Regardless, I don’t want to let the assertion that I am questioning whether you play the game or responding to your inaccurate assumptions about my campaign and how it was funded because I am threatened by your candidacy.
If you win and you are successful at disbanding the CSM, that means that I don’t spend every Friday on conference calls with CCP. It means I don’t lose eight days away from my family and being able to bill clients to travel to Iceland twice a year. It means I don’t have to spend hours reading, corresponding with and successfully advocating on behalf of players every day. This has easily been an additional 20+ hours per week of time that I could be doing other things. The CSM gets disbanded and that means I get more free time to play EVE, and I get more time with my family.
I ran, and I knew what I was getting into and I’ll serve out this term, and decide if I want to run again next year.
That being said, I want to disabuse you of the notion that my being on the CSM is somehow all perks and privileges. So far this job has cost me far more in money - and more importantly - in time than I’ve gotten back through whatever benefit being notable is. Mainly it means I get primaried more often in fleet fights.
At least that appears to be one downside to the job you won’t have to be concerned with.
This is starting to sound more and more like jealousy on your part. I think you want to be on the CSM. But, you haven’t presented any knowledge of the game that would gain support. You instead run as a reformist, knowing that there will be no support for it by the other CSM members and CCP. Because of this, your primary goal will fail. But, that doesn’t matter, because you’re where you want to be.
I think it’s clear that what Salvos wants is an echo chamber. There have been 368 posts in 3 days. Only one has voiced support for him and I think that’s mainly to see what would happen. It’s like voting for someone for Prom Queen as a joke.
Perhaps it’s time to give him back his chamber and watch the thread get locked in 3 months due to inactivity.
There will be many more.
The volume of trolling by antipaths in this thread is astounding.
The trolls and CSM establishment want my campaign nipped in the bud before it grows and reaches target audience/voters beyond this board.
They are afraid of the massive amount of voters they have been suppressing/ignoring, and afraid of me delivering on this, because they know that we CAN make this happen, together.
It’s obvious that no one else is seeing this thread. Why not go to Jita, declare your candidacy and point them here? Otherwise, I figure that most people aren’t going to pay attention to anything dealing with the CSM until the elections start up again next year.
It’s the satisfaction of doing the job that folks elected you to do. I’ve got a duty to represent the players and I am not going to shirk that duty because it would be more convenient to me not to.
I wasn’t aware there as any prestige to this job - generally we are reminded by folks that “the CSM does nothing” except when “the CSM is destroying the game.” As for perks, I’ve yet to find any.
This was supposed to be just an early campaign thread, but instead it has, and is, providing more ammo and proof of why CSM program should be changed, exactly as is my mandate.
I knew the situation was bad, but this thread demonstrates in spades that its much worse.
Also a question from me what part of space do you spend most of your play time as your using an alt I can’t tell (I ask to see if you support the space I fly in)
looking forward to your reply
I’m not asking about your alts (the char you posting on is an alt is what I meant) I think you miss understood are you null sec, low sec, high sec or j space
I like to vote for people that understand the space I fly in
Now, I’m all for being a pedantic jerk (no, seriously, check most of the threads on every board I’ve ever posted to. Pedantic jerk? Yo! Right here!) but harping on someone for misspelling ‘council’ with an ‘e’ when the variant form for someone who gives advice does, in fact, use an ‘e’ isn’t something I’d advise.
In other words, councilors may sit in council, on a council, but they offer counsel, and are also counselors in that regard. (See? Pedantic jerk, right here.)
