UNF and Valkyrie’s Curse Deploy to Intaki

In a surprise move, the United Neopian Federation, and Valkyrie’s Curse corporation have jumped a pair of Chimera class carriers to the Intaki system at the Intaki V - Moon 5 - Astral Mining Inc. Refinery, and multiple smaller ships have been sighted filtering into the system with similar identifiers. Large numbers of personnel from Windstalker Installation Security Operations, a sub-division of Windstalker Security Corp, have also been sighted aboard the Astral Mining station in and around the docking hangars alotted to the carrier vessels. The purpose of this build up is as yet unknown, but it may be that both groups could be preparing to get involved in the ongoing situation on the surface of Intaki Prime, but currently there has been no public statements made.

Aliastra dismisses capsuleer over toxic waste

ALILLERE (The Nexus Inquirer) Aliastra (A) sources tell the Inquirer that Valerie Vynneve, one of their capsuleers, has left the corporation over her involvement in the smuggling of toxic waste onto Lai Dai Protection Services (LDPS) stations across Lonetrek and Black Rise.

According to an Aliastra human resources executive, who requested anonymity as the corporation has not made any public statements on the affair yet, the corporation felt that Ms. Vynneve’s accions reflected poorly on Aliastra’s distribution operations. They also posed a reputational risk with the wider public, particularly in the Caldari State. She also refused to explain her activities since the LDPS incident, which apparently involve building 60 mobile depots within a few jumps of the Intaki system. Rather than be put on probation, the executive said, she resigned from Aliastra.

Ms. Vynneve was not available for comment.

Verified Viriette: Trouble brewing for Duureanta’s khuska cartel?

Duureanta, Harroule IV - A spike in Duureanta’s closely held khuska refining licences may indicate a shift in domestic politics or a challenge to the market dominance of the incumbent and locally-backed licensees.

Until recently, the Center of Advanced Studies’ Agoze Campus and an affiliate of the Ishuk-Raata Enforcement Directive have been the only non-local entities to hold licences to refine khuska oil, a product from the seeds of the khuska plant, also known as Harroule Dryweed.

The Duureanta Narcotics Task Force has been rocked by corruption allegations in recent years, however, leaving it vulnerable to an advocacy campaign by local doctor, Mossaf Rumaita, as covered recently by ZANIE.

image

Perhaps as a result, DNTF recently announced that it has approved licence applications from two big biotech players (Poteque Pharmaceuticals and X-Sense) and two independents (Huma-Hene PSF and Chatelain Biopharma).

DNTF Chief Inspector Rafael Cezanne commented, “All licences require a high degree of local employment as well as investment in local research and development. We expect the new licensees will help open up this critical sector of our economy to fresh approaches that will move Duureanta further up the resource value chain and so protect it from exploitation by more unscrupulous elements.

Many vested local interests are understandably outraged. One source, who wished to remain anonymous said, “Everyone knows the Task Force is crooked, even though they could not make the charges stick to Vasumati,” referring to the controversial acquittal of M. Cezanne’s predecessor on charges of corruption, “Well now, with that fool Rumaita’s help, they’ve finally succeeded in selling us local producers out!

Dr. Rumaita was unavailable for comment and is understood to be visiting his estranged wife.

It remains to be seen how these reforms will affect the local economy or the often over-looked Duureanta’s relationships with its neighbours.

Large amount of Mizhir Devara’s security forces are withdrawing from Hueromont

The ‘Devara Biotech’-owned security company Rej’Naska, also known as The Revenants, are withdrawing a large amount of their forces from Hueromont. This is all while the conflict in Old Hueromont is still ongoing and the official opening for New Texel is approaching. There have already been speculations on what caused Mizhir Devara to make the call, however we have been unable to get a statement from her or anyone within Rej’Naska. Local Intaki groups have already stated, that they hope that Rej’Naska will be deployed to help with the situation on Intaki, but there have been found nothing that indicates this. Meanwhile outspoken Mannars have declared this a victory and called Devara a coward. Despite all these statements she has chosen to keep her cards close.
Takeoff
One of the Rej’Naska landing crafts taking off from Old Hueromont

Mizhir Devara’s assets will, however, not be left unguarded. Remaining Rej’Naska forces are still overseeing the security of New Texel and Barony of d’Ars, while local forces have been hired to guard the remaining assets and assisting the Rej’Naska.

