Siege Green - Manufacturing and Ship Blueprint Updates

It’s almost like CCP should start doing weekly questionnaires or something to understand what the player base sentiment is regarding this stuff…

So since you acknowledge that wh players are less enthusiastic, what have you done or intend to do to address their concerns? What do you think would improve the changes for wormhole gameplay?

Some people say Astrahus should only be run by groups, not alt corps or farm holes. But that doesn’t really change anything. If you have a group of say seven real people, and three of them are away on a weekend trip - if the structure gets attacked while they are away, they’ll lose all their assets without ever having the chance to defend them. Even if the other four players log in multiple times per day to check for an attack, which is apparently what CCP now demands from everyone running a structure in wormholes.

Note that this makes actual showdowns/fights for the timer even less likely. Because obviously the attacker will always be prepared, while defenders will have only hours to react and try bring in friends, even if they notice the attack quickly.

The changes are nice to have, but fall short on the requirements for WH gases. There are just not enough WH gases available to build caps or supers in bulk. Check the availability on wormhole gases in Jita and imagine how many caps you can build with them.

Players (most of them) are eager to use caps, fight with caps, loose caps. This is only possible if they can be provided in bulk.

you cannot win in lowsec, which is why nobody ‘invades’ low sec. NPC stations cannot be conquered.

Oh you’re one of those…

I used to collect Magic TG cards when I was a kid, hungry to have the biggest collection among my friends I traded all my SNES games for each of their collections… Great big collection of cards… Nobody left to play them with!

I was about 13 though! Call this naïve, but I’m pretty sure that any alliance that came remotely close to conquering New Eden would start shedding corps and/or commit seppuku for the good of the game!

We all play for fun, don’t tell anyone, but the politics is largely smoke and mirrors. Proud Horde and former Test pilot here… I no way believe CCP somehow conspired to keep Goons alive like some of the rubbish being touted on here!

The upcoming structure changes in hisec will imho lead to a lotta very un-interesting structure bashing of what are basically undefendable structures (unless you’re corp can field (and possibly lose) 20 nightmares and 3 basilisks as the wardecced corp brought at the latest attack on my Athanor). Bit hard to field with a corp of 3 active players.

In all attacks on the structure sofar I was not able (as gunner) to destroy even a single ship with it (even shooting at belt rats was took forever and was not worth the ammo).

Why not make it more interesting by buffing the Athanors (and other small structures) weapons & defenses so you can at least, as a small corp or solo gunner, take some (expensive) ships down with it.

Didn’t stop you from claiming that PAPI wants this during the war though

As an industrial player in highsec, the only things that this change will have on my game play is the availability of factories, the amount I make per job and the increased risk of research opportunities for BPO’s.

After the introduction of quantum cores back in Jan 2021, I experienced a significant change in availability of facilities in highsec. Hopefully this change does not result in a further reduction.

To address the structures being able to be defended, maybe CCP doesn’t see any corp being able to have a structure in space as a good thing, maybe they want us to have to move stuff around so we can make stuff. This leads to greater opportunities for attacks.

As to the blueprint changes proposed, CCP introduced the new components last year and people invested in these new technologies, now CCP proposes to cut the input cost of some of these by more than 50% in one go. That is one way to crash a market or restrict availability.

At least CCP is now telling us of these changes while they are still in development, giving feedback is our way to help reveal many aspects that these changes may have. Thank you CCP for introducing this process.

Like I said, I’m going to insist on CCP-enforced status quo. Changes to the game were too destructive to continue.

I haven’t. Though not for the lack of trying - the supply chains simply got way above reasonable tedium.

Guess my expectations for reasonable changes were set too high then.

Let’s raise our glasses to the final death of small collectives in W-Space!

Did they even change these Zirn-specific components with last years update? After all this is focused on the PI and R4 based components + the LS-gas stuff.

I am trying to get CCP to add an additional two days to the timers in WH space.

The level of cuts in price seem acceptable but the method could be better. I would rather have all adjustments be made on the component level instead of a mix and match. This would allow for an equal reduction in costs across the board, thus avoiding any power imbalance caused by this. Also, k-space gas and isogen needs are still too high. Lowsec can not keep up supply for the materials it holds that are essential for production.

