Order listing and update fees make the market slower and less efficient. Its a serious issue.
working as intended..
Yeah right
Its just silly to this day we got to rely on 3rd parties to see pricing beyond our current region. Hello boomer? Look at him, boomer is still happy with his gramophone.
Selling loot in Jita doesn’t feel as rewarding anymore, as many items now have spreads of 30% or more. Jita used to offer much better liquidity, and I’m curious how things will evolve if this continues.
Be the change you want to see, make use of the opportunity of those ‘high spreads’ you complain about, do market trading and bring the sell and buy orders closer together.
As long as there is a fee to list and change market orders players will experience unpredictable prices. Alliances and corporations might consolidate power, as only large groups could absorb volatility.
Unpredictable prices results in a fun player-ran economy where people can find opportunities to make ISK.
Understocked items are opportunities for industrialists and haulers, price gaps between buy and sell orders are opportunities for market traders and missing sell orders are opportunities for both industrialists and people who prepare for such situations by having large stock in their hangar.
Why does it sound like your ideal EVE market is overflowing with endless stock for both buy and sell orders, has constant and regulated prices like some scripted single player game with NPC stores?
EVE’s strength is that it has a player-based economy with fluctuations, opportunities, a living breathing world.
Stop trying to get rid of that.
And worse, stop trying to get rid of the mechanics that exist to combat market bots.
hey the current set up is good for business, since standings are tied to the trading mechanics… i love the current set up.
In Jita prices become unreliable and items even sell out. But in rest of the game the problems are worse because liquidity is lower in the first place.
If there wasnt a problem the global plex market wouldnt be a thing. Peace.
Do you still believe EVE is supposed to have anything like ‘reliable prices’?
Prices are set by players, by the current time of the day, by the location. They’re going to fluctuate. It’s how this game is created.
Charging fees for creating/updating market orders is pointless and even harmful.
Charging fees for creating/updating market orders is a good idea and even beneficial.
It is harmful to charge fees for listing and modifying orders.
Fees should be applied only at order execution.
It is not harmful to charge fees for listing and modifying orders.
Fees should be applied just like how it is now.
If you play the game you can tell the markets feel dead. But you can also look up what happens when you charge fees to list and modify orders. Or you can use common sense to figure it out

If you play the game you can tell the markets are fine. But you can also look up despite charging fees to list and modify orders trade is going on. Or you can use common sense to figure it out. ![]()
You know, the request to remove market fees makes perfect sense.
If you consider that the one asking for it is using a bot to write their messages that they spam on the forum in order to repeatedly request the removal of the one thing that blocks market bots from spamming their offers on the market.
Adada wants his market bots back.
There’s an important difference between listing or modifying an order—which should be free—and an order actually executing, where a fee makes more sense.
I wonder if he actually believes spamming here while ignoring any constructive feedback and attempt at discussion will somehow convince CCP to change things or just doing it because he’s bored or something. ![]()
