Okay, I’m going to talk about some boring marketing stuff, but it’s actually important for the survival of this game. Eve has a lot going for it like:

Brand Recognition - The game has been out for over 15 years, it has a loyal fan base, and a lot of people have been exposed to the game over the years making it a well recognized brand.

Starting off in the game is really fun. The diversity of ships, weapons, and career options are amazingly fun, and leave initial impression that anything is possible.

The social aspect of the game is probably the best I’ve ever seen in any MMO. The ease and ability to make friends and enemies is perhaps Eve’s greatest strength.

Eves character creator. To this day I still think Eve has one of the best character creators in any MMO. Unfortunately it’s limited to an icon.
Summary: Eve should have been recoded in a programming language that effectively handles 3D environments a long time ago so they can add additions to the game like planetary landings and first person game-play. I really believe they can still do this due to the lack of sci-fi competition. So far there’s really only 2 major competitors but, I don’t believe they should wait around any longer because that competition is rolling in fast. They need to continue to build the game on its strengths in a programming language that can take the game well into the late 21st century.

Okay, that’s great and all, but seriously. What keeps you coming back to EVE?
For me:
It’s been EVE Radio. The social aspect of the game + the sci fi aspect which makes the game especially unique.
These are things that cannot be found in any other games I’ve played.
