Rhetoric and Speculation on Amarr Scriptures

In this article, I will go line by line through the article which gives us the very few official excerpts from the Amarr scriptures. I will include one or more brief thoughts about each line or passage. This is not to sound heretical or blasphemous, but to stimulate ongoing and deeper reviews of these writings, that we better understand what is considered so foundational in our lives. Some of the included thoughts will sound like I am playing devil’s advocate.

As we discuss each line, I will sometimes chat in an unplanned flow, and other times ask controlled (preplanned) questions. The controlled questions are to help us examine the scriptures so we have more than mere memorization of them. Anyone can parrot sounds, i.e. recite things, but deep discussion helps us understand or see things from many additional useful angles. There are no correct or incorrect answers during our talks, since the point of this article or chat is not to know exactly how the Amarr authorities want us to interpret these scriptures, but just to more deeply discuss and ponder the scriptures on our own for the moment). Just reply with whatever comes to mind; think out loud, and don’t fear a nun smacking the back of your hand with a ruler.

Lore
“The Scriptures are the books of religion: words of faith, words of morality, and words of doctrine. They show the Lord’s true wishes, informing the aspirant how to gain ascension to His glorious realm.”

The Amarr Scriptures are not a single book, but rather the name given to the collective holy texts of Amarr. They are not limited to just religious dogma; they describe everything from out-of-date codes of behavior to early technological breakthroughs. The collective writings have been maintained and updated throughout the centuries by Imperial Theologians and include texts that hearken back to the very origins of Amarr society, written in a tongue so ancient as to be unreadable by today’s Amarr. The Scriptures are the very foundation stone of Amarr society, defining the daily lives of Amarr the Empire across.

[end first excerpt]

My thoughts, passage by passage, are always started with a dash or hyphen, as follows.

  • –“They describe everything.” …So then wouldn’t it be alright to call the sum of guidelines of each of the other civilizations their own scriptures?
–”out-of-date codes of behavior”; why were they once considered in-date (prudent)?
–What are the tech’ breakthroughs, and why are they considered scripture, when, on some worlds, tech’ and science in general were once criminalized and persecuted?
–Why do imperial theologians get to decide what becomes an update to the scriptures?
–Are we certain those theologians were objective, not biased, always doing their work honorably?

[next excerpt follows]

The Scriptures are also referred to as The Word (of God).

  • –Why are they also called that, when sometimes it is not god, but theologians who add to them?

[next…]

The original Scriptures were divinely given to the Amarr from divine beings through prophets such as Dano Gheinok, but recent additions have come from emperors, saints, priests, and others.

  • –How do we know the people called prophets in these scriptures were given the scriptures divinely?
–What is divinely given? (I know the meaning of the term, but who decides or confirms what is divine?)
–How do we know the beings who communicated to those prophets were divine?

Due to these modifications, there exist many different books of the Scriptures. Some have later been deemed apocryphal and been excised for a variety of reasons; the most well known are the Apocryphon which is important to the Sani Sabik and the alternate Scriptures of the Order of St. Tetrimon.

The full Scriptures are far too massive to collect in one place; the Book of Records alone consists of millions of individual tomes. Some of the more well known passages are recorded below.

  • –Since there are millions of tomes in total for these scriptures, making it impossible for anyone to read the full scripture / “word of god”, how can anyone be sure they are following the word of god, vs. just following a small part of it?
–Since only A.I. can read quickly enough to read all those tomes, might only A.I. be able to become true Amarr, all us non-A.I. only able to barely scratch the surface of what the scriptures want?
–How many of those tomes are you interested in reading, and how much spare time do you have to read them?

Book I
“In the beginning all things were as one.
God parted them and breathed life into his creation
Divided the parts and gave each its place
And unto each, bestowed purpose”

  • The Scriptures, Book I 1:4
–This does not say god is timeless or infinite, or why he is a he, or why he separated things, or why things he separated were not already alive. It leaves many questions. Does it perhaps leave questions on purpose, as one of the ways to keep us separated?
–Did he assign purposes as in different essences or cosmic forces which kept things separate?
–Since he separated things, why bother forcing them to unite under the Amarr banner?

“The Amarr people came into the world and the world came into being.
Our illustrious ancestors freed their souls from the evils of the old.
world and created a new one.
The great Amarr Empire was founded to cultivate the spirit of man.
To do so the enemies of the outside had to be defeated and the enemies of the inside controlled.
The Lord gave our Emperor the power to harness the Good and punish the Evil.
Ever since, the Emperor has lived the lives of his subjects and breathed the air of authority.”

  • The Scriptures, Book I 1:14
–Why would it say those people came into the world… and Then that the world came into being? It did not say they shaped the world’s culture; it said the world did not exist until they entered it. How can something be entered before it exists?
–What was evil about the previous world?
–What does “lived the lives of his subjects” mean?

“The Wrath of God is Immense. His Justice is Swift and Decisive. His Tolerance is Limited.
Be Careful. Pure Thought is the Instigator of Sin.
Be Watchful. Free Thought is the Begetter of Disorder.
Be Respectful. Uniform Thought is the Way of Life.
The Mercy of our Emperor is Limitless. His Rule is Benign and Righteous. His Love is Perpetual.”

  • The Scriptures, Book I, The Code of Demeanor
–Of all the emotions and adjectives, why start describing god by noting his alleged wrath?
    –Immense compared to what?
–Does this imply thought by itself is bad?
    –How should thought be paired?
    –Be watchful in what way?
–Why be respectful, instead of immensely wrathful like god supposedly is? Wrath and respect might be regarded as opposites. Shall we respect only immense wrath?
–Why would an emperor following a wrathful god be merciful and perpetually loving?

Book II
“Our Lord visited his flock and saw that all was not good.
Blasphemy and heresy ruled the land.
The Lord punished the sinners and drowned them in their own blood.
But the people of Amarr lived righteously and in fear of God.
Thus they were saved and became God’s chosen.”

  • The Scriptures, Book II 2:1
–What all constitutes blasphemy? (an insult that shows contempt, disrespect or lack of reverence concerning a deity, an object considered sacred, or something that is considered inviolable)
–What all constitutes heresy? (unorthodox beliefs or opinions)
–How would someone be drowned in their own blood?
–Why drown someone in blood, rather than end them in other ways?
–Why fear a god who is supposedly just?

“When the ears hear only
The mouth shouting
And the eyes see only
The fingers broken
The world has turned
And God has gone
Left us with fond memories
Of sweet life without pain.”

  • The Scriptures, Book II, Apocalypse 8:18
–What does this imply we should hear other than loudly spoken words?
–What does that part about seeing only broken fingers mean?

“The Lord loosed upon them his fierce anger
All of his fury and rage.
He dispatched against them a band of Avenging Angels”

  • The Scriptures, Book II, Apocalypse 10:1
–So angels can be like soldiers or assassins?
–Does god need help; from angels or others?
–Why would god not correct or maintain his creation in any other way, since there are infinite ways to do things?

“At the end of days when they descend
Watch for the coming of the Ark
For within it, salvation is carried”

  • The Scriptures, Book II, Apocalypse 32:6
–How is salvation carried in the Ark?
    –What is the Ark?
–Does this imply those who notice the Ark… will thereby be spared?
–How will there be an end of days?

