I thought they did, but only once every single one of the freebie skins is already owned?
Yeah, but they said that is unlikely to ever happen.
So we ask you to simplify the reward process a bit, give us more time to claim and redeem the rewards during events, and give them longer redemption timers after being claimed, and instead you…
- increase the amount of claim days in the event by redundantly splitting rewards even further
- drastically decrease the spare days we have to claim rewards to just 2 days in a 10-day event (Christmas had a 2:1 ratio, with 13 spare days)
- give the items 30-day, and even 7-day timers when initially they were available for 180 days, so now we can’t even wait until after the event to organize and redeem items to our characters, and will instead have to do it after every few claims
lol.
It’s like everything you try to do is intentionally made to be as frustrating for the user as possible.
Are you really just incapable of creating a seamless, enjoyable experience for your new features? Like with your atrocious skill training UI redesign that wasn’t needed or asked for? Or are you doing this with specific intent, because you read some gacha game design self-help book and think that this is what players actually want, and that this is going to open the profit floodgates for you?
Because it won’t. I’m actually going to decrease the amount of money I spend on this game now.
They shortened the expiry period so that the worthless junk would clear itself from the redeem queue automatically.
Doesn’t really answer the query. If a toon happens to have that SKIN will trying to apply another one be automatically rejected or a loss where it could have been applied to another toon.
Regards
Okay, there were 6 25k point rewards to claim. Was not readily noticeable with the new icons until it was pointed out.
If the reward stacks cannot be split between multiple toons why create stacks to start with?
Nope, I think it is to create a sense of urgency.
And don’t forget to stuipd random BS with login SP now.
They seems to use the “for the newer players” excuse a lot, but by seeing the contradictions by how the features are implemented, that excuse is bogus.
Most items, yes. But some unique ones (like skins) I actually want, and as someone who’s into collecting things, this system creates a massive inconvenience for me.
Sometimes I have urgent work for an extended amount of days, and then I have to either let go of these things, or greatly inconvenience myself to claim them.
Even worse is that there’s no rhyme or reason for the expiration dates. One skin can be 30 days, another 180 days, and another one 7 days. One chunk of SP is 180 days, and another is 7 days.
Why do it this way? It’s just a dick move by CCP all around.
I spend a lot of money on this game (I’m sure they can check), and now I won’t, simply because of this terrible reward system, and the mobile-focused mandatory UI redesign (that one’s so bad, that I sometimes have to go into the skill extractor menu just to get a nice, linear list of my skills).
Yup.
I had some hope they’d make this better, and instead, they made it so much worse. In exchange for…getting rid of useless BPCs and temporary skins that I could just leave to expire.
I regret having to criticize CCP so heavily for this, but the frustration is just too much now.
It looks like you answered your own question.
how are these entering your redemption queue, without you being able to redeem them without just one more click, and a drag?
CCP Fozzie has since edited his post but “user tests have shown” used to say “Focus Groups” and if anyone else here has any legacy of MMOs going back as far as some of us do, you know why that is concerning.
Ultima Online: Renaissance, Star Wars Galaxies: NGE also came out of the results of independent Focus Groups and one of those barely survived, the other didn’t at all.
As far as I can tell, they’re not listening to the players, they’re listening to people they hope will be.
I’m not even sure that all of these gaming marketing firms are focus-testing actual gamers, because even potential players that are already gamers wouldn’t be providing responses that would warrant such a course of development.
It’s almost like they’re focus-testing non-gamers to get these responses. Like…“what would make you play this video game?” “Oh, I want to be a spaceship captain and become famous for discovering new things every day! Doesn’t that sound so exciting!? \o/”
Then the focus-tester jots down “rewards - discover daily?” into their notepad and underlines “daily” twice.
I would like to remind all of you Eve capsule people, that the topic is “login rewards” other wise known as “gifts”. The gnashing of teeth and rendering of garments on display here is NOT suited to the subject at hand. I would say “get a life” but that would be cruel.
New system feels a bit like a chore due to short reward lifetime on skins and skillpoints, tbh old SP reward felt more rewarding for me for logining in every day, as you could see progress on getting whole 150/50k instead of getting small chunks you barely care.
Other thing is you could keep some of SPs at bay in case you need it on secondary characters on account which usually you don’t train actively, now you are forced to redistribute those points almost instantly, ofc you could send it to alts ‘just in case’ but feels like a waste of SP. I guess it was intended to force players to use skill injectors more often when really needed instead of using stacked SP rewards.
@CCP_Fozzie Another idea: if such short reward times are to stay you could make rewards (skins and SPs) redeem instantly for chosen character, this way i would not have to redeem them every time i login.
7 days now. cmon guys we need just 5 min.
Yes, the old one felt more rewarding, interesting.
Besides… who really cares about boosters or skins?
You don’t have to accept them.
Are these useful for you?
Sure, give more freebies.
