Skills for kills event

Ahh I think you misunderstand, we demean him not for the inability to move items safely through space, which can be tricky until you learn how, but for coming onto the forum and whining like a child about pvp happening in a game where that is the primary focus.

I have been confused by your giving of likes to some of the utterly ridiculous posts I’ve seen on these forums lately, maybe this explains it (a simple misunderstanding)?

Regards,
Cypr3ss.

I give likes to a reply when it contains something I like or agree with. That doesn’t mean I like everything they’re saying and I’m not going to spend a bunch of time dissecting their reply.

Me too ( see above)

If there was a bigger degree of emotes than just a like,

Then we could express ourselves better without the need for mouthy cows like me to add another useless post

Which is formatted in this awful, confusing

Manner

I am one of the lucky… Few days after the event starts all my accounts need another 500 plex. I will let all of them run out and resubscribe after the event ends. That will be my silent protest against this event…
Rewarding gankers is bad. Very bad! Please come up with something else that is not discriminating to all the people that do not do PVP…

What about people who do pvp that arent gankers? Do you think should have any thing either?

  1. You get SP only if you survived.
  2. Your free SP depends on how much red you see on you hud after the fight. IIRC it was 50 000 if you are in the hull, 25 000 SP if you are in the armor, 10 000 if in the shield.
  3. If you tanked 0 DPS, you are getting 0 SP. I know it is discrimination for kiters, but…

You chose to not take part in player v. player combat the same way I chose to not take part in the past NPC hunting events (there where a lot of them). There is no discrimination here, just you (and a lot of other carebares from what I see here) thinking absolutely everything always has to revolve around their preferences. Get the over it.

One of the forums on another game I play uses “Like - Agree - LOL - Awesome - Insightful” as the list of responses to a post. Makes it a little more interesting. Still, the various types of likes/response never actually mean anything (devs ignore them all equally), so it’s not useful for much more than making forums feel a little more friendly I guess.

We haven’t seen the details on how the event works yet. I imagine it will involve or encourage some ganking, but don’t expect a whole lot of it. The math of “gank in high sec, get Concorded, lose ship” probably won’t change for the event. So it’s unlikely people will be throwing ships away just to score a few daily SP.

I feel that would be a good thing, overall

Yeah well that’s the thing, see. PvP is the word for it. People started using it because it was shorter than typing “player vs player combat” everywhere. It’s only the word-warriors here on EVE forums that try to pretend it means anything other than that.

“Mining is PvP”, “market trading is PvP”, “producing your ammo more efficiently than the other guy, whooo it’s PvP”.

The pretend-warriors on the forums can’t handle the fact that EVE consistently gets proven to be a “mostly PvE game that features non-consensual PvP as an activity”. That PvP is a minority activity in EVE. So they try to define all sorts of different things as ‘PvP’ so they can feel more edgy, I guess.

Maybe if you played the actual game more, and maybe if EVE featured enough PvP that you could get some decent conflict happening in-game, you wouldn’t feel the need to ‘play word games all day’.

You seem to think that just because you know how a word is used in some other game it is the same everywhere. In the EVE community PvP is a broad concept covering a lot of stuff because it is a sandbox with competition and conflict in the center. It is not just used for ship combat.

That is just how it is. Obsess some more about it, I really don’t care. If you chose to not understand what people talk about because you stumble over a simple word because you reject the meaning it has for those people that is your choice and your problem. Good luck with that

Utter bollocks.

Bollocks, go away.

Don’t try to convince them with facts…they aren’t interessted in facts…they only want their 2004 game forever…

They even don’t want a better game, they also don’t care about the player count and the reason for it going down…all they want is the 2004 game…

One dimensional and really really sad…

Reasons such as CCP having made it too easy to carebear in safety and too hard to do the things that this game is known for.

Comedy gold from someone that constantly tries to pass his opinion off as fact.

They even don’t want a better game

Wrong, we do want a better game, we just happen to disagree with you on what a better game looks like.

they also don’t care about the player count and the reason for it going down

Wrong again, most of us would love to see the player numbers increase, more players = more people to interact with in various ways; as for the reasons that player count is lower than it used to be there are varying opinions as to what those reasons are, all are speculation.

One dimensional and really really sad

You’re the person with monomania, which makes you the one dimensional thinker.