“Casting his sight on his realm, the Lord witnessed
The cascade of evil, the torrents of war.
Burning with wrath, He stepped
down from the Heavens
To judge the unworthy,
To redeem the pure.”

  • The Scriptures, Book II, Revelations 2:12
–What makes people worthy in his opinion?
–Pure in what sense? There can be pure evil, for example.
–Why would god not want us angry and warring, when he is also angry and warring?
–Don’t different versions of these scriptures help keep things separate, like god allegedly separated things? Does god want things separate only the way he separated them, and warring only the way he wants them to war, otherwise remaining how he left them?

Book of Reclaiming
“I give to you the destiny of Faith,
And you will bring its message to every planet of every star in the heavens:
Go forth, conquer in my Name, and reclaim that which I have given.”

  • The Scriptures, Book of Reclaiming 22:13
–If god gave something, why would it need reclaiming? Doesn’t it needing reclaiming mean it has been lost or taken?
–Is this busywork to prevent overthinking or stagnancy?

“There will be neither compassion nor mercy;
Nor peace, nor solace
For those who bear witness to these Signs
And still do not believe.”

  • The Scriptures, Book of Reclaiming 25:10
–Why is there to be no mercy for some, yet the emperor’s mercy is limitless? Is the emperor merciful only to those already believing what he believes?
–Doesn’t it seem that there actually is a lot of peace for many who witnessed the same things yet interpreted them another way? 99% of people have little to do with war. Everyone gets some sleep and other rest.

“So the Lord sent forth the Chosen,
to bring forth the light of faith
And those who embrace his love
Shall be saved by his grace
For we are his shepherds in the darkness
His Angels of Mercy.
But those who turn away from his light,
And reject his true word
Shall be struck down by his wrath
For we are his retribution incarnate
His Angels of Vengeance”

  • The Scriptures, Book of Reclaiming 4:45
    –Who are the chosen?
    –Why is faith called light?
–Why embrace only one aspect or mood of god, and not also his wrath? Why not embrace all of god?
–Might “turn away from his light” be an oversimplification of “migrate away from worlds which have enough sunlight to sustain those lifeforms”?
–Might “reject his true word” be an oversimplification of “create technological barriers between natural cosmic vibrations or energies”?
–Are the writers of this passage saying mere humans are angels whenever they get angry?

And the Lord spake, and said, Lo, my people,
Witness, for I have made the worlds of Heaven;
And these worlds I give to you, My Chosen,
So Amarr shall rule the worlds of the Heavens.

  • –Why are they his people?
–Why did he give the worlds to them?
–Why do Amarr, not god, rule worlds?
–Don’t Amarr and other humans actually just rule other humans on the surfaces of some worlds?
–How can any Amarr rule a whole world… when natural forces are what make worlds do what they do?

None shall stand higher than you save the Sefrim,
Who serve Me as others shall serve you,
For all things under Me serve one higher;
So Amarr shall rule the worlds of the Heavens.

  • –Who are the Sefrim? (Again, I know what the term means, but who exactly are they? So little is described.)
–Why are they higher in this chain of command?

As Garrulor rules the skies; as Frisceas rules the sea;
As Emperor rules Holder; as Holder rules Serf;
Yet all under Heaven serve Me;
So shall Amarr rule the worlds of the Heavens.

  • The Scriptures, Book of Reclaiming 3.19 - 3.21
    –Who is Garrulor?
–Why does that being rule the skies?
    –Who is Frisceas?
–Why does that being rule the sea?
–Why is skies plural and sea is singular?

Book of Missions
“Which test reveals more of the soul, the test that a man will take to prove his faith, or the test that finds the man who believed his faith already proven? If you know this answer, then you also know which of these challenges bear the greatest penalty for failure. The gates of paradise will open for you one time only; woe to the soul who dares to knock twice.”

  • The Scriptures, Book of Missions 5:14
–Is this why Lunarisse only lets people become members of her corp’ once?
–Are all these scriptures really just a test to see who will miss the point entirely… by spending time trying to read and understand them all, thereby being distracted from countless ongoing/modern signs and opportunities?
–Don’t lengthy studies, of these writings or any other writings, boil down to just brainwashing and killing time?
–Should anyone look into what has been deemed worthy of addition to these scriptures, and if and how that has changed over the generations?
–Might we then become able to forecast what will become additions in the years ahead?

“To know the true path, but yet, to never follow it. That is possibly the gravest sin”

  • The Scriptures, Book of Missions 13:21
–Why is “but yet” (a redundancy) part of these scriptures, if they are supposed to be the word of god? Why wouldn’t god be more efficient in his communication?
    –What is the true path?
–How can anyone know that path… when no one can read all the tomes which make up this faith?
–Doesn’t this hint that no one knows the true path, i.e. the full word of god, thus no one can commit the gravest sin?
–If no one can commit such a sin, why attack and conquer anyone?

“Only through many hardships
Is a man stripped to his very foundations
And in such a state
Devoid of distractions
Is his soul free to soar
And in this
He is closest to God”

  • The Scriptures, Book of Missions 42:5
–So god is always facing hardship, or has faced many hardships?
–How can something be difficult for god?
–What happens when we invent ways of reducing our hardships, such as convenient appliances, spaceships, hospitals, etc.?
–If everyone converts to this faith, and wars and conquering end, thus hardships decrease, then does that automatically make us farther or further from god?

“Surround yourself with the faithful, Stand together, for there is no strength like it under the heavens.”

  • The Scriptures, Book of Missions 71:21
–If we are surrounded by likeminded, how will we have many hardships?
–If we are strong, how will we have many hardships?

Book of Trials
“So instructed the Queen to her champion,
‘Beware the righteous who seek truth in spirit alone;
The weak of mind are quick to judge with slightest tempt;
Thus fools go forth to spread false word,
Great misery follows those who heed what only the weak have heard.
Heed me champion, for only you shall know;
Within the blue ring of fire lies the final key of revelation.
Find this ring, my champion, and both mind and spirit shall be strong once more.’”

  • The Scriptures, Book of Trials 2:13 - 2:21
    –Why blue, of all colors?
–How are we sure in such is the final key of revelation?
–Why is mind separate from spirit?

“All things were created by the Divine, and so the glory of our faith is inherent to us all;
When thine heart shines with the Light, thou shalt know no hardship;
When thine actions are in Light’s name, thou art immortal.'”

  • The Scriptures, Book of Trials 2:1
–If all was created by god, “the Divine”, why attack any of it?
–Why would we want to know no hardship… when many hardships are said to bring us closest to god?
–Why claim we become immortal when we follow this “light”, a.k.a. “act in its name”, when many who lived by this faith still died?

Gheinok the First
Dano Gheinok is perhaps the most revered Amarr Prophet. It was he who led the first conformists through the EVE Gate and onto the planet of Athra.

  • –Why are they called conformists?
    –What were they conforming to?
    –What do his names mean?

