SMT : Eve Map Tool

See I knew it was a noob question, such a simple solution!

Worked 100%, thanks for the help

Hi! Whenever I use the Find Gates button, it pulls in a lot of Jumpbridges, but they don’t seem to be correct (maybe it’s old data?). Since the function doesn’t work during DT, I assume it’s pulled from ESI. Is this an error on CCP’s side?

Also, feature request: showing more than one region

The gate search is problematic because of a couple of esi bugs :

/characters/{character_id}/search/ returns 500 Unhandled Internal error on certain structure searches · Issue #1268 · esi/esi-issues · GitHub
200 OK response for non-exists / destroyed structure · Issue #1129 · esi/esi-issues · GitHub
/characters/{character_id}/search/ returns fewer structure results than you might expect · Issue #108 · esi/esi-issues · GitHub

If you pop over to the discord, there are some instructions to help find them manually

First off, a big thank you for the amazing tool! I just discovered it and so far I‘m very impressed. Great job!

I do have a feature suggestion however: when I mouse-over a system, show me when the system was last mentioned in intel channels and what the message was. Or perhaps just highlight the last message in intel channels that mentioned the mouse-over system (scroll the intel channel log to the message and highlight).

I think that may be a good addition, especially when you‘re moving around and want to check your route.

While you‘re at it you could also go so far as to implement a feature in the route finder that shows you a list of all systems in the route and when/what was last reported (and what zKB kills exist in those systems).

As I said I‘m a very new user so if any of these features already exist and I just failed to find them yet then I apologise in advance.

Cheers!

Hey there, I’ve been using your program for the better part of a few months here (back when the whole war was starting) but since my alliance has since moved out of the delve/ querious region, my SMT no longer shows the proper intel channels, do i need to manually add them in somehow, or is there a file i need to select to see intel chat from my new region? thanks so much in advance

@Calyn_Teemsma you need to ensure the intel channels in the preferences are configured to match the channels you want to monitor in game

A new release : 1.04

  • New POI system
  • Adjusted Universe layout
  • Security Info in the hover over
  • Bug fixes for Auth Flow
  • ZKB feed highlight

The main 2 changes in this release are the addition of a point of interest system which you can see with the “i” highlight :

image

And the second being a layout pass on the universe view, systems should overlap a lot less now :

I’ve also made a couple of fixes to the auth flow; and unfortunately this means that all characters will need to be re-authenticated… the previous versions will stop working in a couple of weeks.

A new release : 1.07

  • Extended Navigation to optionally route through Thera
  • Option for custom location of eve logs
  • Updated the anomaly parser to support English, German & French
  • Updated Jove systems

The big change in this is the option to find routes using thera… in the route panel you will now find an extra option :

image

When enabled this will attempt to find route short cuts by using known entrances to thera : eg, for example… if i wanted to travel from UW98-F in curse to R8S-1K in Deklein its a 59 hop route travelling via shortest…

however, if im prepared to travel via thera, i can cut this to 22 hops…

image

As you can see instead of direct, we travel to Jayneleb, enter into thera, and exit in OPQ-WI

Slazanger, I read the entire 4 year history of SMT and then installed 1.07 the next day. Just wanted to give you some love for all the hard work you’ve put into this.

When I first launched it, I was struck by how great the dark mode theme is that you finally settled on as the default – it’s so perfect that I have no interest in changing it.

Figuring out how to add my character and set up intel was super easy and intuitive. The defaults you chose for the map scale and overall layout are also excellent.

I’ve spent a 35 year career as a software dev and 15 of it in mapping / GIS development using C# and I can really appreciate everything you’ve poured into this project. Great work.

(nope, no suggestions for you, just mad respect.)

A new release : 1.08

  • Game Log Parsing
  • Warnings on Combat
  • Warnings on Mobile Observatory Decloak
  • DangerZone now limited to logged on characters
  • Extended Info Object

The main feature of this release is the Gamelog Parsing which enables a bunch of fun stuff… The first version is split into two… Decloak warnings and combat warnings… these need to be enabled per character in the character window :

image

This defaults to declock enabled, combat disabled.

The decloak is looking for pulses for from the Mobile observatory; and if you get decloaked by one it should issue a windows notification (popup):

image

The combat parsing is currently very simple and will respond to any of the combat notifications (that is any that are on-grid with you)… the plan is to extend this to support extra options (npc only, player only, only to me etc etc)

image

All of this is logged into a new “GameLog” panel which you can find alongside Intel/Fleet.

In addition to the windows notification/popup the map will display a warning :

image

And the character panel will highlight yellow

image

These warnings will clear if you change system; or can be manually reset by right clicking on the map and choosing Characters → → Clear Warning

A new small release : 1.09

  • Removed Old Trig Invasion panel
  • Fixes for the route panel and searching for systems / regions
  • Updated route panel to include pod, ship and jumps data
  • Route panel now highlights thera, edencom/trig invasions and additional highlights if you dont have the appropriate standings
  • Added the option to reset back to the default layout

The main feature of this release is an update to the route panel… it now shows additional details for the route :

The data in the colums is the Jump, Ship Kills, Pod Kills and Trig Invasion status.

The highlights are :

Green : Thera Connection
Yellow : An edencom or trig system
Red : Either an edencom/trig where you dont have the appropriate standings!

I’ve also added an additional menu item to the view menu to reset to the default layout… it might not be super obvious but you can change the layout by clicking and dragging the various components and either floating or redocking them… it allows for some cool layouts :

But… you can also get yourself in a mess and resetting used to require deleting some config files… now you can click the menu

Any chances to get this working on MacOS without a full machine emulator? Any porting project? Let me know thanks.
Aeolian

@Aeolian_Torell yes, the first part of the port is underway… the plan is to port from .net framework to .net core 6 first, then port from WPF to Avalonia… its why ive been a little quiet (that and RL!)
