An accurate description of your obviously panicked use of newbies when you very ignorantly thought that the event somehow made you more of a soft target then you already are. The pixel fear was palatable.
Thatâs quite noble I guess.
This is just not my way of seeing things, as I do prefer games to stay true to their nature, even if it leads to their death (that will inevitably happen at some point anyway), rather than âhelping to keep the game aliveâ, by actually not playing the game as I want to play it.
If it makes me selfish, so be it, but I see no point in âkeeping the game aliveâ if what I keep alive is not what I actually wanna play to.
What makes me think this way isnât a desire to be noble. Itâs self preservation. I like the game and donât want it to die. Hereâs the realityâŠpeak player count is say, 31k players. You can divide that figure by at least four (and thatâs being generous) due to alts. In reality, there is no more than around 6k players. I donât judge others who feel differently and just kill and walk away. Ideally, Iâd like it to be that way but if you look up my KB, youâll see why I am concerned for new players lol
Bollocks.
Rather than just type the same word to every reply, please explain âwhyâ my comment was bollocks. There is clearly a huge no. of alts in this game and an average of three/four is being generous. Let me ask you this question then, how many players (not alts but players) would you estimate in this game?
I honnestly believe itâs the exact opposite tho. There is a huge no. of alts in this game because usually, once someone start to do alts, itâs with a idea of having several ones, rarely just one or two.
Meanwhile, there is also a very huge amount of players with only one account, because they could not be bothered to do more.
Especially in high-sec with the very casual player base. For example, my corp as approximatively 30 actives players, and on this, only about 5-7 do haves alts. But they have a ton of them. Like at least 10 each.
Thank you for your reply. I am asking you because I genuinely donât know for sure (I am a fairly new player). I am simply going by my experience. All my corp members have 2/3/4 alts. When I try to engage what I believe to be a solo ratter in a WH, 9/10, he has an alt or two cloaked up. It could just be a wormhole thing as this is the game I play. I hope it is this as I really like the game and would like to see it expand.
Last time CCP released numbers of accounts per player the number was an average of 1.7 accounts per player, with 2/3 of players only having the 1 account and only 6% of individuals having 4 or more.
Having all 3 character slots filled on an account doesnât influence this number at all, because you can only have 1 character per account online at any time.
Admittedly these numbers are 5 years old and while some players run 10âs of accounts they are almost certainly in the minority.
There was some discussion of alt numbers and distribution here:
The issue was somewhat fuzzy around the definition of what constitutes an alt and how to define who has how many.
An alt is an account that is used to help you out while concurrently running your âmainâ account at the same time. By definition, this excludes Alpha accounts as they cannot be ran at the same time as an Omega account or more than one Alpha account. For example, I personally have 17 accounts, of which I only ever run 3 concurrently. Does that mean I have 42 alts? No, because those other accounts are merely placeholders for various other things. Even though I have 17 accounts, my contribution to the total number of players logged in every day on the launcher is still only 3.
It doesnât â â â â â â â matter.
So, the other two braindonors on my main account arent alts?
Edit:
Nm
I actually read the post lol
I have 5 accounts and something like 12 toons on them.
I canât be bothered to deal with the skilling event, even though I have not one, but three PvP mains.
This means 1 month of not playing.
I mine and dont do PVP.
1 month is just too long.
And to all you pvpers, if you are not too chicken, goto low or nul sec and enjoy your pvp fight. But NO you want easy targets because you are too chicken to go for the real pvp fight.
Ok, cool. The miners who arenât irrationally terrified of PvP will benefit from your absence. In fact, theyâd really appreciate it if you quit EVE entirely.
But NO you want easy targets because you are too chicken to go for the real pvp fight.
Why donât you stop making yourself an easy target? There are plenty of ways to defend yourself, ways that are more effective than whining on the forums and trying to insult people into leaving you alone.
The SP bonus doesnât make you any easier of a target. If they would attack you now they would have attacked you before. Maybe fit a tank or mine somewhere quieter.
Calm down, miner.
Okay, thatâs your choice.
Similarly, a lot of players donât like to PVE, I was feeling quite left out in the cold with all the PVE events.
It is one actually⊠unless you have each account registered with different email address.