The last 2 weeks have otherwise been the quietest since the conflict began, however The Hueromont Police force is ready for potential opportunistic attacks, and a Devara Biotech warehouse has already been attacked, however the attack was successfully stopped by the hired defences.

The UNF Deploys; Relief for Intaki Militia Arrives with Chaotic Opening

Earlier this morning, the pair of Chimera class carriers belonging to the United Neopian Federation and Valkyrie’s Curse - the Wellspring Shard and Gray Wolf respectively - deployed from the Intaki V - Moon 5 - Astral Mining Inc. Refinery to sit in orbit of Intaki Prime, in preparation for the deployment of landing craft to make landfall. However, there are several self-propelled multiple rocket launchers and anti-aerospace missile batteries added to the Kainta Yavaat Transorbital Launch facility’s defense complement, around which the LDPS is most heavily concentrated.

The VC Gray Wolf on the left, and UNF Wellspring Shard on the right, undocking with the fleet to meet in orbit of Intaki V.

While the missile emplacements pose little threat to the carriers, they do pose a minor threat to the cruiser and frigate escorts, as well as a serious threat to the landing craft themselves. The range of the AA means landing has to take place far from the front lines, though the infantry and mechanised support will bolster existing ILF static defenses, and make round-the-clock security less of a nightmare.

Before dawn, the carriers had entered orbit of Intaki Prime, but despite planning, their location put them before the Kainta Yavaat Transorbital Launch Facility, moving opposite of the planetary rotation. This meant that several hours had to be spent relocating the carriers at impulse speeds to avoid deploying above Kainta Yavaat.

The UNF Wellspring Shard and VC Gray Wolf guided by two escort vessels, the remaining ships directed towards space to prevent interception during landing operations.

As dawn was breaking over the horizon, an unidentified Stratios was spotted passing over the carriers and escorts at a high velocity, nearly colliding with the Wellspring Shard, having uncloaked by proximity to the fleet formation. The vessel’s trajectory lead it to enter a shallow dive into Intaki Prime’s thermosphere, where it lit up the morning sky and alerted the LDPS below to its presence.

The LDPS tracked but did not engage the vessel as it was out of range. However, several containers were ejected from behind the Stratios, alongside a number of drones, which were launched shortly after, and followed closely behind the falling debris to mask their signatures.

The debris and drones would not be within range of the AA for a few minutes, during which the Stratios pulled out of the thermosphere and begun to circle a ten kilometer area above the Kainta Yavaat Transorbital Launch Facility, likely monitoring the situation. The UNF/VC fleet passed within thirty kilometers of the Stratios, and begun engaging, confirming the vessel was not a part of their formation.

An unidentified Stratios, bearing iconography similar to that of the Guristas, with a few differences noted, but the significance of which has yet to be determined.

During this time the AA was able to engage the falling debris, and attempt to eliminate the drones. It is unknown at this time how many drones survived, but it appears that the LDPS suffered a few losses from a handful or so of drones that came within weapons range, causing some chaos.

The Stratios and UNF/VC escorts were still engaging during the skirmish below, with the Wellspring Shard deploying infantry and vehicle transports, and the Gray Wolf following suit a few minutes after, which bypassed the orbital skirmish and passed along the edges of Kainta Yavaat’s AA range, preoccupied with the drones, with one or two of the attacking drones pulling off of the assault to intercept the landers.

The landers reach the outermost limits of the ILF defensive line, and the drones and Stratios above all break off, the drones flying further west and over the horizon where contact was lost, and the Stratios broke target lock long enough to cloak, after which it is presumed to have warped to a wormhole in the system, as it was not seen taking any gates.

It is reported that the drones did damage a few of the transports before they entered ILF airspace, and rumors are circulating that the Stratios belonged to the Guristas, as several markings consistent with the organisation were seen on the hull by the UNF/VC escort pilots.

Whatever the case, the ILF’s allies have taken advantage of the situation and landed their assets ahead of schedule. Further developments will be reported on in the next few days.

