You’re “voicing ideas” of a game you don’t play and don’t understand. That’s like someone having “design ideas” about chess, while never having played it, about how there should be 4 grids on the board where you can’t have a piece taken away. And in doing so mess up the game for everyone else.
Go play a game that has this or is single player in the first place, or play EVE and accept it for what it is. Those are your two options. And with that I think we’ve wasted enough effort and attention on someone who (by their own words) doesn’t stick around anyway.
This is a you problem, stop making your own problems other people’s problems.
thats the other thing i dont quite understand thats changed.
the station that i was using when i was flying my ship in and out to pop rats. they had the orange suspect mark on their ship and the system had like 33 people in it. all with security status well above 3.0 and the suspect ship only had -0.3 and that didnt change over the week i saw him / her hanging out there.
but they have to be ganking because the number of blue what i think where concorde ships flying around indicated to me there where player attacked ships.
Unless it’s Uedama, gankers don’t tend to hang out in the systems they actually gank in, at least not in high sec. The ship that is just hanging around outside of the station is most likely a spotter/scanner alt.
The flagged ship did appear to be scanning ships coming and going. so what does this scanning usually look for? are they checking cargo to find targets for their main account? if so why isn’t their main account visible? from memory the way that the local chat used to be it was once possible to see players who have recently engaged with a red mark against them. this doesnt seem possible anymore
You are currently in a 0.5 high-sec system that is right next door to a low-sec system. So yes, there are going to be gankers passing through there, along with low-sec PvP’ers.
If they have a yellow skull next to their name, that simply means they have a security status less than zero. If they have a yellow flashing skull, that means they are a suspect, and anyone can attack them freely for 15 minutes. If they have a red skull, that means they have a security status less than -5. If they are flashing red, that means they just ganked someone.
And yes, they are scanning your cargo and ship fit to see if you are a viable target.
no i mean in the overview. they would be connecting to the main and alt account at the same time wouldn’t they?
that being a luxury that i simply dont have anymore on my machine because you can only have one instance open through steam from my understanding using linux.
Yeah, don’t play EVE on Steam. Use the actual launcher. And you can have as many Omega accounts open at the same time as you have the computing power for.
Be aware of the space you are in, your surroundings, and don’t AFK. It’s that simple. On my main mission running toon, I’ve only lost a single ship in 7 years. And it was purely my fault. I took a phone call and forgot about being on a gate and my gate cloak expired. It happens.
I’ll be completely honest. I didn’t read a single word past this point.
Absolutely nothing you say beyond this has any relevance at all, because EvE is clearly not the game for you. Don’t feel bad, because this is the case for many people. The problem that arises here is not one single suggestion you could make would be good for EvE. Any suggestion you made would be antithetical to the very core tenet of EvE, which is a sandbox PvP game. There is zero aspect of EvE which is not entirely focused on PvP, for almost everything on the market is put there by players and the market is a form of PvP in EvE. EvE stands for Everyone vs Everything.
