Shooting new players is a good thing! YES or NO?

Wow, that’s bad…

Actually sometimes is what you can/need to do – but I suppose it is very specific case of knowing that you are going to be besieged by small nasty frigates… is very valid rule of thumb though.

The poll settles at 70/30.

Another Solstice alt!

Yeah, I know. I didn’t know anything about fitting ships back then, lol.

That can’t be, I read in another thread 90% of the players in HS hate PvP.

where ? please link it if you could,

getting killed did not make me leave, talking for myself, I hardly felt hate for pvp after my first few losses, when basically I was dreaming about a calm industrial carreer path within EVE though I got into fleets running counterpiracy roams that were well organized by players whom tought me the basics of pvp, I learnt very useful things, pvpers tought me things I never expected and that knowledge enriched my gaming experience up to a degree I couldn’t have never expected before getting involved into pvp,
the game became richer for me, as I discovered somehow what for me is the best computer game I’ve ever known and it would be very appreciated if it could remain as it is in terms of pvp engagement rules…
experienced PVPers, gankers, pirates and wardec corps are ok, fair play is up to you depending on how fair you wish to be, as long as you give’em something useful after their lost, that won’t hurt the game, instead it might add value to certain newbies’ experience whom might be looking forward to a soon start into some pvper career in EVE , whilst in opposition eliminate confusion within other players’ community perhaps not so pvp focused, but whom might also participate in a long term playing experience as they wish.

Started eve with the idea of becoming a trader.

Died to some WTs while in the eve uni, then went on some pvp roams probably to learn to “defend” myself.

After getting the taste for pvp, I haven’t really revisited the idea of becoming a trader. Instead I became a lowsec solo pirate for most of my eve career. Yarrr!

I started gaming with Age of Empires, mainly player strategy games and first person shooters. When unreal tournament came out, it was great, shooting people in the face and being killed in a virtual world.i never played another mmorpg before or after EvE.

EVE is not like any other computer game, the closest thing I have experienced is a casino. You can choose the game you want to play, but you are competing for the same pot of cash as everyone else, even when they are not directly gambling against you.

If you join a poker game without reading the rules or some basic strategy, your money will be taken. Either by a player that specialises in targeting inexperiened or drunk players, or as collateral damage when another player is out to get paid.

If you play any game in a casino, you are risking your money and should be aware that there is almost a guarantee of a big loss at some point. Don’t gamble with money you can’t afford to lose.

Being killed in eve is not the end. It is just a part of the learning process.

I guess people are voting with their feet

Even if those numbers were correct. Like comparing Mcdonalds to Miller and Carter.

Maybe there would be 1 million people on eve if it was ported ( and playable ) to iPhones, iPad’s, Android Tablets and Phones, PS3/4 and Xbox too?

You should compare excel and pacman, that would be relevant.

The phrasing is a bit intemperate, but s/he ain’t wrong…Oh no, they most certainly ain’t wrong.

It. I identify as a tree.