REPUBLIC STAR
BREAKING: INTERNAL MEMO IN MOLDEN HEATH SECURITY INQUEST LEAKED

Re: Molden Heath Security Inquest
From: Galm Eskola-Fae
Sent:
2019.08.19 05:37

ALCON,

I would like to present to all of you, the essential content of todays’s meeting:

To review, we have reason to believe that the Seykal Clan and the Krullefor organization are openly collaborating in Thukker-sanctioned smuggling rings across Molden Heath. It is my belief that this constitutes not only a threat to the locals to have hostile Krullefore and Seykal allied warclones present in the area but also acts to undermine Republic law in local space.
I have attempted to contact the Thukker government directly, but they have been unable or unwilling to reply at this time. While there is no proof that the Thukker are directly involved in Seykal activity in the region, it seems fair at this point to estimate that they are compliant in their activity and that of the Krullefor Organization based on the Thukker’s tentative relation with their CEO.

What’s made all the more complicated, at this time, is the territorial sovereignty of Molden Heath. While the Heath remains nominally under the control of the Republican government, many of the habitable planets are specifically set aside for Thukker settlement. This leaves the sovereignty and administration of these planets questionable. Rule of law is a mess of tribal politics, and it allows smuggling operations like those of the Seykal to thrive

Which leads me to my proposed solution. The thukker had a clear plan of action in reducing pirate activity in the area once before; open previously uninhabited Thukker lands to warclone settlement. Warclones have, by and large, evacuated the region as a part of the Bosena Accords or sought work elsewhere and left these regions in disrepair. Formal military districts and installations like those on Bosena XI are now proving to be hubs for criminal activity while remaining de jure “warclone” territory.

Our operatives have reason to believe that the Seykal and Krullefor have been so widely successful due in no small part to their ability “squat” in abandoned warclone infrastructure across Molden Heath that remains unoccupied. These areas are and remain largely unoccupied, and suffer from extreme environmental hazards due to the warclone conflicts planetside. For any representatives present on Bosena XI, you may have noticed the impact sites and glass pillars surrounding this station on your rotation planetside that gives Terror Maw its name due to the rampant orbital bombardment sites. So long as these hazardous facilities remain largely unoccupied and this territory remains de jure warclone sovereignty they will continue to be breeding grounds and staging areas from both Krullefor and Seykal activity. Thus I propose the following:

I have spoken with Knight Guard Fury, Wardon of Avalon and the de facto head of state for our union of warclones. We have agreed that these districts and territory is largely useless for us as we focus our attention away from Molden Heath and towards our goals of establishing a “homeland” in space via a project we call Avalon.

A majority of warclones support these ambitions, and interest in Molden Heath is diminished. However, given suspected links with the Thukker and Seykal clans I am unwilling to simply relinquish warclone lands back to the Thukker tribe
Therefore, it is my intention to invite all parties here to cooperate on a widescale settlement campaign to encourage Republic and Thukker citizens alike to pioneer these areas to create a large enough population of Republican citizens that these districts can then be marked for annexation by the Minmatar Republic or incorporated into larger Thukker autonomous regions.

This will have to involve collaboration with Matari affiliated organizations like the Electus Matari to encourage resettlement planetside, and organizations like Corovid Industries to lend their heavy industry abilities in creating settlements. Meanwhile Bosena Accords will act as the primary warclone representatives involved in the hand-off of planetary districts to Republic control, and as a peacekeeping force until such a time where these districts can defend themselves without warclone support.
In exchange, the Bosena Accords asks that allied Matari capsuleer groups support our ambitions to create spaceborne superstructures through Project Avalon to act as a homeland for warclones that will take the place of planetary districts in Molden Heath.

In conclusion:

-Seykal and Krullefor Organisations are using abandoned warclone facilities for smuggling operations

-The warclone community no longer has need for these facilities as we turn our ambitions towards space and Project Avalon

-In exchange for Avalon’s nominal recognition from the Matari community, the Bosena Accords and by extension the warclone community will relinquish administrative control of planetary districts across Molden Heath for Republic settlement.

-All parties involved in the summit will be asked to provide diplomatic and material support in this mass settlement project.

-Bosena Accords warclones will provide planetary security and defense for these settlements until such a time that these settlements can stand on their own.

Very Respectfully,

Galm Eskola-Fae
Chief Arbiter, Bosena Accords
Avalon

The Unofficial Tabloid of the Khanid Kingdom
Voted 3rd favourite celebrity rumour source by the people of Geztic III

Kim Kills Providence Procurers!

