Response to all the "anti-solo" players out there

That is very possible, tho to me it’s kinda what I mean when saying “agree to disagree”, my mastery of the english language might not be good enough to explain my point of view in more appropriate words/expressions ^^

It seem to me like our whole debate is because I was specifically speaking about having a value “for the community”, or “for the game”.

I can admit that a personnal goal can have a personnal value, but on the other hand it also seems very logical to me that, since we agree it is “personnal” value, it’s legit to say that it doesn’t hold any value for the rest of the playerbase.

You are right, it is subjective for sure. As I tried to explain in an answer to someone else on this same thread, I believe that every game mechanic, when developped, is developped with a certain purpose and expected outcome in mind, because devs are humans like you and me, and when we create something, there is always a purpose and something that we believe is the logical way to use it.

But since none of us is a dev, we can’t be sure of WHAT was the expected result in question. Which indeed leave to the conclusion that unless a dev confirm it directly, it’s subjective.

I don’t think a lot of people “care” that much. Most people have an opinion about how the game should be played, but a small amount of people “care” to the point of being in a crusade against people with a different view. They will think that this person is wrong, and move-on.

I don’t know any of them, do you have a link to a video or anything that speak about them and their achievements?

I think this whole debate revolve around the fact that I was refering to a specific kind of impact (for instance controling the map), which is to me the most valuable impact, and a lack of conscience about other kind of very legit impact that players can have.

Ironically, it probably comes down to a lack of knowledge of everything that is possible to do in EvE, while my posts earned me to be called a “fake new player” LMAO.

Let’s just go full World of Warships and force everyone in a team on undock. No more “unintended” solo play.

Ccplz gib me jurb

Psychotik Monk was a well respected, widely known player. He was the one to make awoxing and “safari” a big thing and did plenty of other shenanigans creating news. Safari is basically reverse awoxing. You invite people into your corp and then kill them, and or steal their stuff. He created a community of many, many people, doing all kinds of things to keep the game interesting for those who never see any social influence otherwise.

Same goes for Hell Wilkus and the “Suddenly Ninjas”, who made highsec feel alive and lively.

Commander Kane, formerly known as Cannibal Kane, was once named “End Boss of Highsec”, because he single handedly wrecked whole groups, all by himself, and he never even used a fitting tool to fit his ships. That was long before “ghost fitting” was implemented in the game.

These two were heavily involved in highsec politics.

Chribba is the single most trusted player in EVE ONLINE. He’s also one of the longest. I think he actually is player #10, if i recall correctly. He’s been a trusted third party for those who wanted to sell their supers, he has a Dreadnaught mining in Amarr, he mined in fleets of Titans in nullsec, he once had literally half the game’s population jump to his support, because TEST wanted to claim the SOV granted to him for free by someone else.

That’s impact. Social impact. The only one that truly matters. Everything else comes second at best, because without all the social aspects, big or small, there would be no game worth playing. "

That’s only second to social impact, because without people there is no “controlling the map”. Not only that, the majority of players do not even care about what’s going on in nullsec, as they play in the other three “parts”.

So you might have the opinion that “controlling the map” provides the most valueable impact, but not only is it not true on a general level, but if you reduce it strictly to “value” in terms of “monetary value” then you really have no idea about this game at all.

Because some of those people are trying to push changes that make their way of playing EVE better at expense of others.

Needs repeating.

It’s a sandbox, you fly the way you want to, people need to understand this.

Ironic order of posts

lol not really :stuck_out_tongue:

A team with one player with 10 ganking accounts? hehehe sorry I could not resist

The people who design the game have to assume it is 10 customers.

After 15+ years of that being provably wrong? I don’t think so. The only proper assumption is that it’s more likely 10 alts than 10 separate players.

So in a 10v1 the balance should be like 1v1 because the 10 are really alts?

It’s way harder without botting than urban legend would have you believe, most the people saying this are just making it up due to “sour grapes”.

Translation: I am too stupid to be able to multibox so no-one should be allowed to. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Then mining needs a serious overhaul…

Yeah sure you do. Totally believe you. 100%.

Sssshhhhhhuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrreeee.

Considering all the times you moan about how sh1t the game is I’m surprised you can even pretend to play any more…

It doesn’t matter, 32 accounts, you have already called attention to yourself, the only question that remains is what software are you using to drive them and when will you suddenly disappear like so many before you.

There is a huge difference between running multiple accounts, each manually, and using software to drive them. One is encouraged and one is ban on sight.

i’ve lost a mining barge (lol) while in a fleet, yet once I survived a gank attempt by a pair of gankers on a stargate. I dont think it was a genuine attempt though, it was 2 arty hurricanes and they failed to defeat a shield tanked legion! Pretty sure some of those talo’s or tornados would have gotten the job done.

I play solo I run armour fit laser cruisers with a probe launcher, sometimes I get contested in sites and one time I lost, comprehensively. If i had friends we’d probably win easily but such is eve. I dont have the dedicated play time to arrange fleet ops with people so thats how i make my eve. compromise is good
