy npcs…then your a waste. no point to combat ships. cause the only real enemy is the timer.

They have more bot logons than ever, this game is toast dude.

oh its not even the bots, im just saying what ccp is spewing about out dead game and the people who back them up. I miss the days when we had 60k online but ccp and the new fan boys assure us that we have more logon and subs than ever we are just better spread.

trust me I don’t buy anything that ccp says anymore for quite a number of years.

Exactly my sentiments as well.

At the very least I would dump some more cosmetics into the RW shop for very high LP + low to zero ISK. It’s completely backwards right now.

The ship packages are terrible. That leaves clothes as the ideal item for grind incentive with no impact on gameplay balance.

I found out about Resource Wars today.

The ship restriction stopped me dead. I was in a Battleship when I found the icon, then I changed to my Mackinaw, and still couldn’t do this mining activity.

The SKIN reward doesn’t help. I think SKINS are pointless.

Not sure if it was a forced group activity, if so that would be another strike against it. I much prefer solo play, as do most players of all online games, no matter how insistent devs are on forcing groups.

So there you have the reasons why Resource Wars didn’t attract me.

Yup, it was definitely an attempt to force group play. It might have worked except for the fact that the rewards were just plain T1 ships and modules which after cashing in the LP’s, actually cost more than what the items sold for on the Markets.

Well, give CCP some credit. They’re trying to develop their PvE content.

Those efforts would be better appreciated if they were related to why do PvErs do PvE and not what CCP thinks that they should be doing.

Bingo!

Because they only listen to the “EVE is PVP!!! Everyone must PVP or they should be forced to PVP!!” types.

This reminds me of what it’s like to DJ.

“Change the music, nobody likes this tune, it’s ■■■■!”
::looks at the packed dance floor::
::facepalm::

I don’t do it anymore.

In my opinion PVE people will only use pickup groups when it is reliable and riskless like pickup groups in WoW. I still remembered that in the start of an expansion even 5-man heroic pickup dungeon can be seriously challenging. And that is “challenging” in WoW perspective.

The only reason RW failed is because whoever was in charge of designing the rewards went over everything they could do wrong and did it:

  • lul Bind-on-Pickup SKINS lul
  • lul no money lul
  • lul can’t use the new mineral outside the site lul

It’s like they wanted the thing to fail…

Weren’t these the ones with the terrible rewards? I mean from what I heard the only thing that made it worth doing was the skins and that was it.

Pretty much.

It’s not that terrible. The sites on completion do give a decent amount of reward, especially if you are max people and can complete the site under the lowest time limit. I think it should be around 7M per 8min of mining. for low SP players this should be correct.

Not sure about site completion reward but the ones I did I did solo and were minimal as I recall though only did a few maybe they boosted it afterwards dunno.

Here is one example (not solo btw):

Though what I want to mention is the loyalty point rewards, which… actually generated a net loss of ISK because they costed more ISK than the actual rewards had in them at market price. Thus if anyone spent ISK and LPs to get them they lost ISK. People could just buy the stuff from the market for ISK and get them cheaper, not to mention not wasting LPs nor time and effort to grind the LPs.

Not sure if this has changed ever since but this went on for far too long and basically turned everyone away from RW so even if they changed it it was far too late.

I think this is one of the main reasons it has failed. The other being the silly racial ship restrictions and some other things.

Its sort of like CQ of mining expansions. I think it was “INCARNED” but without microtransactions this time, only undelivered massively in lp store dept and gameplay complexity.