IN A STARTLING turn of events, it appears Strike Commander Diana Kim of the Caldari State Militia has been leading fleets into Providence to attempt to kill Amarr miners. A recent kill report shows Kim – a member of Templis CALSF – attacking a completely defenceless CVA mining barge in the Providence region of New Eden. Providence has been a vassal state of the Amarr Empire for over 10 years.

Worryingly, Kim has yet to face court-martial for attacking an ally of the State. This follows a precedent set following her pro-Heth Provist lectures in public forums like the Intergalactic Summit. Whilst sources close to the heads of the megas of Lai Dai and Kaalakiota suggest her remarks greatly harm the public relations activities of the megas on a regular basis, it is suggested that she holds enough sway over those in the corrupt Ishukone corporation that she will never face justice.

When approached for comment, Strike Commander Kim threatened our reporter. Openly furthering claims that she feels she has enough clout in the State to get away with whatever she wants, Kim said, “Please provide your full name, your organisation name and address so the Caldari State criminal prosecutor will know whom to charge.”

The capsuleer mercenary organisation she belongs to - Templis CALSF – has not yet faced any action from the State for invading the YWS0-Z system in Providence either. We are yet to hear how the Empire will take the news but with Lord Newelle allegedly challenging Kim on her piracy, speculation suggests attacks in kind on Caldari systems have not been taken off the cards.

All we know here at the Qirna Enquirer is that the Empire will overcome. Amarr Victor!

CODE. in Khanid Controversy

FORMER CODE. DARLING, Ange des Larmes has been seen to be living in the Khanid Kingdom. Sources say that she is residing at the generosity of an anonymous Holder family in Talidal causing local miners to be furious.

des Larmes was ejected from the New Order due to actions that even CODE. considered less than honourable. Whilst the once-poster girl for the New Order claims that she has changed her ways and is studying the scriptures for guidance, many think it too convenient that she is now holed up in a system known for its ice mining.

“It ain’t right”, one member of Khanid Works who wished to remain anonymous said. “You can’t have someone who is known for blowing up miners and halting the production of ships being treated like a Queen on the money made by Kingdom miners! Yes, everyone deserves the chance of salvation but send her off to a monastery! We have enough to deal with with Blooders turning up and trying to shoot us without one of those Code. nut-cases!”

Others, however, claim that des Larmes is now working alongside the Royal Khanid Navy in Kahah as a way of repaying her debt to her hosts. She is, apparently, eager to meet Aga-Count Chakaid who our source states she has described as ‘powerful’, ‘wise’ and ‘handsome’.

We reached out for comment from des Larmes: “It would be rude and dishonourable to shoot such generous guests as the citizens of the Khanid Kingdom. During my stay I have been given the peace, serenity and resources to study the Scriptures and I believe it is right to repay that hospitality where possible.”

As long as her words are truthful, we at the Enquirer welcome Ms des Larmes and hope she has a long and fruitful stay in our home!

Letters!

Dear Sir,

I would just like to say how I appreciate the bravery of King Khanid for standing up for what is right by laying claim to the constellation of Fabai.

For too long the people of Fabai have been neglected by the Empire as their systems do not get the same level of support as the likes of the Sarums of this cluster have for far too long. But under His Majesty Khanid III this will no longer be the case.

All of us in the Kingdom must welcome our new brothers and sisters into the fold when the wisdom of Empress Catiz wisely makes the obvious choice and grants King Khanid his claim. Whilst we in Khanid Transport may need to pull double-overtime in the short term to enable this in the short-term, as we have proven throughout our history the Kingdom will never be bowed!

Victory to the King and Glory to God.

Davon Sefris,
Khanid Transport

Dear Sir,

With news of a Gallente holo-reel allegedly based on the life story of a Retainer of House Sarum being ‘adult-themed’ does this reflect worse on the shameful display of the Gallente or the reputation of the retainer?

Signed,
‘Sarum Family Values’

Ed note – We at the Enquirer do not wish to speculate on the content of nor endorse any Gallente smut but we publish this letter in the spirit of public discourse.

Sir,

With rumours that Overmind Niminen – a fallen True Amarr who is rumoured to have formerly been involved with the Adishapurs and now a high-up in CODE. - is due to announce his upcoming nuptials to fellow CODE. agent Aiko Danuja, does this mean we can finally ignore them Code ninnies as they settle down into married life or should we be concerned that the Adishapurs may now hold greater sway in a pirate faction?