The 1 Capital Core Temperature Regulator should be removed from the Bowhead, Charon, Fenrir, Obelisk and Providence.

This 1 part with the new changes still cost something around 1B each.

These capitals are the blood that keeps industry, commerce, logistics going on this game. They have no other purpose, they have no defenses, they die to any organized gank team with low effort and low cost, they should be easy to replace.

Without this part these ships will have a round sell price of 1.4B to 1.5B that is a fair and good price for the importance they have in this game vs how easy they are to kill.

Much appreciated Brisc.
I fully support the changes above in a k-space world as long as asset safety is a thing.
For J-space things are a little differently.
With eviction meta as it stands defending as a small entity (read <15 humans) against the ‘big evictors’ was hard if not impossible before these changes. Without a decent network of friends and a route in, denial of loot and content was the only real option you had.
With the removal of filaments from wormholes (which definitely was a good thing) you can’t reliably deny them their loot anymore without outright thrashing all of it.
With the changes as it stand (a single timer 1.5days ±3hrs) even thrashing all of it becomes a race against the clock. With an aging playerbase that has less time to constantly monitor their space assets i feel like a 2.5 or 3day reinforcement window feels more appropriate.
Another idea i read somewhere suggested that maybe raitarus and athanors could be changed to the new system, but the astrahus kept as-is (or maybe it can even be limited to ‘only in J-space’ if they want to combat k-space structure spam)

I’m definitely not saying no assets should be at risk at all in J-space, that would not be fun. I’m just thinking about those smaller groups that probably require a little time than 1.5days when all of their assets are on the line.

It has now been 24 hours since my previous post about Titan components being completely wrong in the spreadsheet provided from what SiSi actually shows, here are some examples that could be noticed at a simple glance.

According to the spreadsheet:

  • Titans apparently use the Capital Drone Bay, each end every one of them…
  • Titans use Capital Siege Array, all of them (except the Vanquisher I guess, unless “-” implies it’s “unchanged”)
  • All titans use Capital Launcher Hardpoint (not just Komodo/Leviathan)

Then there is a thing about the numbers being correct and so on…
Should I just copy-paste SiSi actual numbers here to have the spreadsheet fixed or what?

So you introduced a new content for capital ships, making many, especially newer players, to build or buy said ships for inflated prices, only to sharply reduce the price again.

Year is a very long time to idly wait and see, just in case someone at CCP changes their mind.

I though the goal was to reduce capital proliferation to fix the nullsec, as stated by CCP employees time and time again. I guess it was just a lie.

My “bitter vet” friends, who left the game already and are not coming back any time soon, were right;
"The only way to win, is to not play."

three groups controlling the game is already an impressive level of stagnation, and we all know frt is not going to do anything to contribute content.

This could be me, but I don’t think this will solve the problem of how expensive BSs and greater have become given you still have reactions in these sub-components and now you guys are about to make it super more likely your mediums refineries in low doing these reactions will be targeted and lost now that it is basically 1 timer and done.
I just don’t see how making it harder for structures to do their things and forcing L or XL structures to be sub’d into this role M refineries that are already poorly self-defended would help industry players.
I see the problem continuing being larger groups tend to keep these sub-components for their own supply-chains and not sell them at this level (in general). Smaller groups tend to have the M refinery and do the reactions and bring them over to the market for ROI to keep the operation going. My opinion from what I typically see. The way the market has been going it seems there aren’t serious large groups out there producing these items in enough bulk straight to markets or the prices would’ve fallen by now.
To me the answer of lowering prices would be to make it easier to create these sub-components if the answer isn’t rolling back these industry changes from a year ago. And by making M structures blap-able in 1 Friday night fight seems to be a reversal of this combined with how much of the last few months (beyond has been dedicated to new player outreach and trying to get people to Omega and come back and continue) why significantly hinder this? Kicking over castles seems already easy enough to do to these people; we really need to make it even easier?
Also, why would I use any of these sub-components on anything other then dreads now that the prices for them are what they are and the inputs for them have had the largest skew? If I am able to get these minerals out of low/null/WH, why would I bother with the ROI of anything else but dreads? I see a rush to dread production leaving behind all other ship classes. But I guess the dread rush is intended game play.
Elevated prices seem to be here to stay for everything but dreads (generally speaking).
