Running for CSM next year:

And you’ve never had to show identification?

I’d like to see you get through airport security without any ID, cross border travel between Schengen countries may not require a passport, but airport security definitely does.

In travel within the EU Schengen regions, I do not have to show ID at all.

Crazy, I know, but a fact.

This includes travel to Iceland from Finland.

then how did you certify yourself when you purchased the plane ticket?

Schengen area literally only means you don’t need a visa, you still need valid ID such as a passport.
Please fact check before making assertions

Some ask for ID, some do not.

All that matters, is whether its between Schengen agreement countries.
No visa or ID is specifically legallynrequired for transit between any of the Schengen agreement countries.

How do you plan on accomodating global timezones in an 8 hour vcon for those with a 9-5 job?

That is beyond my power, now, and as CSM.

False.

You do not need any ID when transiting between Schengen agreement states.

But you say travelling to iceland is beyond those with a job. (They dont have vacation I guess), and you think that online comms are the way to do it.

So, how to you plan to hold a summit with long meetings, allowing for people who are at work, or have to get up for work, who are not on UTC?

want to show me proof of your claim? because literally everywhere I’m looking right now, suggests I am correct and you are not.

Companies, and especially universities, have solved this by posting a presentation in real time, and then addressing and allowing input thereafter, to which they respond.

This is already happening.

We really need a companion thread to this one where some journalistically talented person can summarize the latest development. I feel like I missing out on some hilarious stuff but can’t be bothered to read 300 posts since I last checked the thread couple hours ago :open_mouth:

same here, literally every website i’ve been to, and every friend i’ve ever talked to from norway or iceland have all said they need ID to travel, they just don’t need a visa.

guys… do… do you think salvos legitimately lives in a paralel dimension to us? and the forums are his only way to communicate with our dimension? maybe thats why he’s so opposed to traveling to iceland for the CSM summit, because he wouldn’t be able to attend due to the dimension shift.

Show me what you looked at.

He technically doesn’t need to show a passport for entry, but can be asked for it at anytime to prove his identity.

Which is why when travelling between Schengen areas it is advisable to carry your passport or government issued equivalent as they are the only internationally recognised forms of ID.

For example the Icelandic Police are unlikely to accept an Finnish driving license as proof of identity if they asked for ID.

We call those…

…Doomchinchillas.