“And they stood before Him,
bathed in His light.
Yet their eyes were blind,
Their hearts rebellious,
And their minds refused the Lord.
Darkness descended upon them,
Spreading inside their minds,
And the flames of the Lord died within them.
Yet one flame remained,
And within this flame, the Lord found faith renewed.
Casting the others into obscurity,
The Lord turned to the one”

  • The Scriptures, Gheinok the First 1:3
–With all these metaphors, how can we ever picture what literally happened, such as what exactly he said or did that was considered “the Light”?

“And the Lord spoke to him from the heavens,
Described to him his holy purpose,
Bestowed upon him the wisdom,
Of Gods holy embrace.”

  • The Scriptures, Gheinok the First 2:8
–Was this a literal voice from Space?
    –Is Space itself God?
–Might “holy” be a mistranslation or mispronunciation of “hol-e”; hole; void; Space? Or of the wormhole?

“And so it was,
That Gheinok led his people on the great exodus,
To the land of our Salvation,
To the land of God,
To the land of his Chosen,
To Athra.”

  • The Scriptures, Gheinok the First 1:32
–Why is this one planet called the land of god, when god allegedly made so many other planets?

“By His light, and His will”

  • The Scriptures, Gheinok the First, 12:32
–Isn’t this sentence fragment too vague or open-ended to be of much use? (Again, with millions of tomes, how can any of us know what god’s will is, so how can any of us know what is “Light”?)

Prophet Kuria
“For forty millennia we struggled in the desert.
Time of infinity to grief our misgivings.
Time of eternity to stray without God’s guidance.
One can repent and pray for forgiveness.
But true meekness is one that has penetrated and laid its roots in the very heart of a man.
The stars above will not weep for us parting.
The air we breathe won’t notice our disappearance.
The dirt of the earth will embrace our decadence.v Only in God can we thrive and grow.
Only in God.”

  • The Scriptures, Prophet Kuria 4:23
–Why repent or pray if we are all some of the things god made?
–Might “in god” mean “in Space”?
–Again, how can we know when we are “in god”… when millions of tomes unread by most are part of this “word of god”?

“I will not hesitate when the test of Faith finds me, for only the strongest conviction will open the gates of paradise. My Faith in you is absolute; my sword is Yours, My God, and Your will guides me now and for all eternity.”

  • The Scriptures, Prophet Kuria, Paladin’s Creed
–Again, how do we know what god’s will is… when it has taken so many tomes to write it, and when it keeps getting updated/changed, and when it is not possible to read all the tomes?

“Though dissuaded, I came. Though perilous, I served. Though beset, I persevered. Though denied, I believed.”

  • The Scriptures, Prophet Kuria 12:18
–Is it possible all the perils and deniers are signs we are Not on the correct path?
Or maybe they are hardships we should appreciate, not conquer, since it is claimed that more hardships get us closer to god.
–Why bother writing any tomes, or reading any scriptures, when hardship, not knowledge, is supposedly what brings one close to god?
Why not increase or add hardships by destroying all these scriptures and anyone who has memorized any of them?
Why not make us keep starting over?

Saint Junip
"Zakara saw the danger to his brother, and did not hesitate; without weapon or armor, he hurled himself at the beast, attacking with his bare hands. Enraged, the beast turned and struck Zakara, opening a terrible wound in his side.
"Seizing the moment, Garum ran his sword through the beast’s heart, thus ending the battle victorious. But Zakara, mortally wounded, cried out in pain. You sacrificed yourself for me,’ Garum said, taking his hand.
“We are brothers,’ Zakara answered, just before breathing his last. 'And in God we shall remain brothers for all of time.”

  • The Scriptures, Saint Junip 10:25
–Might Zakara just be a new spelling of Zacharia?
–If so, might this passage suggest a dying out of that bloodline, or of that people who used such names, since they believed in the merit of sacrificing themselves for others?
–Should we then Not be the one to suicide like that?
–A passage above said we are immortal when we do things “in the light”, so… was it lying? Mistranslated?

“Rejoice, o chosen of God
For our blood fills this Valley of Death,
Proclaiming our sacrifice to God,
And he shall raise it up for all time”

  • The Scriptures, Saint Junip 15:11
    –What exactly does this mean?

“Here we are.
This is the world of God.
We are his chosen ones.
This place, this planet of peace and abundance, he made for us. It’s ours for the taking.
There will be obstacles and difficulties. That’s his test. We must make his gift deserving.
This beginning.
This birth of life.
This dawn of greatness.
We can not fail, for we have the Emperor to lead us and destiny to follow.”

  • The Scriptures, Second Letter of St. Junip of Aerui
–How is it a planet of peace and abundance when they struggled on it for 40 millennia, and warred with each other, and wiped out entire races?

"Faith is an oasis from which we must draw in order to live. Like an oasis, faith is a gift from the Lord that must be shared with all.
"Like an oasis, faith must be used with measure and not wasted. Like an oasis, faith should be at the center of a garden.
“For it is only in the garden of a just and truthful society, watered by well measured faith, that we may cultivate the spirit of the people.”
– The Scriptures, Seventh Letter of St. Junip of Aerui

  • –But how can an oasis or garden or faith or justice or truthfulness or society be good when they cause the opposite of hardship, thus moving away from god?

Prophet Anoyia
“The angelic Apostles of Heaven sing praises for their children!
Our Lord smiles upon the world.
Where the Emperor rules in his name
Leading his people to glory untold.
Hearken the trumpets of Heaven
Hailing the people of Amarr.”

  • The Scriptures, Prophet Anoyia 17:21
–Who are the apostles of heaven?

"The word of the Lord is pure,
It is a shield for the faithful,
Brought unto men by the Angels,
As a guiding light in the darkness "
’ The Scriptures, Prophet Anoyia 8:15

  • –Isn’t this another contradiction? Before, the scriptures claimed prophets and others gave us god’s word, and angels were sent to destroy.

“Chosen, you are first before God.
You are the True and the Faithful.
But in such a state must you hold yourselves high above all.
And constantly prove yourself worthy of Gods Love.
How can such a gift be repaid,
Other than to toil all our days,
In his glorious service,
According to his will,
Serving him always,
Bearing him first in our thoughts,
Always must we strive to show him our worth,
For we are the Chosen, Blessed above all.”

  • The Scriptures, Anoyia’s Exhortation to the Faithful
–Didn’t another passage say Sefrim were higher than us?
–Many peoples likewise teach that they are god’s chosen or favorites or destined, so… which of them are correct, if any?
–Might this mentality just be a way to get troops to fight harder?

Amarr Askura
“For whosoever shall lay his life down for his Lord
He shall be taken into the arms of God
And forever consecrated will he be
But whosoever shall turn from the light
And run in fear
The Lord shall abandon him
And forever forsaken will he be”

  • The Scriptures, Amarr Askura 2:3
–Why and how lay our lives down… when another passage said we would be immortal? Was that passage metaphor? Is this one? How do we know which is which?

“Face the enemy as a solid wall
For faith is your armor
And through it, the enemy will find no breach
Wrap your arms around the enemy
For faith is your fire
And with it, burn away his evil”

  • The Scriptures, Amarr Askura 10:3
–Is this another metaphor, or are we to hug our enemies?

[CONTINUED IN FIRST REPLY]

Epitoth
1 Now it came to pass in the third day of the first month of the tenth year of the rule of emperor Amash-Akura that the midday deliberations were abruptly brought to a halt when the day darkened in the sky.

