The situation on Athounon VI took a new turn earlier this day as a cargo shuttlecraft, registered with Taayusaka Eskeitan, was reportedly shot down during transit.
Responsibility for the ambush was claimed by Jonatya Fauneux and his former Federal garrison, which have since regrouped in the rural outskirts around the wider Cieléclat area. The attack caused the shuttlecraft to crash in a remote area, approximately 40 kilometers away from the city’s bounds.
In response, Taayusaka Eskeitan sent search and rescue teams to the crash site and imposed a strict quarantine, preventing anyone from approaching. Troops enforcing the quarantine wore CBRN gear, highlighting the potential risks associated with the incident.
The crash site’s quarantine has raised questions about the contents of the shuttlecraft, with speculations about its cargo all remaining unverified. Meanwhile, it is believed that Jonatya Fauneux and his rebel forces may have been able to reach the crash site before Taayusaka CorpSec’s arrival.
Corporate spokesperson Inachi Kaparainen issued a statement shortly after the attack:
"Taayusaka unequivocally condemns the recent terrorist attack on one of our shuttlecraft on Athounon VI. We view this act as a flagrant breach of peace and stability in the region.
The attack, led by the disgraced former-Commander of the federal garrison of Cieléclat and his group of renegades, threatens the safety of the people of Athounon VI, and disrupts our lawful operations in the area. Taayusaka will not tolerate acts of terrorism aimed at destabilizing the region.
Taayusaka Eskeitan is unwavering in its commitment to upholding the principles of justice, safety, and corporate responsibility. We will not stand idly by while such acts of terrorism attempt to undermine the peace and stability that we are striving to bring to Athounon VI.
Our priority is the safety and security of our employees, our assets, and the people of Athounon VI. We have dispatched search and rescue teams to the crash site, and we appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the local population as we continue these efforts.
In order to mitigate potential risks, we have imposed a temporary restricted zone around the crash site, enforced by Corporate Security Forces. This ensures that unauthorized access is prevented, safeguarding the interests and well-being of all involved.
Taayusaka Eskeitan reiterates its commitment to bringing the individuals responsible for this act of terrorism to justice. We are collaborating closely with local authorities to ensure that those accountable are apprehended and held accountable for their actions.

Following this statement, it is reported that reinforcements in the form of a counter-insurgency unit are inbound to Athounon to resolve the threat.
