Skin Bonuses

And I agree with you, for the most part. If you’ve never played before, and you have no idea what you’re doing, then buying your way into an Officer fit Faction BS or something doesn’t guarantee success.

But someone who has played for a while and knows the ropes… Who then goes out and waves their credit card in the direction of skills and gear for a small army of fresh faced Alts, is definitely going to become a force to be reckoned with. They know what they’re doing with that Officer fit Faction BS. And now they have a fleet of them at their disposal.

They didn’t have to make a bunch of new Alts, spend years to build their skills, and earn enough profits to get those ships and mods. They turned cash into an unreasonable advantage (unreasonable b/c of how quickly it was acquired).

You could Wardec a lone pilot in a Corp by himself, and within the week, he mass produces this fleet of Corpmates who are able to wreck house. That is why I said it’s a roundabout P2W.

If you have an account that you pay for why do you play Eve Online if not to win? If you never paid for a subscription that allows you access to the TII ships then how can you ever possibly have an advantage over someone else mining, PvPing or PvEing for starters?

The bonus skins like I mentioned could be purchased with PLEX or ISK. The advantage to using them would not be noticed really by high end players but would be noticeable for lower end players just starting out who could the skins to bridge the gap between a lower resistance value and the next higher value for example.

The main goal is too keep new players coming in and providing them with advantages that would be superior to veteran players because in any combat based scenario, People get bored with the same Hero and Champions constantly winning. People want to see new Hero’s and Champions emerge that would better relate to when they entered the game instead of associating with someone who has been in the game for 15 years and really could care less about the new player.

In the end its about turning the old war horses into glue for the armor of the next generation of Hero’s and Champions. Always has been…and always will be.

The Coliseum did not thrive on the same Gladiator killing slaves over and over again each weak.

The real heart of the Coliseum beat deeply when the slaves killed the Gladiators setting the crowd free and giving the entire empire hope that change was close at hand.

Sorta like CODE does.

Why not throw in a premium structure SKIN that reduces outgoing assest safety charges and expedites the process on structures?

ok, first before delving into the stupidity of your idea once again.

Let me ask,
1.) How much do you propose these skins cost?
and
2.) Are these destructible or permanent skins?

■■■■ NO!

Are people automatically winners just by being alive?

You’re proof that that’s not the case.

And yet due to how Eve economics and mechanics work, you could accomplish that same feat using nothing but isk that you farm yourself. I’ve said it in other threads… plexing one account is hard. Plexing 20 is easy as ■■■■.

Which means that “when you know what you’re doing”, you can be insanely effective at even less cost ($free) than the person who just pays for one account.

It does not impart a combat advantage. With exception to subscribing to the game to unlock the omega skillset, of course, but don’t forget that Alpha is a trial; Eve remains a subscription-based game. You pay to play, not win. An omega player can lose to an alpha player, an omega player can lose to another omega player. They can’t spend more to be all but assured they’ll beat a player who spends less.

This topic is utterly retarded. Even by Dryson standards.

I’d vote volatile SKINs (destructible). If we go that approach they are better utilized as structure SKINs rather than ships.

To be honest i dont want any of these DrysonSkins…

But if they had to happen then i have to say:
1.) it applies to every skin in game even ones already purchased.
2.) They can not cost more than5 plex per skin, ever.
3.) All skins are now volatile, no more permanents (to include ones already purchased)

wonder what happens to the skin market then…

Basically a volatile micro module at that point. It might work, but it can get tedious replenishing fits for paid items.

Dust had some experience in that department. Some folks in the planetary conquest crowd did take advantage of paying for things like grenades but folks mostly used officer gear acquired from a barely passable player market. CCP also introduced being able to earn ‘AUR’ back then for completing daily missions.

I suggest moving away from the ‘nickle & dimed’ approach player would feel with premium plus+ SKINs on ships and instead look at volatile SKINs on structures that many more players (who don’t necessarily have to pay real money) can experience the benefits of ‘whale’ players. I would certainly suggest not granting structure SKIN bonuses that effect the immediate player economy and look at features that improve the quality of life of a structure (e.g. camo skin grants ability to structure not showing up on dscan).

Note: While something like ‘paid’ structure dscan invisibility sounds incredibly OP, it’s still an asset that can be destroyed. You can’t unplug it from a structure once it’s applied. Folks may make it their passion to prioritize the hunting of these structures which can still be uncovered by combat scan probing.