Signed,
Concerned of Kahah

Molden Heath Pirate/Smuggling Awareness Message Board, 20 August YC121

Hey, just a heads up to everyone. There are reports of a violent attack at an Angel Cartel facility somewhere around Heild. Sounds like someone finally got to Maege Linds. For those unfamiliar, Linds was a data analyst for the Cartel, and regarded as sort of an “institutional memory” person among them, as she’d been in that position for a while. Anyway, someone found their facility and got in, taking out a few guards on the way, and quite a few other staffers too.

You might be thinking, “great, nice loss for the Cartel,” but I gotta tell you, the reports are… grisly. Linds didn’t have a great time of it. So if there’s somebody creeping around here with this kind of twisted mind… maybe we’ve got bigger problems than Cartel.

Decade-Old Mystery Solved, But Scars Remain

TRACES OF local bookstore owner and booster smuggler Ira Licei Falconer were identified last week as one of many John Does whose genetic information was found in a deadly fire in Hueromont ten years ago.

The building, a nightclub that was also well-known as a drug farm and home to many addicts, went up in flames in August YC111 after an old-fashioned radiator developed a short. Forty-six lives were lost, and of those, seven were never identified.

A tip from a GalNet commenter led Tessande Noles, Falconer’s daughter, to travel to Hueromont from her home in Caille and submit her DNA for analysis against John Does from the past decade. One unknown victim was a familial match, and was later confirmed via records from Falconer’s University days.

Originally from the town of Moisant in the Solitude region, Falconer moved to Mylain as a child, when he was adopted by his Krusual kin following the deaths of his parents. Widely regarded as a child prodigy, he attended the University of Caille and earned several postsecondary degrees. He was well-liked around Mylain, and his bookstore was the only place to purchase traditional books for many years.

However, Falconer was also involved in synthesizing boosters, and was long suspected of having deep ties to the Serpentis Corporation. Things fell apart in July YC111, when Drienne Noles, his wife, passed away under mysterious circumstances and Falconer himself disappeared. Tessande Noles and her brother, Theodere, have been searching for answers ever since.

“Well, at least we know what happened to him,” Tessande, who is known as ‘Tessie’ on GalNet ‘slashfic’ sites, commented as she left the coroner’s office in Hueromont. “Looks like we’ll never know the truth of what happened that night a decade ago. That’s what I’m really interested in. Not my booster-addled pathetic excuse for a father.”

Noles insists that she has no plans to contest the recent sale of Falconer’s assets, which had been held in trust by his clan. His bookstore is being renovated into a museum of Krusual history by a professor from the Republic, while his home was purchased by a neuroscientist from Caille. The million-ISK reward for information on his whereabouts was paid to the GalNet commenter, who identified themself with only a family name of ‘Blackbird’.

The Noles family now considers the matter closed, and requests that anyone wishing to express condolences over the news of Falconer’s fate forward their kind words to Clan Licei of Moisant.

Gruesome murder in Molden heath

YC121 08 21

News has reached us that a gruesome murder has taken place near Heild in Molden Heath. Six persons were found murdered at the premises of a warehouse location belonging to the Angel Cartel.

Why do we write about this, you wonder? It is because of the way in which it was done. This was no ordinary conflict settlement between rival groups, nor was, the apparent primary target, Mrs Maege Linds, under any direct threat, being an analyst. No this was an execution, of the worst kind.

Sources we have spoken to have described the scene.

“It was horrible, one guard was not only shot in the back but one of his eyes was pressed inside his brain with some sort of sharp object”

We have tried to get more information from the authorities but since this is private property owned by the Angel Cartel, we have little insight in what really happened. We managed to find one of the cleaners, that of the record, told me what he saw:

“It was a massacre up at the office, two people were in the corridor, and I think the one that tried to help the first one was shot in the head from the back, the wall behind was a nightmare to clean. Mrs Linds office, she blead to death, two cuts”

The worker shows me with his hand where and how.

“I am a hunter myself, so I saw by the cuts that the first one was not made to kill, she would have not been able to speak only slowly bleed to death, the second cut looked more like a cut that was there to make sure she was dead.”

