There should be a higher chance to fail the gank in exchange for a higher loot drop
Whatever you propose we will work around that and compensate for it so it doesn’t fail. Again, don’t suggest changes to something you don’t understand dude. It just makes you sound like an idiot.
Well mining, production and t2 invention actually seems to be your preferred activity. I have never mined and rarely do production
Well then again:
Change scanners to only return 25% of a Ships fitting (with subsequent scans always returning the same result inside a 10 minute window) and increase loot percentage to a higher value.
Again, there are multiple ways to work around that and if you can’t even figure out how you are not the right person to suggest such changes. But whatever man, go pitch your little suggestion. Just don’t be embarrassed if everyone laughs.
Ugh. These threads are so dumb. Always started by people who have no idea what they are talking about, with an inability to listen or think things through.
Why-oh-why can’t we get a “Main Get-Rid-Of-Highsec-Ganking Thread”?
Counter-proposal: Increase Concord response to 30s in 1.0, graded to 90s in 0.5.
You see, I don’t care, I would adapt and thrive whatever…
Get rid of the faction police and the gankers will become a lot sloppier (and easier to interact with).
I mean maybe you are right, considering the answers here.
We have someone who compares citadels with vulnerability timers to ships, someone who loves ganking because it forces him to do his actual Favorite activity, producing ships and t2 invention, and someone who complaints about his own choice of reading a thread.
I know there are gankers out there though who know this game and its mechanics and would love actual gameplay and challenge around it.
There is a balance. We are where we are. Personally I would like the risk profile of hisec increased a little but that’s my preference. In my view a totally safe or risk-reduced hisec would be bad for the game.
I find producing and invention absolutely boring without context. But to fine tune a well running ganking pipeline under the constraints that the drops hardly pay for the invested gank ships is quite fun. The main fun is still the dunking of the miner though, that just never gets old and is one of the most entertaining activities in this game.
It’s so nice of you that you want to make it “more fun” and “more challenging” just out of the good of your heart for an activity you don’t partake in or have no clue about. Such a selfless person. But maybe you should start somewhere where you have some knowledge about the actual activity. But thanks for the concerns kid.
As has already been mentioned every time this is suggested, this results in more ganking. If you can’t get an accurate evaluation of the cargo value you just gank everything and see what happens. What smart players want is 100% accurate scanning so the gankers can very clearly see that the smart player’s ISK to HP ratio does not permit a profitable gank.
No, that would not increase the number of successful ganks but rather the number of gank attempts. Where some ganks are successful and some are not.
Calculating the gank to be always against a good tank fit would become unsustainable pretty fast and thus also decrease the number of gank attempts.
Losing a whole ganke fleet with zero reward would cost more that scale up to beat the max possible tank, minus the non tank modules you see on the scan.
Again, maybe don’t suggest changes about a game mechanic you don’t understand.
Then why don’t you do it now? Why don’t you field a full ganking Fleet and just skip the scanning and the hours waiting for a target, instead just attacking everything that comes in sight?
We both know the answer: it would become unsustainable pretty fast
I mean that is the whole goal you try to achive here with your suggestion. Or did you actually think someone buys the “make it more challenging”?
Well, you just told me you would find away around it anyway, so why do you care.
But seriously that’s not my goal. Exact numbers should be tweaked to still allow profit from ganking with ganks failing from time to time. Hence the increase in drop amount.
I don’t think that hiding fit info is going to stop freighter ganking. Bulkheads and expanders are pretty much incompatible, so if you see a bulkhead they’re probably max tank, and if you see an expander they’re probably max cargo. Hiding the cargo is also weak, people take shots at BRs all the time and again if they see expanders you’re probably carrying something.
And that’s the point, ganking should not be stopped. Doing something because of an informed risk calculation, the “probably” in your sentence, Is a lot more interesting then spending most of the gameplay scanning and having the gank just be a 100% risk free execution.
Oh you really do think someone buys the “I just want to make it more interesting”?
