[September] Upwell Cargo Deposit

You are debating something you know nothing about.

You have never owned an Upwell structure have you?

He has a point; if you are able to anchor your structures on an asteroid belt and mine/dock or drop without moving, you’re engaging in some sort of exploit as structures are not meant to be able to be anchored within 1k of an asteroid belt, same for many other objects.

“eliminating the need to haul or dock when mining is nothing” would not be possible without an exploit of some kind breaking existing game mechanics.

Could just restrict access to the delivery deposit to certian ship hulls

this ^ If there is an exploit that allows people to mine in the security of their citadel, then this exploit is the issue.

The question was “how so”, you’re answer was that you have no idea what YOU are talking about.

Good suggestion, but this could still be abused if that’s the only restriction

Preserving this because it’s hilarious.

Copmletely useless option.
If you want to kill scams with courrier contracts - just make it possible to use this option to those who acepted conctract.

In fact - we just need to use fitting and hangar service on the structures where is no dock but friendly.

PS. Good idea and bad realisation - as always - thx CCP

CCP is not going to stop deploying this feature. It is just a matter of trying to limit the damage

It’s already pointless.
Outside of numbers on killboard for each one killed super goons produce 10.

I’m curious how many of you are crying salt over this, has actually been on SiSi to test it and what all you can or cannot do?

Yes I have. You can be pointed while in range of a citadel and are able to deposit whatever you want from your cargo into the citadel. As long as you are not aggressing you can do that… there’s absolutely no way to prevent it.

Muchas gracias

@CCP_Fozzie One catch, most serious haulers will use contract alts and hauler alts. As it exists on SISI right now, populated containers can still be used to scam, due to the fact that you cannot item exchange contract a populated container.

The problem is, while you can hand off the package from your contract alt to hauler alt via in station trade upon pickup. There is no way to get the package back to the contract alt once you deliver it to a citadel you cannot dock in.

There should be some form of Remote Delivery or rewrite the Item Exchange portion of the contract system to allow populated containers.

Haulers cannot tell if a courier contract contains a populated container until it’s accepted to move, at that point the trap is already sprung.

Somewhat hypocritical, isn’t it, Trade?

Industry and market jobs keep going unless they take the module offline. Park an alt and when jobs are done you can contract the items over and leave.

Or just wait for asset safety, but this isn’t my concern really. It’s the accumulation of patch on top of patch when problems don’t find whole solutions, but only get quirky fixes. As a result does the mechanic become more complex than it needs to be and the learning curve for new players just keeps climbing. So now can items be delivered in more than one way, while it partly undermines access rights. If problems received whole solutions and followed intuition instead of adding exceptions then we didn’t have this problem. And I already mentioned how it nukes scammers all to the joy of haulers, making it look like favoritism.

It doesn’t matter anymore. It’s been put through and it’ll stay this way. They no longer care.

Not really - new scam would be misnamed pick up station. You take contract because you know citadel name. When docked you see there is no package there, but it is on other citadel you cant dock and have 1 letter changed. Sounds familiar? :stuck_out_tongue:
5 days asset safety timer guarantees courier contract expire.

I really dont know why it cant show item hangar and let players also take items from citadels they cant dock.

–edit–

After some though with free access to item hangar would allow using enemies as free refit staging. I suppose some fee could apply, paid to citadel owner, if you want to retrieve items when you are unable to dock - ie 15% (same as asset safety to low sec). Courier scams usually have some very cheap items with big collateral.
If you have PvP timer you shoudnt be able to use it (not only weapon timer). So if someone attacks you you cant just drop all items on enemy citadel and then asset safety it.

Well it is hardly game breaking and I could use this to move some stuff out of deep NPC null

We’ll just have to blow up the whole ship instead.