We will, of course, investigate further.

Controversial Holoreel Production Ceases

Beyond Horizons Entertainment has announced that production on a controversial, unnamed holoreel involving an Amarr noble and Gallente mercenary has ceased after a sudden and unexpected change in the rights to the script. A producer with the team, when prompted by questions from reporters, angrily explained that the rights to the script were “bought out entirely by the very person that submitted the idea in the first place”. The production team permitted the buyout in the hopes that the involvement of the new rights holder would be beneficial. However, mere hours after the rights to the script were bought, production was ordered to be shuttered and all surviving copies of the script destroyed, save for one which was forwarded to new rights holder. The production team has since announced that they will be moving onto new projects, affirming that they will “never again work with the likes of that man”.

Glass Plant Manager and Daughter Disappear en Route to Poitot

LA HARROULETTE, a daily system news service distributed from Harroule IV in Placid, reports the following:

Social media posts and CONCORD data suggest that there is capsuleer danger to routine planetary traffic. A routine shuttle named “Limnae” from a FedMart storage facility orbiting Harroule VIII Moon 5 and departing at 20:35 failed to arrive on schedule or at any time subsequent. Passenger roster included materials manager Imidane Rache-Pulaj, with an accompanying related minor, and we have been alerted to multiple pleas from Rache-Pulaj’s social media accounts shortly thereafter, featuring the tags #hijack, #concordhelp, and #luneshelpme. System records reflect a minor uptick in capsuled-craft traffic, and stargate use shortly after shuttle departure.

We have as yet been unable to determine the ultimate fate of the “Limnae” shuttle, its passengers, or crew. If you become aware of any developments, we hope you will think of LA HARROULETTE first.

Voices from the Verge

Obray Bureau, Vay - originally circulated YC121.08.25, updated YC121.08.28

Infomorph experimentation? Billions in stolen Roden research components? Suspicious patterns of transneural scanning ‘accidents’? A ménage-à-trois of vengeful FIO defectors? These are just some of the rumors in heavy circulation on local infonets throughout Obray this week.

It began with local fluid router troubles, as errant comms traffic sputtered in from the cluster’s busiest trade hubs and from as far away as Pure Blind, much to the locals’ chagrin. Somewhere, amidst the ghostly chorus of voices, archived channel logs had seemingly begun transmitting, bearing corrupted router timestamps; private conversations that savvy signaleers say must have originated all the way back in August of YC115.

Once the netizens began cross-referencing these entries broadcast erroneously from around Obray, they claim these logs reveal evidence of a plot by Roden subsidiary Allotek Industries to use outcast Minmatar refugees as experimental test subjects. Further digging into the coded messages lead these amateur investigators to implicate Core Complexion scientists as complicit in the program, which they claim was code-named “Nightingale”. The curious and trend-conscious are now eagerly reaching out to nearby systems, wondering if anyone elsewhere in Verge Vendor might have caught a snapshot of these communications.

Theories about the nature of the alleged testing are developing faster than we can cover with any degree of confidence. The prevailing speculation at the time of publication is that the subjects were capsule-rated individuals of Sebiestor heritage (Voices from the Verge has omitted any personal identifiers, regardless of the outlandishness of the claims), trained or supervised by a team of Gallente capsuleers with a litany of FIO entanglements. In what is perhaps the wildest assertion of all, canny theorists posit that, based on the recovered communications, the purported intent of the program was to merge infomorphs into a sort of network while still in their respective capsules.

Not all aspiring signal analysts agree on the nature of the broken broadcasts. There are those who believe there is evidence to suggest a connection to Intaki V, creating strange chronological implications surrounding the nature of recent conflicts there. More skeptical minds suggest the comms might be partially genuine, but are likely part of a Caldari disinformation campaign in constellations bordering State Protectorate forces, using an amalgam of intercepted transmissions.

Complicating some of the claims are public death records for many of the pilots in question, some of who had posted a series of cryptic statements on GalNet shortly before suffering what might be considered suspicious failures of their neural scanning systems. Others appear to have made sudden flights to lawless spaces outside the CONCORD signatories, never to return. Combine this with fragmented logs suggesting the possible location of a stolen treasure trove of the project’s research, and it isn’t hard to see why so many in the Verge have had their interest piqued.

Voices will continue to monitor the comms.
