Security Space

@command_marvs had actually accepted Rodger Longbuck the ex hs ganker into his corp.

He is both awesome and aware of Frostpacker and the various aliases we control.

Am sure it is he right Corporation
/ Alliance
for anyone who is interested in moving out to Nulsec

@command_marvs Thank you for reaching out here, Marvs.
I’m looking forward to helping out, support my corpmates and do my best to be as reliable as I can.
I’m interested in Lowsec and Nullsec, not Hisec.
I want to fleet in PvP/PvE, I have an alt that will do Mining and P.I as soon as skills are available.
I’ve been training Analoreke in PvP/PvE skills.
Thank you for giving me a shot.
Will apply today.

If it’s me you’re talking about, Analoreke is my main character in the only account I have.
I only have one other character who is a scout for now until I can train skills for him and I will apply him to corporation as well.
Thank you Chad.

I am no trouble at all and that’s true cause my grandmother always says so

it is true then.

Welcome long lost Sister.

This is not how the engine works. Ships don’t “face” a direction. They are all spheres with velocity vectors. If you’re not moving you’re just as “aligned” with every direction as the one the model of your ship points to.

So the Align Time is arbitrary and I can create a bookmark just anywhere I want to and it would still take the same amount of time to align?

@Uriel_the_Flame You’re saying it’s useless to create a bookmark in the direction the ship is facing, suggested by Gloria Exercitus, as it would still take the same amount of time ie: 75% of speed til warp, correct?

Not sure what this means.

A BM is a point in space. How you mean in the direction the ship is facing? Do you mean a BM is towards the point you intend to pre-align?

Edit: Did you read the support article linked in my post I’ve linked above?

@Uriel_the_Flame
This is her suggestion:
“On the other side of the gate, create an insta-warp bookmark that’s aligned with the direction you arrive facing.”

@Lugh_Crow-Slave says that’s pointless since there is no “front of the ship” when the ship is sitting still right after gate jump ( while it’s still cloaked )

So I’m asking you, I can then create that bookmark anywhere I want and it would still take the same amount of time to align to it.

Yes I did. It wasn’t what I was asking, that’s why I I’m checking back with you.

Yes if you refer to aligning from a total halt. That is your align time in the ship info window AFAIK. Meaning if your ship is not moving, the time it takes to warp to any direction is your displayed align time.

If you fly towards your target (with a 5 degree precision) and move at least 75% speed then your align time is zero and warp instantly the moment you hit warp.

If you face a different direction then your ship have to turn and/or if move at less speed then have to accelerate to 75%+.

Note that if you fly to the opposite direction your ship have to turn even more.

Also if you get bumped that will affect your ship movement vector thus usually prevents you from warping until your ship can properly align or the warp initiation timer expires.

(Assuming you are not scrammed or pointed.)

So in short if we’re talking about warping from a complete halt (which is what happens when you enter a system and under gate cloak) then it does not matter which direction your ship is facing. (AFAIK)

Thank you, that is exactly what I was asking confirmation about.

Just to note to avoid confusion: your ship’s displayed direction and it starting to change the moment you hit warp is not attached to your ship’s movement vector.

So the displayed direction is independent of the game mechanic regarding the vector. This is why it sometimes happens that ships, usually slow to turn ones like freighters warp sideways or partially sideways as their ship’s displayed direction did not reach the warp direction yet, but their actual velocity vector did thus they enter warp regardless of that the ship’s displayed direction did not yet reach the proper direction.

Basically what he says here @Analoreke_Brunette

This is how you can get large ships like freighters or supers to warp sideways or backwards

I bet that’s quite a sight :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Once you start playing the game, you’ll probably see it for yourself.

Do tell.

Hanging outside of Jita 4-4 dramatically increases the chance to see it happen due to the constant freighter (and other kind) traffic.

@Zak_Cracken I think that’s an oversimplification. Some players have been in Hisec for more than 10 years and others are new capsuleers yet living in Nullsec.
And you forgot to mention Wormhole and Pochven.