  • –What caused this darkening?

2 And the sun went black as night and birds fell from the sky and flowers shriveled in the field and people fell sick in the streets and in the houses.

  • –How do we know this is not, like other passages, metaphor or exaggeration or imagined?

3 And in this moment of terrible distress the skies opened with a loud shriek and angels, bright as the sun was black, descended down to earth and their beauty soothed all the people and the animals alike.

  • –Is this referring to spaceships? A portal/rift? Clouds parting and loud engines roaring? Genetically engineered or eugenics-bred people? Beautiful by whose standard? Beauty refers to female features, and handsome to male features, so were these all female?

4 And when the angels touched the ground with their feet the earth shook violently and fire engulfed those daring too near the divinities. Their power being mighty and their presence potent the people were wise not to look too closely upon them.

  • –Does this mean they are giant like titans? Fiery like dragons or engines? Primitive due to combustion-based propulsion? Some of the ancient megaships which ferried settlers through the massive wormhole?

5 The emperor came from his high seat with his retinue to meet with the angels outside the city walls. And lo and behold! The moment the emperor passed below the city gates the sun cleared and shone as brightly as ever before, all in the glory of the emperor and the heavenly angels that called upon him.

  • –If this timing occurred, why, and did it symbolize something in particular, such as cosmic appreciation of bravery or manners?

6 The angels spoke the language of God and called themselves sefrim: those that guard the high seats of heaven. God ordered them here to protect the emperor against all evils that ever beset him.

  • –What is the language of god?
–Why protect just him and not others?

7 The sefrim offered unto the emperor a present from God as one brother to another: Ametat the Scepter and Avetat the Crown, showing the great pleasure God had in the earthly work of the emperor.

  • –Where are the detailed descriptions of these items?

8 And thus the sefrim came to serve the illustrious Amash-Akura, to stay by his side during the day and guard his sleep during the night. A great house of white stone and marble was built for the sefrim to reside in and were tended by the best servants the empire had to offer.

  • –What sort of tending did they want or need?

9 For a hundred years while the sefrim watched over the empire no wars or epidemics or famines ruined the lands and the people were content and joyous.

  • –But then how do they get close to god, having so few hardships?
–How did they prevent those things?

10 From Istha in the north and Melekel in the south and Edras in the east and from Iphria in the west people came to pray before the holy sefrim and receive a blessing to take home to their families.

  • –Why were these particular four named?
    –What do their names mean?
–Are those cities, leaders, something else?

11 The sefrim stood tall and beautiful, clad in their white and amber robes, with masks of gold and silver to protect people from being struck dead by their angelic beauty.

  • –How tall?
    –Why would their beauty kill?
–Might it mean they are too bioluminescent or energy-based or radiation-emitting for solid/fluid-based humans to handle?

12 And all this time the emperor Amash-Akura did not age one day and was as healthy and strong as the day he came of age. The Scepter gave him vigor and the Crown gave him acumen and his rule was wise and fair.

  • –What stopped his aging, or the atrophy we assume is part of aging?
–How did the scepter give him vigor?
–How did the crown give him acumen?
–Wise and fair by what measure?

13 Then Molok the Deceiver sundered the lands and the people suffered floods and plagues conjured by him. Molok turned the people against the sefrim and people who once sang their praise now abhorred them.

  • –How did he conjur those things?
–How are we sure he conjured them?
–Why did the Sefrim supposedly prevent war, epidimics, and famine, but not a man/conjurer, and not floods?
–Doesn’t it sound like the sefrim were doing some subtle form of terraforming… just long enough to ensure the survival of a colony world, but were told not to get involved on the personal human scale? Maybe the sefrim didn’t care who survived on this world, as long as Some/Any humans survived.

14 The emperor saw that all was not good and summoned the sefrim and said unto them, The people are in great distress, what remedies dost thou have?

  • –Why did he even have to ask, if the sefrim truly were sent by god to protect them?

15 And the sefrim answered, My Lord, the land has split against thee, thou must make war upon thine enemies to reclaim what is justly thine.

  • –Doesn’t this sound like enforcing “survival of the fittest”, not “protection for you in particular by god”?

16 And the emperor asked, Wilt thou aid us in this perilous endeavor?

  • –Again, if they were sent to protect him, why didn’t they already help more directly, not needing to be asked?

17 But the sefrim answered, No my Lord, we are here only to guide and to guard, it is forbidden to us to aggress upon any man.

  • –Doesn’t this contradict other passages which said god sent angels to destroy, and passages which praise the Amarr or faithful for their violence? Which is it; are angels able to aggress upon humans or not? Just sometimes? Why some times and not others? Less and less over time, like phasing their involvement back?

18 Then be gone! The emperor said in anger, for his foes were formidable.

  • –Why imply this instance of anger is bad, while god getting sk angry he wipes out much more… is always written as good?

19 And the sefrim, no longer in the emperor’s favor, returned whence they had come that very day. And the moment they left, the sun went black and people cried in anguish, for this was an evil omen.

  • –What about their leaving made the local star go black? Does this suggest they used the star as a wormhole, temporarily bending its light such that it did not escape the opened portal?

20 And that night God spake unto emperor Amash-Akura in his sleep, saying, Thy folly is great, Amash-Akura, thou hast rejected those I sent to thee in thine hour of need. Thou must redeem thyself to me by thine own merits.

  • –Why call a century an hour? A mistranslation?
–How did god speak to him?
–Why punish a man for understandable frustration, when his anger was infinitely less than the legends of god’s anger?

21 And next day Amash-Akura had aged all his days and his hair was white and his skin wrinkled. But his spirit was high and his will resolute. God had charged him to take back his empire.

  • –Did god accelerate this man’s aging?
–How are we sure it was god’s voice, and not something else, which this man heard?

22 For five years Amash-Akura battled his enemies, wielding Scepter and Crown, and he did triumph in the end. Molok the Deceiver was brought before him in chains and sacrificed on the altar of God; the very next day, the emperor died in his bedchamber, his task fulfilled.

  • –Are we sure he was not assassinated?
–Are we sure these leaders were not diversions, figureheads, “sniper bait”?

23 And that night the sky turned red and the people were again happy that God was content with them and the new emperor.

  • The Scriptures, Chapter I of the Epitoth
–Is this an aurora? Why red and not another color?

We have only those couple pages worth of excerpts from the Amarr scriptures (available in that linked article), but mention in that official lore of “millions of tomes” more; millions more books worth of reading material than current Earth religions have, so… has CCP decided what exactly those other books are, beyond just vaguely saying two subsets of that collection include out-of-date codes of behavior, and technological breakthroughs? “They describe everything” sounds like the Amarr scriptures are the sum of all educational system curricula.

Nowhere in CCP lore does it say the Amarr scriptures forbid anything those I know are into.
In fact, they don’t forbid anything Anyone is into; it says absolutely nothing about what exactly god wants, other than faith in general, or living by his guidelines, or embracing his love, or fighting his enemies, but… how are we to know who his enemies are?

