the permanent destruction of all modules and ships with no salvage or loot outside of the pvp rooms does create a sink. now this can be mitigated by proper fits and practice in the abyss along with knowing your limits. now the investment amount is different with the changes to resistance modules and some damage types but overall there has been little impact on the sub T5 abyssals.
interesting. never done this abyssal stuff before, tried it in a beam fit omen on my alpha and was comprehensively beaten by some damavik frigs. After a bit of consideration i tried again with a pulse fit dual web maller and had no issues, aside form it being a bit slow. Even had a damavik frig room with the maller and got through it comfortably, no cap scares even had time to lock up a cache and kill it with drones.
Again, that’s NOT an ISK sink.
My two cents:
Ok. But it still destroys a lot of ships. Destruction is good.
“Wherever it says Abyssals got nerfed”
Thank you. They did. Don’t know how much because
But still, abyssals personnally feel like living on the edge every second matters and if you do one thing wrong you’re dead.
Except they won’t do them. But if you manage to make them want to do titan and super abyss *triglavian titan cough cough (alliance glory etc), THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
All of you doing T1s in frigates:
WTF??? They are less profitable than doing lvl2 missions for lord’s sake!!! Abyssals got nerfed, and the reason you can breeze through T1s is because they are T1s and suck. Try T5s with your bling fitted gila and die there.
Ok. They nerfed EHP on ships with fitted resistance modules. That means nerfing all ships’ survivability. They didn’t nerf anything from the abyssals. Meaning our ships VS abyssal ships, our ships lose more.
Yeah that, so CCP learned and decided not to use the excellent idea of balancing (amount of SP depending on the amount of ISK blown up cough cough and other excellent ideas from this forum (excluding trolls…)), but to tell people who to kill to avoid the problem. This will (hopefully) give abyssals a boost (it won’t because the SPs aren’t worth the ship, which they’d lose to officer fitted gilas), and also make people lose more money (again they won’t, it wouldn’t be worth it)
I’ve been suggesting one thing over and over again: vanity items. Colorful OP frigates for something well balanced and worth it and titans would be dying all over the place. Some medal for “best coalition of 2020” and a frigate that does battleship damage and has signature radius 5, for those who want to show off, and the Mittani would be back on the stage with the rest of them to blow titans on each other.
(or, restart everything, it won’t be popular, but a bad action is better than a worse one.)
First off, no, it doesn’t.
As it relates to the topic at hand, again, like I’ve been saying since the start of this thread, you can complete these dailies in a T1 Abyssal pocket. Which, unless your ship’s fit is appallingly horrific, you will not lose anything.
Second, this isn’t about destruction of ships. This was specifically about the comment regarding Abyssal ship loss being an “isk sink”, which it is NOT. Personally, I feel like it’s a good idea for people to know what they’re talking about, which is why I explained what an ISK sink actually is, vs what it isn’t. There are enough morons on this forum going around talking about junk they don’t know about. We don’t need more.
When people say “isk sink”, it actually has a specific meaning that is understood by the developers (i.e. ISK taken OUT of the game). But too many people use that phrase to mean, “I personally spent some isk on the market”, but they don’t have the 2 braincells to realize that the ISK actually goes to the player selling that item on the market.
CCP is so desperate…
Typical Eve-moaner :-
YOU want something removed which lots of other people enjoy, just because YOU don’t want to do it - when YOU could simply ignore it and go do something else…
A typical case of “CCP, design this game around MEEEEEEEEE !!! No-one else matters !”.
Well, it is instanced content in a PvP centric game. It takes players out of the universe for like 55 minutes of every hour that they do it. So, I do consider this to be a valid criticism. Of course, I seriously doubt that CCP will ever scrap the abyss, and it becomes less of a problem as player numbers rise. So, hopefully they keep creeping upwards.
Yeah. But most times it’s in a context and you can clearly with your ample braincells tell what context is which, just like when I say “tell”, you’d know whether it is the context of “tell him to stop”, and “tell a lamp from a candle”. The devs would probably do the same (I hope they are smart enough to do that).
Abyss can be easy, and is doable for Newbros. But they have to learn some basics, which is actually nice:
- Learn to switch to naked clones in a cheap and quick way - one problem with DC, and your capsule is dust.
- Bring a ship to kill small fast objects, but also battleships.
- Loot is nice, but not necessary. It takes time to burn through the pocket to loot the spots, Most players just loot the central spot close to the gate, I reckon.
- Time: 20 minutes. No idling around. No answer the door or phone.
- Have a plan B for when your drones are gone, until you found out why the Hek all the Drones disappeared that fast.
Enjoy!
BTW to all grumblers over here: There’s also a great buff, the T2 brawlers are marvellous now. Gonna try a Retribution tonight.
No tasks showing in game yet.
This was fun!
Did they forget the update?
Nothing showing for me, either.
Same here…finished an abyssal site and no reward?
so this does not work lol
No objective for me either. I ran an abyssal filament to see if it showed up once there. No such luck.
promises promises
Well it looks like Skillers in the Abyss may be Dead in the Water. @CCP_Dopamine - any updates on this?
There was a time when developers actually tested features before release. Feel like a boomer now…
