Shareable Bookmarks: Alliance Bookmarks and More!

At least let us Move & Copy BM’s & folders FFS !!!

You break something so fundamental to the game, and then ignore everyone. Awesome job.

Remember, those guys in Korea are watching.

I have no personal bookmarks.
Tried moving them all to a single folder that was the first visible when i right clicked - It worked 4 times and now all the bookmarks are just gone.

One alt in the same corp sees all shared bookmarks and another alt in same corp cannot even see an onlined shared corp folder…WTF???

Is there a way to prevent myself from being added to unwanted access lists? An unknown shared folder has appeared and I can’t remove it, the only right click option is to online it.

Well, we’ve had an update, not sure what it fixed, because it’s more broken now. Every single folder, all of them, is now expanded, and that can’t be changed.

And Online Private Folders ARE STILL NOT SORTED!
And they continue to open/move to the left instead of being in their subfolder.
Get this done first please. What a mess…

As an example, here the Online Private Folders are NOT sorted, and SOME of them (B and A) have their bookmarks MOVED/OPENED to “the left” and visible, and NOT in their subfolders (as with E, D and C). CONSISTENCY IS KEY.

I can take 3 different characters, all in the same solar system, at the same spot in space, with identical folder and subfolder structures (both onlined private and shared) and with an identical set of bookmarks… and when I right-click in space, select “Locations”, I can get 3 different results.

“Coding achievement unlocked”.

That was fast… Problem is now SORTED!
Thank you CCP!

Dear Dev’s,

can you please integrate the new BM mechanic to the old BM mechanic like this:

I think this is a perfect mix of the feature from the new mechanic and the perfect usefull mechanic from the old BM mechanic.

Cheers o7

Agree,

My first reaction was : desapointed, then this patch is perfect, then something doesn’t work.

While i was probing and bookmarking, i had all my bm under the shared location on top, then everthing changed when i had more locations added. Not the same place visually anymore and the shared location name in grey turned into a folder or something.

The shortcut idea is a good idea, the trick is : i feel the command is not always taken in account, like a delay and it is like making a right click only, wich make loose more time than using the shortcut (when the shortcut works, you save time.)

As Luke said, we need, to be happy, that the shortcut directly open the box with the bm only. Not to right click while we keep the short cut pressed. Something doesn’t work well with it.

The location folder is in fact a false good idea. If you mix bookmarks on the root of the shared folder plus you use subfolder, it creates something confusing, specially added with the location option. You created a folder (Location) that organize well if you put your bookmark in the root. But only in this case. If you used folder in the past, and you want to do it with the new system : it creates a longer path, too long.

My personal pet hate with the new BM’s is that you can’t edit the lifetime of the BM other than making it last for ever. The fact you have to go back to where you first created the bookmark, delete the existing one and create a new one, simply to change the lifetime from 3hrs to 2 days etc. is a nonsense. This particular code has all the hallmarks of being designed by someone who’s had bookmarks described to him/her, but has never played the game and has therefore never seen or used one ‘in the flesh’. If this is the way of the future evolution of Eve, it’s not exactly encouraging…

Also would be great to can set a different default behaviour not just to root folders but sub-folders as well so for example can have a shared folder that by default has never ending lifetime for the bookmarks but can have for example a salvage sub-folder which has a default lifetime of 3 hours for bookmarks in it.

Still one layer too many it seems. Would still prefer to have some in the root directory–even if non shareable,

Yeah i can already imagine this trust working out so well.

“No, your Maze is in CCP-US. Jusst ignore the other 5 on your way.”

A real CCP …
Big hype for a implementation by people who obviously never used the BM system practical. Given this ultra limited crap the previous system was good.
This is a significant step backward …

I want to be able to broadcast “align to” and “warp to” on a bookmark while in fleet.

I want it too

Why can’t I move a sub-folder from one folder to another ?? Another indication that the new BM system was written by someone who doesn’t actually use BM’s…

eta: And why does the People & Places window not re-paint or scroll properly ?

the best way to use bookmark now would be to add them to the overview, that would solve the folder problems. You could still classify your bookmarks into folders but once in a system with bookmarks you’d see in the overview “folder_name/name of BM” as an object

This gets even more maddening. I’ve created a Shared Folder in Shared Locations, and set Admin access to an access-list of just me, but all other accesses to an access-list of 8 named characters. None of those characters can see this shared folder, so how do I make it available to them ? I’m sure this worked OK the other day, did it get broken again ?

eta: I just checked, this was working OK before DT yesterday.