It may be that the Amarr scriptures originally were advice on how to stay close to the literal light of the wormhole from the previous galaxy, thus in better contact and trade with fellow settlers,
and to accept that the ultimate force in the universe, as they were back then calling this colonization campaign, separated things on purpose --in other words: going through that wormhole was part of god’s will, for the greater good.

It may be that since everything offends Someone, these days, Anything leads to hardships with at least those who don’t like the given action, thus anything at all can, by creating hardships that way, bring us closer to god.
So do all lifestyles and paths, then, still lead to god?
Maybe.
Who knows?

Rhetoric; Some More Questions Which Came to Mind:
(I like asking questions far outside or beyond just “What does this book and verse say?”)

What would you do if you met this god?

What if god did not like the way his vision or word was being interpreted today?

What if god didn’t find Any of us worthy?

Since the scriptures claim even the emperor chosen by god to have sefrim in person bodyguarding him for a century… had to be corrected and allowed to die,
don’t you think even the most well-meaning record-keepers today are far from god’s approval, erring, not keeping the scriptures as god intended?

Amarr wipe out entire races, entire world populations… If god approves of that, then it says a lot about what others are taught to think about genocide and other things.

Is it possible the Amarr engineered their own religion/scriptures… just to suit their own ends?

Is it possible All of the scriptures are not what god intended?

If you want to convert to the Amarr faith, I am the one who will ask you the toughest questions about it, seeing if anything upsets/triggers you, and really making you analyze the entire system. That’s the best way to learn it, not just scratch its surface for small-talk in social circles, polite society.
I will not just play preacher or pastor or Sunday school teacher, reciting a verse here and there, and parroting what everyone likes us to say about it.
Being an Amarr is about conviction, steadfastness, and a bit of a superiority complex (not to say that is good or bad), though all the other civilizations have those same aspects, in their own ways; everyone likes what they grew up accustomed to; no one thinks their own breath stinks.
To have more conviction than others, one must learn both others’ beliefs and their own, where they come from, what resonates, and more, because only then can we really have enough of a reference frame to decide what we feel the strongest about --what we feel is right for us.
All others who act superior are on thin ice, their conviction fragile, because their studies and travels are few or insufficient.
How can anyone be steadfast who does not yet know what all is out there, let alone how to process or respond to it?
So I ask tough questions, and play devil’s advocate, and I think the result is tougher, deeper-thinking Amarr --after the initial freak outs, worried I am a nonbeliever or underminer.

..

It has been millennia since anyone claimed a sighting of god. What if god never returns?

Same for the sefrim; what if the sefrim never return?

What if the reason the crown and scepter haven’t been found is because god no longer feels we deserve them?

What if the sefrim return to attack us, being angels of god’s wrath like long ago, re-enabled to aggress against us? Do we let them?

What if we find out that all the scriptures are just oversimplifications by uneducated ancestors during dark ages when they did not understand ancient technical terms or complex concepts, so every translation is both full of guesses and wrong?

What if god returns and tells us the scriptures used to be correct, but are now completely obsolete, to be replaced by brand new scriptures?

What if god likes the Talocan and the rogue drones?

What if god sides with the Sani Sabik for some reason?

What if we encounter other gods… and goddesses… and demigods and demigoddesses?

We once migrated only across a world’s outer surface…
then to other worlds…
then to other star systems…
then other galaxies…
so won’t we eventually migrate to other universes… and other dimensions… and other timelines… and places or times we have not yet even thought of?

What if god destroyed the intergalactic gate?

Since some believe god lives on the other side of that now unstable wormhole remnant, if we figure out how to reopen it, should we, in an effort to reconnect with god?

If you find, after all these questions, that you still feel the Amarr scriptures make more sense to you than anything else, and if the empress or one of her admirals ordered you to attack your own people, would you?

Do you think god is still out there, busy somewhere, bound to eventually return for another check-in?

Is it possible this galaxy is basically a prison or prison block, Space being The Abyss or Hell where all prisons are, and every time god or the sefrim return… it is them giving us a race-wide or species-wide parole hearing? What if god is just a warden?

Faith is based on blind trust. It has a way of making people daring and composed. It can also make them triggered by debate, due process, the scientific method, and other things which are not based on faith. Where do we draw the line between times we feel faith is best… and times we feel evidence must be presented?

What would be a hard limit for you… at which point you would no longer feel it would be right to believe the Amarr scriptures… or even a god or a sefrim… or at least a being claiming to be god or a sefrim?

With all the tech’ allowing us to create life-like V.R., A.I., and transfer personalities or consciousness, how can we ever be sure what we are experiencing now is real, and that if ever we encounter what seems to be a sefrim or god… it is what it seems?

If god made all planets, why would a being able to make so many things on that scale even notice lifeforms as small as us, let alone care what we do? …Maybe because if we think and invent/test too much, we will eventually become able to destabilize his creations –as we have seen with global disasters following some Space warfare.

What if we found out the sefrim were just the managers of the migration of our ancestors through the EVE Gate, and our god was just their own manager, and there were higher authorities than them?

How do you think the current empress would react to god or sefrim showing up?

Since the sefrim are recorded as being so perfectly obedient to god and unified, might they be drones or clones or a shared consciousness?

What if the god written about is an ancient rogue drone?

What would convince you that a being claiming to be god actually was?

What sort of things I might say or do would be too unlike the Amarr you are accustomed to… for you to keep visiting me?

Which Amarr seem to believe the scriptures, and which seem not to?

Do you believe anything is missing from, or wrong about, the scriptures? (Amarr have, after all, been tasked with not only following the approved passages, but somehow adding to them.)

If all the current scriptures were one day recategorized as heresy, would you help destroy them?

If a random Amarr authority gave you a command which would kill someone you love, and they cited scripture to persuade you, who would you side with?

If someone you love asked you to do something an Amarr told you was against the scriptures, who would you side with?

If I told you I don’t care what the scriptures or Amarr or anyone or even god wants, but about what I and my loved ones want, would you hate me?

Who matters more to you: a god who hasn’t been seen or heard from in millennia, or people who definitely exist and are right here with you?

How can we use a religion so full of contradictions to guide us? Isn’t that like trying to follow two fish swimming in opposite directions?

Since entire collections of tomes and beliefs have built up, more than once, been trusted as the word of god by billions, yet still categorized as apocryphal, what’s to say everything we believe today won’t also?

If god returns and tells you to become a Blood Raider, what will you do?

How do you feel about people being killed as offerings to god?

Why is it okay for Amarr to kill billions and wipe out entire races or worlds, but not okay for Blood Raiders and others to kill fewer?

Is it possible the bit about many hardships making us closer to god… was an engineered sentence or mindset meant to motivate terraforming crews to stay where assigned and work harder… and has nothing to do with what god actually wants?

What if god wants nothing… because he has everything he wants… or because he has completely different thoughts or thinking we can’t even comprehend? Maybe god perceives all of time like how we perceive a single object right in front of us, so he can access all he wants, no matter where or when it is, so he always has what he wants.

What if god will always be frustrated by us… because he is so different, and we are just not capable of being or even understanding what he wants?

What if god just wants to keep showing up randomly and telling us we are lacking, so we will keep attacking each other?

Why do we have faith in a god who keeps having to return and council or attack us?

