In my thread on the event, I posted an update with a video link that might help you complete points by tourist-tripping into the Drifter WHs. I’ve been looking for a guide/tips/fits on the combat portion of the event in the WHs but you don’t actually need to do those to get points.
Check the video in the post, details on the process start at about the 29 minute mark:
The EVE Online forum thread titled “Scarcity in the Stars: Capsuleer Day XXII Marred by Limited Site Availability” reflects widespread player dissatisfaction with the 22nd-anniversary event.
Key Issues Highlighted:
Limited Site Availability: Players across various regions report a scarcity of event sites, leading to frustration and decreased participation.
Accessibility Challenges: Newer players and those with less advanced ships find it difficult to compete for the limited sites, often being outpaced by more experienced players.
Combat Site Difficulty: Alpha clone players express concerns about the challenging nature of combat sites, with some losing drones and failing to complete sites due to insufficient DPS.
Community Sentiment: The overall tone of the thread suggests that the event’s design may have inadvertently excluded a segment of the player base, leading to calls for adjustments in future events.
In summary, while Capsuleer Day XXII aims to celebrate EVE Online’s legacy, the execution has led to notable player dissatisfaction due to limited content availability and accessibility challenges.
Each of the five filaments have a daily trade volume of about 1.000 in Jita only, not every site drops one and not every filament gets traded so let’s estimate a lower bound of about 10.000 sites completed daily. The whole track requires approximately 20 sites with crafting and selling filaments, so let’s say that at least 500 people complete their track daily purely by running sites. I don’t know what percentage of the player base that is and I’m probably off by a lot.
The drifters will target and kill drones quickly. If you are using a drone boat you have to be quick at pulling the drones in, and giving them a bit of time for their shields to recover before sending them out again.
I have seen drone boats complete these sites, but you have to pull the drones in and out and let their shields recover.
They’re also a bit slow to switch targets to other drones, so I just recall the one drone they’re targetting and let the others keep shooting.
It also helps if you use something like a target painter on the NPCs to draw aggro to yourself first before (and after) telling the drones to fight. I was using a Gnosis (so bonus to drone HP which helps), but with 2 target painters and the occasional recall, I didn’t lose a single drone.
I think you’ve misunderstood my comment, i was pointing out they had clearly used GPT to create a summary of the thread, you can tell from the way its worded, and no, a pile of PLEX doesn’t cost PLEX just incase this was an actual genuine question that you couldn’t manage to answer yourself by browsing the offers page under account management
The event sucked - as they all have for the last few years. It’s always the same things that are brought up: confusing or lack of information about the event, lack of sites, no auto-progress, crappy loot drops, lacklustre rewards, etc.
Totally get where you’re coming from — a lot of the recent events have hit the same frustrating notes: poor communication, scarce site spawns, and loot that feels more like an afterthought than a reward.
That said, not every event has missed the mark. Some in the past were genuinely great — like the Winter Nexus and The Hunt when they were tuned right. They had solid pacing, better loot tables, and actually felt worth logging in for.
The potential is there — CCP just needs to actually listen and stop mailing it in. Capsuleer Day should feel like a celebration, not a checklist grind.
