Shooting player’s spaceships in EvE is not toxic behavior

The only griefer here is him

Heh. I see what you did there.

Then don’t give them profit.

Gankers don’t profit off ISK faucets. They profit because other players make it profitable to be ganked.

Anyone can make a choice to not be profitable to gank and the issue you have with it would go away.

So what?

Firstly, this is easily worked around. It only takes an Orca to make that an irrelevant change.

Secondly, when all characters are created their home system is in highsec. If they never move it, where would their clone go if they get podded? - to a station, effectively allowing them to be docked; and if they move their clone to a central location before being on the “you can’t dock list”, then they still dock and the only impact is they’d need to make a few jumps in a pod to get back to their staging Orca for the next gank.

Why not?

Is the ganker’s fault peeps don’t even do basic opsec to keep themselves alive?

Yes it is. The game is designed so that you can be shot at anywhere. It’s not a debating or arguing matter. That is how it actually is.

Tough words. Why are you here (which also means you are one of the rubbish that you are talking about)?

Ma’am, this is America. Please speak English.

Ganking… we’ve been through this before… many times.

We did not come to an agreement but most understood some facts.
I wouldn’t go as far as to ban the topic, but I recommend (again) to stop questioning it.
We have provided enough evidence that ganking is fundamental, encouraged and protected in EVE. I recommend also, for those planning to argue this again, to dive the forums for answers. They are all there.

I also encourage an apology. Those comments were stupid and quite insulting. You can always blame it on being drunk or angry. We will accept it anyway.

Oh, and do not do this again.

I think this would actually be a very interesting social experiment.

Or tether.

Ye realize, when you say this, we giggle

Me and Lucas and the other anti-all-PvP-in-highsec-crew ain’t reading all that. Like Lucas and I agreed earlier, it’s best when we just ignore certain data or make up reasons it doesn’t apply.

I’m sure it supports our case. We of the anti-ganking-in-highsec-crew (wardecs and duels are OK) were handed a playbook of responses on Reddit, but I’m not sure which one to use in this instance, so I’m just going to list them all:

  • “Nope”
  • “This data is too old, the gaming market has changed; or it’s not old, but it’s not a reflection of the gaming market; or it is a reflection of the gaming market, but not the right gaming market; or it’s the right gaming market, but the data is wrong and the truth is something else.”
  • “That was old CCP employees, they don’t matter now; or it’s current CCP employees, but the wrong ones that don’t matter; or it’s the ones that matter, but they don’t matter enough; or it’s the right ones, they just misspoke and really meant something else.”
  • “The data is incomplete; or the data is not from CCP; or it was from CCP but they contradicted themselves and it’s the other thing that matters; or they didn’t contradict themselves but it doesn’t matter, the truth is something else”
  • “Ad homonym! @ISD
  • “Cherrypicking; or if it wasn’t cherrypicking it came from someone we don’t like; or if it came from someone we do like we now don’t like them; or if we have to keep liking them we will put them in the ‘do not like’ category anyway and declare them an enemy, because the truth is something else”
  • “Ignore what someone said and make up what they really meant; if someone accuses us of not actually comprehending what was said, repeat the action; if they still accuse us of the same then repeat until they are exhausted and they look stupid.”

Take that, ganker scum!

You sure? Because I remember before this whole ganking thing blew up because it was pretty much the sole remaining vector for non-consensual PvP that wars were most definitely not OK according to you and the rest of the anti-all-PvP-in-highsec-crew.

DC with the receipts

Unlocked a memory too. I had forgotten I’d read that article and that’s what drew me to EVE too when I found the devs had played UO and actively PKed/PvPed.

Good times.

That’s another duck test.
I prefer the Marx Brothers’ version: “He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot, but don’t let that fool you. He really is an idiot.”
Anyone is of course free to apply it whenever they deem it appropriate. Lucas uses that version quite regularly too.

Nope, I never said that. And don’t quote me on it either.

You pro-ganker shill alts and obsession with “things blowing up”. Why can’t you have a rational discourse like the rest of us civilized real-life-lawful people, all you do is personally target me for having unbelievable ideas. We only discuss using the correct dictionary terms to propose our anti-newbie-ganking (other ganking is OK) ideas. Because we want to make Eve Online the most game ever, and y’all just want to kill it off. Though that won’t stop us from dancing on its grave in celebration – because finally no more PVP in high sec!

You pretty much nailed it with that post, and Destiny with the previous one. Is there some way to permanently bookmark these…as all that will happen is they’ll slip off the page after 500 lines of spam and we’ll be right back to square one and struggling to find those excellent posts that spare us having to re-hash things all over again in some endless Groundhog Day of posting.

What’s funny is he thinks he wins when he does that.

In reality, we’re his only reason for existing
