Edit: No, you can’t tractor in yellow wrecks, you get an error message saying that you are not allowed to do so. Just tested it in a Noctis.
Bad mechanic imho. Wrecks should automatically become “abandoned” 15min after spawning (15min is like a standard-timer for many things related to player interaction anyway, so somehow easily to learn and remember). This would give the owner all chances to have them tractored in and looted by an MTU while inside the site and loot them, but others have the chance to do so if he leaves them unattended for a while.
Use your brain; don’t do it in a way that OBVIOUSLY DOESN’T WORK. Implement a solution THAT WORKS.
The number of times that the naysayers point out the OBVIOUSLY BAD SOLUTIONS and then switch their brain off vs. Actually considering an implementation that would work is astounding.
I’ll leave it to you to decide which of those two alternative response strategies you followed.
Then come around with a suggestion that would work instead. You know, putting some effort and thougt about detail into an idea instead of just throwing a wishlist on the table.
Would be a bit too easy to warp to (and kill) the person creating those wrecks if you could do so directly, don’t you think?
You can warp to wrecks on dscan, but with a bit more effort by either finding the anomaly or belt those wrecks are made at and warping to that, or by triangulating the wrecks with dscan, warp drive and bookmarks if the anomaly has despawned. It will take you some minutes though to get to a grid like that, not really worth the effort for some wrecks that you can much more easily create yourself or find by cooperating with others.
Which would achieve nothing because again every wreck of maybe thousands in a populated mission running system would generate a scannable signature? It doesn’t matter what probes you use, the server would need to generate and maintain all those thousands of signatures as long as the wrecks exist. And everytime someone drops these probes, it has to calculate scan-results based on the probers strength for - in the worst case - thousands of wrecks in multiple locations.
I’m fine with this one. Most of the ideas posted here are so ■■■■■■■ dumb. It’s just like a kneejerk reflex for some people to dismiss them out of hand. But I don’t see any particular drawbacks with this one.
Also, I quite like combat probing salvagers. They never seem to expect it. And all those wrecks ■■■■ up my dscan sometimes. The more salvagers out there the better imo.
Sry, there is an argument missing in your post. If you would put a bit more effort into your replies and suggestions, you’d receive less negative feedback. I promise!
You are not actually sorry. You couldn’t’ care less if we put more effort into making an argument. The level of negative feedback from you would remain consistent. Your promise is a lie.
You are a naysayer and a gatekeeper.
You are afraid of anything that might threaten the status quo, regardless of how peripheral it is. Your aim is to constrain and control the discussion of new ideas and to shut down suggestions before they can be fleshed out and elaborated upon. You are a gatekeeper and a naysayer.
