I could use education on seeing the bright side of things but you’d be a very bad teacher.
But there are effectively fines. Every gank leads to about 0.17 of security status loss. Three ganks and you go from 0.0 to -0.5…for example. Get below -2 and the faction police start chasing you in 0.8 to 1.0 systems…and so on.
To get round this, one can hand in clone soldier tags at a Concord station. One tag adds 0.5 of security status back. The tags cost about 40m ISK. Plus…there is a 6m ISK ‘Concord Fee’ for processing this.
That means that more than half the cost of any gank is this process…and not the Catalyst loss.
Should I wish I was a Whale who could afford a ganking acct? I already know it’s not worth it to a solo player like me as a now alpha player.
If you ever wanted to gank in Uedama I am thinking about you could ask in local for fleet invite
I like working alone nowadays.
And frankly, it’s like shooting the 1st buck (and last) I got. Just too easy.
So it is clear that you still enjoy undocking.
Even if you’re accepted in their fleet doesn’t mean you need to shoot them or their target.
I see value in shooting the blue wrecks before they scoop them.
Remember never shoot their yellow loot of the ganked ship.
I did griefing for a short period before it became ganking, but popping a helpless noob soon fell out of favor with me. I did have fun testing alpha strikes as a test of a latest fit. But you have to remember, this was so long ago, that few could fly better than cruisers.
So ganking is fine by me. I don’t screw with them, they don’t screw with me. Everybody’s happy until they change the wd rules and I can come back and take on some actually worthwhile targets. Meh…
e’rybody WD MB lol.
Now that would be a challenge I would accept if only my base would last more than a flicker of light.
That sounds a lot like whining.
Time for a CBA.
Don’t worry Ana. The more you play and check out different systems, you will start to adjust to how things are set up. You can be killed without warning in all types of space. Spend some time reading up on what each type of space has to offer and spend some time in each to see for yourself. Eventually it will click. If it doesn’t, it’s ok. You don’t need to understand everything right away. Take your time and you learn more each day you play.
Have fun and see you out there!
@Xalon_Hawk Thank you, Xalon. I have been spending time in Lowsec and the unavoidable Hisec while exploring the possibilities, setting up where I want to have a presence and developing plans that hopefully make sense. I need more exposure and to try things out, slowly but surely building a mental image of what I can do and what I can’t do. I have also started an intel profile of those places and their denizens.
I haven’t gone to Nullsec yet so I can’t say anything about it. I want to concentrate on Lowsec for now and not stretch my capabilities too thin. I also have to consider all the jumps involved knowing that death potentially awaits at every gate corner.
I want to take my time and make sure I am comfortable with the risks I take. I don’t mind losing ships but I don’t want to throw them away pointlessly either.

What do you mean? I’ll have you know that since @Rocket_Hellfire came into my life every day has been a little brighter. His smile each time i see him makes me the happiest girl in the world.
10 minutes in a plex pays for 3 cats. You don’t need to be a whale to live your dreams
I suggest possibly joining a corp that holds Sov over systems near your low sec locations. Then you can dip into some null sec with some protection and see how you like it. I’m still adjusting to the different types so you are not alone in wanting to ease into it hmu anytime
Then go and grab him, sis. He’s too arrogant for my taste.
@Xalon_Hawk I will join a corporation in due time no doubt. I don’t want to jump headlong into something I will regret though. It has to fit. I also can’t play anytime I want as I’m sharing a PC so there are barriers to be aware of, least of which my level of understanding.

Please come join Cold Lazarus Inc
Speak with @command_marvs as we want to do lowsec roams plus they have Sov also when you are ready.
@Chad_Frostpacker Thank you. I will check it out when I get home.
Trying to use zKillboard for info on my phone is too confusing
