Security Space

https://evewho.com/ is a great resource.

Also, don’t warp gate to gate (unless it’s in D-scan range and clear). Those smartbombs can sting!

In EVE, experience is the best teacher. One thing a lot of players try to do is “avoid making a mistake”, especially an expensive one. That’s completely sensible, but it also tends to limit players a lot.

A useful attitude might be “fly (usually) cheap, try anything as long as you can afford it, see what works and what doesn’t, try the paths less travelled by”. Once you have a decent ISK income method lined up, you can throw quite a lot of frigates and dessies and even some cruisers away on experiments without slowing yourself down too much.

Of course, since time is limited to gain experience of your own, it helps to do a quick Google or forum dive on some topic for a fast review before plunging in. I can almost always find some useful summary on a topic within 5 minutes of googling. On “avoiding ganks”, for instance:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/sb5hho/how_to_stop_being_ganked/

I find an overview like that helps me avoid the ‘pointless’ mistakes fairly quickly, and lets me concentrate on trying out things that might be a bit more meaningul.

@Kezrai_Charzai Thank you for replying, Kezrai, I value your point of view. I will get more experience as I go but do not want to limit myself by being chicken of course, although the skill queue speed limits me plenty. It would be foolish to try something knowing I do not have good skill in that department.
I do fly cheaper ships and fits to try stuff but there isn’t a lot of things that interest me in the game. I will do P.I with one my alt and I set aside my main to PvP, so I’m kind of in training until I can attack with a serious ship and good modules so in the mean time I can lose fights in something relatively cheap. Wish I had more time to play and more skill capabilities than I have now. I will gain experience as I go along. I’m not worried about isk though.
I did notice all the convenient info on Google and there are lots of videos on YouTube as well so between the forum, internet and other capsuleers there’s enough help to manage and plan for some good fun.

Picture this…

You’re inside the blast radius of a thermo-nuclear explosion. Sure, it’s bright, but is there REALLY a ‘bright side’ to the situation??

@Chad_Frostpacker I thought about it, Chad. I was able to look up Cold Lazarus Inc. and if you and your teammates are willing to have me then I will apply to join you when I get home on Monday.

There are. Those are called security tags.

If it weren’t profitable, your ilk wouldn’t dedicate your Eve careers to it.

In lowsec, take a small but fast frigate and create bookmarks just over 150km from the gates…not on a direct gate to gate path but maybe on a path from a station or moon. You can then jump to these bookmarks and see if there is anything at the gates. If there isn’t, then 150km is far enough that you can just warp to the gate.

On the other side of the gates, create an insta-warp bookmark that’s aligned with the direction you arrive facing.

This will avoid most gate camps…though it may fail at Ahbazon as many of the gate camp ships ( Tornadoes, etc ) there are already some way from the gates.

@Gloria_Exercitus Thanks for the tips!
I haven’t figured how to survive gatecamps yet. Especially when they use smartbombs. I have set bookmarks at a thousand kilometers from gates to observe with my scout/miner when it was safe to jump through so that’s easy but my scout got wasted a couple of times without being able to do anything, I thinks it’s the warp scramblers… need more experience/understanding.
I set my bookmarks on different planes than everything in the solar system so I’m not in the way of any warp vector.
I thought about all that while being away at my sister’s. I only have two characters so I was thinking of creating a third disposable one just to learn how to pass through gatecamps… might call it stuntwoman or something of the sort.

Edit:

Doesn’t that change everytime or do we always face the same way for each gate?

You always come out of a jump in a different location within a 12km sphere.

Or thereabouts…

@Chad_Frostpacker Why did you invite me to join Cold Lazarus Inc. when you do not belong to that corporation?
You belong to Frostpacker corporation and it isn’t in any alliance.

We have a pilot who goes by the name Rodger Longbuck

I will get back on him in January though @command_marvs

Have a schedule I need to take advantage of the skill point market and a few other things on Frostpacker before I can give time for Longbuck

Which also includes tine spent with my code pilot.

@Analoreke_Brunette frosty drinks a lot and is not as efficient as he once was with multitasking.

Oh well okay then :slightly_smiling_face:
Thank you for giving me the name of your pilot in the corporation.

I understand.
Please take care of yourself though!

Frostpacker is also mining HS Ore that will again be contracted to the CEO as we understand that is takes more than a single pilot to make a difference.

I wonder if this involves blowing up a specific pilot for some specific reason.

:smiling_imp:

Good luck with that. I won’t be doing anything in Hisec except transporting stuff from the market to home station.

Afternoon peeps @Chad_Frostpacker good to see you keeping your self busy @Analoreke_Brunette if you’re looking for a corp your more than welcome if you’re a friend of chad we hold sov if thats the sort of thing your looking for

I’m not 100 percent sure if that pilot is an alt account Gough Or wish to try and trust that pilot.

Like I had once mentioned, treat me like a Potential counter productive pilot

Too late Frostpacker, whatever trouble @Analoreke_Brunette will cause in that corp is your moral and monetary responsibility, forever.