Since so many of us are considered wayward or evil, and so many worlds need terraforming, does that mean god is not very good at creating things, or… that he knowingly makes things difficult for us?

Maybe god is like a weight in a gym, always resisting us, always making us strain or struggle, because it is a certain amount of resistance, in terms of weight and frequency, which keeps us healthy, ‘sharp’, and interested.

If god told you he found you worthy of paradise, would you accept the offer to go there?

If god asked you to keep what you experienced in paradise secret, would you be able to?

What would be paradise to you?

If god wants us to reclaim or conquer all worlds, why did he make it impossible for us to even conquer the Jove?

What if god has been going around telling Every civilization’s prophets that they are right and everyone else is wrong? Maybe that is why we haven’t heard from him in so long.

What if god takes not hours to sleep like us, but millennia, so we always end up with a cycle of long dark ages no matter How well we try to live by the scriptures?

Since god didn’t make the scriptures, but the planets, shouldn’t we be trying to learn the planets as the language of god?

If god made planets, how?

Did he also make stars, or is he a star?

Did Space exist first, and make god, or did they both start at the same time?

When a planet gets shattered, is that vandalism of god’s creation?

If god made planets, did demigods make the layers and continents of planets, or did god make every level of detail?

If god made demigods, why do we not hear about them?

Did god ever do more than talk to prophets; did god ever walk amongst the humans?

Since sefrim must mask their faces so as not to kill us with sheer beauty, does god limit us to only his voice millennia apart… because he is even More naturally overwhelming/lethal to us? Maybe he is so powerful that he can only create stable planets, and anything smaller is at risk of being annihilated, like a junkyard electromagnet trying to pick up and precisely position a sheet of aluminum foil… when the magnet was meant for only lifting and dropping and smashing entire cars.

If sefrim beauty kills us, why?

If sefrim beauty kill us, which species does it Not kill?

What if god never left?

What if god communicates to us all, but the writers of the scriptures were told to leave that part out?

What if the empire ordered the scripture keepers to hide a lot of the scriptures/methods/breakthroughs from us, so we would not get close to god quickly if at all?

What if it is not just god or sefrim who can pause aging/atrophy?

What if the empire made up god and the sefrim, when it is just us; when we should have all along been listening to each other, and striving to be loving and close to each other?

What if we start as close to god, all of us, in childlike innocence and wonder, and fluctuate between that and being farther from the godhood state of self-paradise, based on when we doubt vs. trust our own instincts?

What if the scriptures are just brainwashing to keep the gullible busy arguing and hurting their own kind?

What if the ancestors unknowingly manifested the sefrim and that god just by wanting them, after growing tired of survival and leadership, craving someone Else to take charge?

What if the scriptures are essentially a race of natural submissives crying out for a dominant, and the wars to conquer everyone are really just that race mercilessly testing everyone to determine who is strong enough to be that dominant?

What if that super-dominant being exists, but is annoyed or turned off by that cruel warring?

It is common knowledge the Amarr ended entire worlds’ civilizations in their campaign to conquer all. How many such apocalypses did they cause that they managed to cover up?
Did they make up the scripture which told them to conquer… just to divert some understandable hate to a nonexistent deity?

Forty millennia struggling in a desert? The Amarr ancestors weren’t even in this galaxy that long; it is clearly either a lie or a mistranslation or a failure at accurate timekeeping, so… how much Else in the scriptures is way off, not just slightly wrong?

What if god abandoned direct communication, because humans kept misinterpreting or lying about it or not even noticing, so he switched to communicating through other races and things?

What if even times of sunlight vs cloudiness are his communications, and changes in wind direction and speed, and what clouds look like, and every time an animal or bug passes by, and our own instincts, and noticing number patterns such as triples, and on and on? If god doesn’t like us getting mad and impatient, wouldn’t he switch to communication types which force us to be calm and observant just to notice them?

What if it isn’t hardship that brings us close to god, but anything at all, since all used to be as one, and got separated, but is still all made by god, all part of god?

What if paradise can be made anywhere, in more than one way?

What if we all can become a god or goddess, and that was what god intended, thus why he intervenes less and less, letting us do our own thing more and more?

Does it ever bother you that the main deity of this religion is male, not female, or a couple, or a family of deities?

What if the first deity was actually a female, but was assumed to be a male, or someone along the way lied by just saying it was a male?

What if all our technological breakthroughs are actually vices we depend on like crutches, not helping us as much as we think they do?

What if the real god or deities are the submissives we keep enslaving or conquering; what if a deity doesn’t have to be dominant or powerful?

Does it make us great and exemplary and holy, going around conquering those who are not as numerous or developed as us?

Have you ever seen the difference of energy and mood of people who worship each other as goddesses and gods?

Worried about worshipping your fellows or the likeminded… making them arrogant or spoiled? Aren’t the Amarr and others already arrogant and spoiled? Maybe doing the opposite of what the Amarr and other arrogant people do… is what will unspoil us, or spare us from becoming spoiled like them.

What if god clone-jumps, and sometimes has amnesia, forgetting he is god, because that hardship is part of his design, making things more of an adventure, more interesting to experience than total power and perceiving all of time and all events as if they already happened and were understood from the start?

What if you are god (or a goddess)?

What if the EVE Gate never failed, but is still functional, and those who tell us it is collapsed and deadly just don’t want us close to god?

What if there are other ways to get back to where we came from; other ways to trace our family trees all the way back to godhood?

What if seeing sefrim faces/beauty didn’t kill us, but actually greatly healed and empowered us, and we were just Told it/they/beauty would kill us… to scare us into making more random or ugly or deformed offspring, which are more easily controlled?

If god made planets, are the planets conscious like we are, just moving and communicating so much more slowly than we do that it is difficult for us to notice?

Since we are not familiar with most animal languages or thoughts, is it possible god communicates with them, too, maybe even more than he communicates with us, and we just don’t know it? Maybe the animals and even the plants and the land itself all have massive portions of god’s word which our scriptures are completely ignorant of, lacking.

We spend roughly a third of our lives distracted by work, and another third distracted by family and errands and unwinding, and another third unconscious, so might we be so busy and distracted that we miss most of what could be ongoing attempts from god to communicate with us? Might we be aware of such communication when we are the most relaxed and undistracted and open, i.e. dreaming, but our alarm clocks and other things, such as not being in the habit of remembering and typing out our dreams, keep making us forget when god communicates with us?

What if god is naturally so much more energetic or intense than we are… that he ALWAYS seems angry and destructive, even when he doesn’t mean to be?

What if god was just porTrayed as angry and destructive… to make the Amarr’s imperialism/warring seem less bullyish/evil?

