Ishohuolvi Annexed by Gulormola Province

With CBD Spacelane Patrol forces withdrawing from Skarkon to support war efforts in the Caldari State the Gulormola Autonomous Zone has moved to annex the southern province of Ishohuolvi. Despite being lauded by the Khumatariat government earlier this week for their cooperation with Skarkon II security forces, Spacelane Patrol and their auxiliary forces from Onikanabo Brigade had faced a series of setbacks over the last several weeks beginning with the warclone assault on the Huomaeli Belt. Following the conquest of Sahendaruman Fortress, CBD continued to coordinate with the Khumatariat government to petition SARO for specialist forces to assist in repelling the warclone offensive. The movement was blocked by the Republic Justice Department, however, denying SARO interference within Minmatar territory.

Under the direction of Knightguard Fury, the warclone breakthrough past the Huomaeli Belt quickly broke into numerous autonomous cells to carry out deep operations across Ishohuolvi while the majority of CBD’s mobile defense-in-depth capabilities were occupied repelling a UNF ArSec expedition from the north. Initially focusing on small-scale guerilla raids on Spacelane Patrol assets, the breakdown of CBD command structure on Skarkon II has given warclone troops an opportunity to regroup and surround the Ishohuolvi capital of Iddeserigard. As UNF ArSec troops close in to reinforce their allies in the Bosena Accords, many expect a full evacuation of the CBD megacorporation from Skarkon II within the coming days. Geographically isolated from Khumatariat forces in Skardisaad, the collapse of CBD administration in the region is expected to leave an immense power vacuum in the region.

Initially thought largely unpopulated, Bosena Accords forces have reported sprawling mining facilities manned by numerous undocumented workers from the Minmatar Republic and the Caldari State alike. Most troubling perhaps are reports of immense penal colonies comprised of Caldari workers who, until encountering warclone patrols, thoroughly believed they had been sent to serve in CBD sovereignty within Caldari borders. The number of unregistered civilians recently discovered in Ishohuolvi are difficult to trace or identify without CBD cooperation, but are estimated to be between two to three million. Creating a census of these residents, providing humanitarian relief, and if necessary repatriating them back to the Caldari State is set to be an unprecedented crisis in the weeks ahead.

The Gulormola Autonomous Zone has already taken steps to lay claim to the region and mitigate the crisis, with local officials moving to annex Ishohuolvi as part of a united “South Skarkon” territory. Whether newly “liberated” citizens of South Skarkon will accept occupation and administration of Gulormola and the Skarkon Freedom Corps remains to be seen. With the war in the south coming to a close, however, Warden Galm Eskola-Fae was quick to commend his comrades and recommit to the greater conflict in Skardisaad.
