When Abyssal RNG ships?
I personally don’t like it the old system guaranteed skill points if you logged in every day for a whole entire month it was rewarding for people that actually played the game
The SP isn’t going anywhere, if I understand it correctly.
guaranteed SP is going to be gone now it’s random there’s no guarantee you’ll get a role during the month for SP but you might get more or none at all
Ummm… that’s not what it said. Here, let me get you the important information.
The total amount of SP… is the same as the old system.
Depends on your luck with RNG. You could have a bad start and only able to even things out after a few years. RNG is garbage.

It does not say that. It doesn’t say it has anything to do with RNG. That’s an assumption. And let’s say you get skill points every 3rd or 4th day… its not hard to write a script to say its been 3 days; therefore you get 15000 skill points as an Omega. If its been 4 days, you get 20,000…
I could code this into a MU* and I barely passed C++ in college…
Have you tried it? It is absolutely RNG.
I have multiple accounts. One gets 11k, the other 20k, the other 14k, etc.
Also:

the old system (average of 150k every 30 login days for Omegas and 50k for Alphas)
Repeat: AVERAGE
Because it is RNG. If it was not RNG, the word “average” would be unnecessary.
If you read what I posted earlier in this thread, I also proposed something like giving out a fix amount of SP every few days which would sum up to either 50k or 150k, depending if Alpha or Omega. What you propose there is a variant, where it starts with little amount at the beginning of the 30 day period, then give bigger chunk by the end of the 30 day period. I’d be kinda fine with that. It’s similar to SP in special events login rewards. However, Alpha don’t have a 30 days period like Omega. A fix amount would be simpler.
But currently on Singularity, IT IS RNG.
And don’t forget the false premise for the change:

the old system’s separate SP track that fills up at the bottom of the window (which user tests have shown to be unnecessarily complicated for newer players)
So how does CCP make things simpler for new players? By adding RNG.
And you’ll have no easy way to keep track of your SP login reward over time, where before you didn’t had to think about it: as it was clear, definitive, that you got 50k or 150k. Yep, much simplier, right ?
Ms Corrupted: I can see how logging into ALL those accounts to work the daily drops would qualify as tedious. However, you will still need to roll through those accounts to actually check the drops. That too could become tedious after which you could, I suppose, hire a butler to play for you.
More to the point, players are not entitled to daily drops. You actually have to login. If that process alone cools your enthusiasm to play, the problem is not the prize mechanics but the button pusher, the mouse clicker…you.
When you go to the gym, you have to actually lift the weights. If lifting the weights makes you not want to workout, it’s not the weights or gym at fault.
When you go to the grocery store, you actually have to buy the food, take it home and prepare the meals.
When you get paid a salary you have to actually work before receipt of compensation. Sorry if this is news.
May I suggest you forgo pet ownership until you get all this worked out.
Thank you for your valuable contribution and insight into my personal life, but I don’t think a request to simplify the reward claiming system in a video game so that players can spend less time clicking through menus and more time actually playing the game is that much of an outrageous demand.
The entire point of the login rewards is to engage you in a tedious, mundane activity that will condition you to have a subconscious behavior reinforcement. Making it less tedious/rote would make it less effective.
Another idea: let us designate a “default” character on each account, and allow us the option to automatically redeem the rewards upon claiming them.
does this deploy today?

To transition from the old system to the new one, we’ll be running a script that gives out the SP from the partially filled SP bars of all accounts that have logged in at least once in the last year (rounding up a bit here and there).
Is this bugged then? Or I am understanding this incorrectly?
I logged in today (having previously been up to 115k on the bar, to be rewarded with 25k!!!

Rounding error
I lost 125k sp today so I don’t think it is getting paid out. It got wiped out. I received 25k sp in return for 145k.
Hey folks! The SP that was given out for your partially completed SP bars is delivered in a stack of 25k SP items in your redeeming queue. So for instance @Feral_Noir above has a stack of five 25k SP items for a total of 125k (his 115k rounded up to the nearest 25k).
Aha! See that now.
Thanks for the clarification, might be an idea to make that more explicit in the blurb

Looks explicit to me.
Good thing the new Photon UI has bigger buttons to assist you finding them.
IMHO the skins should be account-bonding instead of toon-bonding.