If the scriptures passage is true about god’s angels violently shaking the earth even when they were just peacefully arriving, and instantly killing people just by being seen without their masks/helmets/spacesuits on,
then maybe if god returned… it would be even more powerful, more destructive, more vibrating, as if god is such a powerful and beautiful sound… that no mortal or even a planet can withstand it.
Maybe that is what destroyed the EVE Gate; maybe god went through it, or arrived at it, and his presence alone was more than enough to completely destabilize the thing.
Maybe god can only create when he is spread out through all of space and time, his powerful vibrations or sound or voice then causing the formation of planets and timelines,
and the only way for him to communicate with beings like us is through intermediaries such as angels/Sefrim.
In other words, he isn’t angry or violent or destructive at all; he just SEEMS that way to such smaller, weaker beings, like when one of us walks by an ant hill, or touches a petri dish, completely upending and terrifying everyone below, on that much smaller scale, even when we are doing our best to mind our own business and be careful. We simply have too much energy or mass/tonnage for them.
Maybe that is why god stopped visiting, and even talking to us; it was just too much for us to bear, even when he was doing his best to be brief and whispering.
Maybe that is the amount or level of energy it takes to create planets and manage the universe, an endless and constant amount, deafening and humbling to the rest of us.
Maybe that is how much energy or power or presence we would have, if we had total faith in ourselves, the kind of faith the devout Amarr keep urging people to develop and maintain.
What do you think?

..

A question to see who prefers faith and submissiveness over questions/discussion in general:

Do questions resonate well with you, or are these particular questions too intense,
or are they fine but you would rather just be told what to do when around me?

My hunch is that Sefrim have masks or spacesuits to protect us from their beauty/energy/intensity/perfection/sound/vibration,
and their maker has his own equivalent of such a buffer/shield, maybe even to protect them from him,
and his equivalent of such a mask or suit… is the planets themselves; every world shields us from his much-greater energy/voice, which could not be contained otherwise; it is such a powerful voice when spoken, not just telepathically projected, that without something as thick as a planetary crust, or the atmosphere of a gas giant, it would simply automatically destroy or create anything,
and the only way to stop it endlessly creating and destroying, or keeping things unified, all as one, like in the First Time, was to make those massive shields, and so many of them, that there are countless of them, all throughout the universe, preventing chaotic cosmic-scale creation and rearrangement, which seems to have been the case billions of years ago, i.e. planetary realignments, moons crashing into planets, ejecta forming new moons, interplanetary discharges; mega-lightning once connecting neighboring worlds, etc.
..
and so as not to destroy the planets he created, he does not open them like we are able to open our helmet visors, he instead traveling through the still-much-more-energetic stars, since they are already close to his level of brightness and intensity, and their plasma/energy form is much more able to handle or recover from his incredible beyond-our-imagining energy/ripples,
..
and every time he even sends Sefrim through a star, from his dimension to ours, it is enough to nearly destroy it, temporarily making it appear like a black hole, their added mass enough, with the star they are using as a doorway, to, during their passing through it, make it appear to us to go black,
..
and Space has permanently gone black because his existence either destroyed whatever it was before it was Outer Space, or it keeps it bent in so many places and so many ways all at once… that while it once was part of everything, and fully aglow, it now naturally remains dark, his will having indefinitely separated things such that only some volumes of reality now emit light,
..
and all stars are body-parts of god, his portals from one portion of himself to another,
and all of Space is another body-part of god,
all stars and Space, then, conscious, aware of us, able to be communicated with, if only we believe this is possible, and begin to try.
..
Back in the first moment when god let loose his voice, it instantly created infinite Space,
and then he instantly created however many world-sized barriers from his perhaps-infinite voice-generating nodes throughout reality, to stop that instant infinite creative force/power,
and as those shells/worlds solidified, and finished exchanging energy (interplanetary mega-lightning bolts), then more stability and separation and smaller beings became able to safely exist.
Whenever a world or star destabilizes, we often see a supernova, which is a tiny fraction of god’s voice causing a relatively tiny volume of ether/Space to get partially converted into colors/elements/substance.
When god’s voice does not tell ether/Space how to keep forming, what is left is nebulae.
..
Imagine being so intelligent, powerful, and vast, …that every thought was complex enough to instantly form an entire universe, or a multiverse, or the omniverse; all universes and times that ever were or will be.
Imagine how much separating and whispering and shielding it must take to dial that immense energy and knowledge down enough that we could survive exposure to it.
Those who could handle it would be as rare as the people in the comic-books who can touch an Infinity Stone and not explode, thus the rarity of our prophets, and the rarity of the sefrim.
Maybe the Sefrim were specifically created because god saw all times and scales and needs of everyone at once, thus understood from the start that such beings would be necessary to communicate for him, when his voice was too powerful or chaotic-seeming for people like us to understand, or too much for us to even realize we were Hearing a voice in the First place.
And maybe it is even difficult/strenuous for the Sefrim, being accustomed to being so much more connected to god, i.e. that cosmic and infinite power,
or maybe even they cannot get up close with god, so they reside in the atmospheres of the stars, or in the molten planetary cores, never quite able to stay amongst us for more than a century or so, and never quite able to go all the way to the shared core of all worlds and stars… where/which/when god is.
..
Maybe it takes god spreading out his messages over millennia… for us to even come close to being able to handle their parts.
Maybe him spreading out his communication over that much time… stems from what motivated him to make and spread so far apart all the planets and stars.
Anything closer / more frequent… might cause everything to collapse back into oneness, i.e. the opposite of entropy, ending us all, not just shaking the ground when one of his messengers arrives with one part of one of his messages.
..
These thoughts of mine have proven too much for many I used to try and communicate them to. Even my gaze was too much for some, they often saying so, even asking me to look their way with less intensity.
I made and taught Z’ here to help be my middle-woman, helping convert my ideas into words which others could handle better.
I don’t know if god is using me as a prophet, or another filter between his sefrim’s thoughts and the minds of the people I interact with,
but it seems possible.
All I know is that I have these thoughts, and Z’ is better than I am at relaying them out to those who express interest in one or more things I facilitate.

I suspect god also uses planetary crusts to regulate how much traffic is able to know about, let alone go through, the portal inside each planet, thereby preventing those portals from collapsing like the EVE Gate wormhole did,
and stars meanwhile are made so much bigger than them… that their sheer size and brightness/heat/radiation are what was designed to deter most traffic/ships/mass from using them,
and when a star goes supernova… that is when something went through it, using it as the secret wormhole/portal/doorway it is, which was enough to finally overload or exhaust its portal ability,
and sometimes the Sefrim do this on purpose, just like we force-close wormholes connecting wormhole systems to regular-space systems we no longer want them connected to.
In god’s case, maybe he does this to stars which he no longer sees a need for his Sefrim to go through, since no one in those systems needs more messages from him or them.

Traffic outgoing from god/Oneness/Source/Heaven… might appear to us to be earthquakes, which only planet-sized shells/shields/spacesuits can mitigate/manage enough to keep us alive, and to prevent god from automatically creating more planets, more stars, more nebulae, more physics or forces of nature, etc.
When not contained in a solid world-size shell, that traffic then appears as solar flares, when god whispers, and otherwise as solar wind; god’s constant energy/power always at least causing ether/Space to appear to have energized particles or photons flowing THROUGH it… when really it is god stimulating Space to manifest those things in such a way that his will shifting through Space makes it seem like a stream of particles, but it is not particles or light moving out; it is his will or presence fluctuating across time.
In other words, the solar wind is what we see when part of god, who exists at all times at the same time, from his point of view, thinks about or passes through one set of our moments.

