Actually CCP staff don’t care.
A lot of player have said it’s a bad move. A lot of player ask to stop … they continue and some player are happy to have “free loot”.
It’s a very short term vision of CCP, bring player by said " free pinata everywhere". But it will kill eve at long term by cuting a lot of return.
You want complain ? Don’t write to CCP. Write to Pearl Abyss and explain to they how it’s make you impossible to spend money any more in a game when the editor just decide to lie on promise (remimber : No citadel will be safe for ever of seagul ?). And explain you are not the alone.
After take some cofee and wait next time CCP staff need to present result to PA.
You have number of eve echoes inside . And pandemy make all game company increase revenue, and a majority a lot more than CCP in percentage.
@Red-Sonja PA will not make something, but the day they will see a drop of player they will take all complain send by player and ask CCP : why you don’t have solve this and this and this …
Without PA i m pretty sur blackoout will stay all era of chaos.
I think that the general direction the game is being taken towards has been discussed between CCP and PA. I doubt that, as owner - and correct me - PA wouldn’t be interested in knowing exactly what the devs have ( had ) in mind, planned and intended to implement in their sandbox.
As players, we are not privy to company meetings nor are we on the list of internal memos.
The game works the way Pearl Abyss and CCP agreed it should work.
They have the numbers, the graphs and stuff you’d be years to figure out.
I play the game the way it is.
You want to launch a campaign? Be my guest.
Popcorn time.
You’re not wrong, although I think the value that PA see in Eve is the IP, not the game itself. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Eve spinoffs on various platforms appear over the next few years. I know that it’s been tried before without overwhelming success, but PA have the means to do it properly; that said in a couple of instances CCP were dipping their toes into an experimental market with VR, and Dust turned a profit.
Have sympathy as sometimes we can’t play for RL reasons, but the game needs to stay fresh too for people who are active. There will be many points of view on how much fun the Trig stuff is, personally I like the fact CCP are at least developing the game. Anyway, suggest you raise a ticket to have the jobs cancelled and your stuff moved and see how it goes.
I agree. CCP is under a parent company and, I’d think, would be allowed elbow room as to development. What do we know…?
Spinoffs are to be expected depending on the success of a product. And can you imagine VR for EVE ? Now that’d be a kick. As well as on Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen.
Haven’t checked out Dust yet.
You should probably read the article before assuming it supports your doom approach. Then perhaps ponder how people sometimes use sarcasm to make a point.
" Partially making up for the drop was EVE Online. The game experienced a 31.9% increase in revenue QoQ and a 26.8% increase compared to Q2 2019. The $3.9 million increase brought the total EVE IP revenue up to $16 million for the quarter. While Pearl Abyss credited efforts to shore up the player base as a leading cause of the increase, I would credit both the lockdowns associated with the CONVID-19 pandemic as well as the relaunch of EVE in China on 27 April as larger factors.
The EVE IP could provide a bright spot in Q3 as well. EVE Echoes launches globally today, except for China. In response to analysts’ questions, Pearl Abyss revealed that the company does not have a launch date for the game in China as CCP/Netease is still trying to get a license. "
EVE spinoff in VR was https://www.evevalkyrie.com abandoned since 2017
DUST 514 was dead since the PS3 started dying, its closed for years and CCP tried to bring it back from dead (in some form) but they are the worst necromancers ever.
In any form of combat I’m usually so busy on all the sub-screens in Eve that I don’t actually watch the ‘in-space’ activity, so 3D VR would make very little difference to me.