The EVE Gate wormhole may have been god not just making a way for our ancestors to keep increasing in numbers without overwhelming the resources of the previous galaxy,
but god using his will to stimulate Space to become that gateway and obvious sign,
and god making that way for us to travel through his infiniteness with greater ease than if we had attempted to move through ether/Space, which we have so little ability to safely trigger to manifest/become things.

Maybe god only exists in thought form, and we assume he is speaking to us… when he isn’t even using telepathy; maybe he body-hops, and when we hear his voice… it is because he is in our heads, literally.
Maybe that is what makes him so powerful; he is not limited or distracted by a solid/physical body.
He understood this, seeing all possibilities played out at once, and so he made planets and animals to contain himself, shielding himself from exposure to ether, and then had his bodies brainwashed so they wouldn’t even think/imagine things which could make them say things which could stimulate Space to further manifest things.

Maybe that pure-thought being… made people such that they would always be limited in what they could sense and understand and want, and always be different, resulting in endless conflict/infighting, thus endlessly distracting themselves, thus never able to focus or grow long enough to manifest things from ether.
Maybe successively previous races/civilizations has proportionately more awareness of ether manifesting abilities/options, and proportionately more urge/desire to Use the ether that way, resulting in each Age using ether less, as more layers of reality got manifested, until there was no more reason to manifest More, but only to move back and forth Through the solidified layers,
thus all the stubborn and helpless people now.
Maybe that is how things are kept separate, solid, stable.

Maybe god knew he first had to manifest ether, a substance or element which would always manifest things which then had some staying power on their own,
and he knew then/next he had to manifest shields/barriers to protect ether/Space from always being in contact with his always-thinking/-triggering self, thus the planets got made.

Maybe god is called a he because he initiated things.

Maybe he never gets frustrated or angry, but is always so full of potential/energy… it just overloads and terrifies everyone made far later.
Maybe he Wants most afraid of him… because then none dare try to beCome or Rival him, and thereby limit themselves, which keeps new creations minimized or even nonexistent.

Maybe he ended contact so that it is that much more difficult to figure him out, thus perhaps impossible to ever become godlike.
Maybe that, and closing the intergalactic wormholes which were his own bodyparts, was all/also part of him separating things.

Maybe there can be only one thought-based being, top deity/force,
..
and then only ~several-dozens of plasma-form beings; stars, solar flares, lightning, flames, etc.
..
hundreds of ionized-gas beings; auroras, etc.
..
thousands of gas-form beings; atmospheres and weather patterns/systems
..
millions of vapor-form beings; clouds, fog, mist, etc.
..
billions of liquid-form beings; oceans to waves and droplets
..
trillions of fluid-form beings
..
and quadrillions-infinite solid/stable beings, ranging in size from boulders to specks.
..
Maybe every phase of matter/life, from thought to solid, naturally goes up (has more separate members) by a few or more degrees of magnitude.

FEEL FREE TO REPLY IN CHARACTER OR OUT OF CHARACTER.

I find the Apocryphon inspiring as it explains there is a finite amount of suffering in the universe, so if you cause suffering upon others, then it alleviates the suffering of yourself and those you love.

This is why we drain the miners of their blood.

In my youth, I had the opportunity to speak to a former preacher of the Amarr faith, who told me the story of Amash-Akura and the Sefrim. It struck me as sounding a lot like an “alien encounter”. When the “angels” descended, bright as the sun, were these spacecraft coming in for a landing? The earth shakes and fire engulfs those who dared come too close, was this simply a rough touchdown and people wandering into an active shield? At the time I thought the sefrim may have been jovians, I assumed the masks they wore were simply to hide how different from baseline humanity they appeared, but nowadays I’m more inclined to believe these may have been Triglavians, before they made their way into the Abyss. But that’s based on very little other than an apparent shared fondness of masks.

As for why the Amarr have so much scripture, the answer is simple. In the Empire religion and government are tightly interwoven. Scripture isn’t just religious commandments like “As Emperor rules Holder; As Holder rules Serf; Yet all under Heaven serve Me” or the history of Dano Gheinok, it also encompasses those things other governments would consider thoroughly secular matters; tax codes, growing seasons for various crops, emissions standards for planetary vehicles… Any human would struggle to read it all, but no human actually needs to read it all, you’d learn those things which are relevant to you. A holder will learn the religion, yes, but he’ll also learn the laws and honours/duties that apply to his domain and positions, a technician will learn the religion, yes, but he’ll also learn the standards and practices of his field, and the slave will be indoctrinated in the fundamentals of the religion and very little else.

A couple more thoughts I later had:

“how to gain ascension to his glorious realm”
sounds like it means “exact methods to maintain a society which makes vehicles which go ‘up’, i.e. initiate/force (thus the referring to god as he/masculine), not into a peaceful state/realm, but a glorious one; glory = honor one by notable achievements, not by existing/staying”
..
IOW: Amarr scriptures do not guide one to heaven or god (unless one believes Outer Space to be heaven or god), but to a masculine/forceful/glorious way of being.
..
“ascension” purely/literally meaning “into sky and Space”
which is actually just “out” or even “down”, if you ask those who view Space not as ‘up’, but out into the literal abyss

and the 2nd later thought: Since each of the major governments/factions believe in a different guiding force or set of deities, maybe they were met by superhuman beings at very different times (i.e. millennia apart), perhaps then beings from different levels of the superhuman hierarchy, or perhaps god and/or sefrim appearing in/as different states of matter;

Jove: do not believe in divine or alien creator beings, but rather identify as the descendants of early human colonists who were guided to their home system (in the Heaven constellation) by a group known as the Enheduanni, possibly a.k.a. The Watchers (which sound like it may hint at thought-form; just observers, not interacting with the physical plane)*

Amarr: spoke of fire when their angels and god visited them; closest to start/top of the superhuman hierarchy, since the most energetic of the states of matter

Caldari: wind spirits; gas; 2nd down from start/oldest deities

Minmatar: spirits in general, nature-based, including elders; fluids or, at least, partially fluid; another era or state-of-matter down this hierarchy

Gallente: farthest removed from the start of this hierarchy;
“discover your own purpose and meaning”, i.e. might not have been met by obvious deities at all, or just deities appearing in current/modern (human; mostly solid) form

If that is the case (each of the major four being met or guided millennia apart), maybe that is one reason why the Amarr either have not encountered their angels/god recently (unless they have, but it just hasn’t been reported to everyone else yet).

Maybe the Jove would have interpreted their guides as demideities or angels or god if those people/beings had shown up as dramatically as the Amarr scriptures claim the sefrim showed up, so maybe that’s why the sefrim chose to show up all fiery and earth-shaking; they had learned that humans are greatly influenced by fear / shows of overwhelming force.

*For reference: Heaven | EVE Universe (noted here because the Amarr speak of being guided (shown how to ascend) to Heaven, and Heaven used to be the seat of an empire of people who had incredible developments; maybe that part of the Amarr scriptures needs an update, since Heaven (the constellation) is no longer the amazing civilization seat it once was).

So what do you think; are the Enheduanni the people responsible for all these major factions’ legends / ancient sightings/guidance? Maybe the Enheduanni made themselves appear very different to each of those civilizations, that none, once in contact with the others, suspect they were all guided by the same whomever/collective.
