So you just bought CCP

I have their financial report from previous year and I have seen they have profit. Few millions of $.

My bad, I had no idea they were developing 3 games at once last year

Eve online 2 but I would just call it Eden

The thing with simple people is that all they know is money. So for them a company needs to have money and make money, because for simple people does money equal safety. When one has money can nobody take it away easily and one doesn’t need banks or the help of others to make money.

It’s a little bit different In business. When you’ve shown you can make money and have something to show for it, then it’s no longer about making money, but about making business. Any shareholder and any bank will gladly throw their money at one when one can create more business. The meta, if you so will, changes from making money to making business.

I wish CCP the best of luck for their business expansion plans. I sure would like to see more games from CCP. And if they have to try a few times and it’s going to cost them some money then it only shows that it’s no easy task. As long as they make enough to pay their bills could they come out with 0$ for all I care.

It’s also pretty silly wanting to criticize CCP for how they manage their profit when others, who are in the same business, can create hundred of millions only with making promises to one day release a space game (aka Star Citizen).

I would fire the guy responsible for the micro transactions and then I would let them continue making an awesome game. Because I’m not a game designer, I don’t know how to make a good game I just play them…

Maybe from time to time I would flog someone who shows sympathy with adding another batch of micro transactions to make sure those bad ideas don’t get out of hand.

I’m going to be entirely honest here , if I ever won the Powerball lottery not much would change on the game at all there just would be 1 less player .

Within 2 days of my win I would probably be found dead surrounded by empty JD bottles , naked women of loose virtue and drugs on board a huge yacht with the biggest smile on my face

Wow, if it takes all that to put a smile on your face, then what does it take to make you laugh?

I would remove NPC stations altogether and install a nice pergola and some led lighting.

I wouldn’t have the time in them 2 days to invent a machine that makes corpses laugh :stuck_out_tongue:

Interesting question.

  • First, I would fire Hilmar. Bye bye, you lost.

  • Hire community managers.

  • First (about the game), I would focus on the user experience (UI, etc.) so that the game become more playable. Not limited at :

    • Give a better tutorial if possible
    • Restore the customization of the interface like the good old times
    • Why not, give a way to customize very partially the UI and sounds by yourself, if people want colorful icons or create specific sounds set.
    • Reduce the clickfest for PI even more, for trading too (when removing multiple orders)
    • Delete the First-POV section of each jump of gates, no need to lose customers by making them feeling unwell.
    • Few new functions (hide your name in your lossmails in the cost of killmails too, offer to keep a “list” of personal prices for items to set them when creating orders, etc.).
  • Once it is done, partial rebalancing. Nerf moons as they give too much stuff. Raise up the cost of capital ships so that they lose the statut of “consumable” ships… Raise up citadel costs. Boost T1 battleships. Nerf alpha strike. Etc. To be fair, I don’t know what is really needed here… Communication with the players will be required.

  • Make AFK ghost camping an ACTIVE gameplay style, maybe by adding a module for Astrahuses who is able to decloack every ships in a system after a random charging time of 30/70 minutes (and with a serious cost of fuel). If it was active, the cloack module in the ship will die, or can’t be reenabled for a decent amount of time even after delog/jump out. This should avoid bots.

  • Get rid of the skill injectors/extractors…

  • …and nerf Alpha accounts too, no more than a BC with meta 1-4 weapons. It should be enough to discover the game.

  • Find a way to avoid a total bunkerization and so partially reenable territories disputes. Maybe by restricting the number of citadels allowed in a null-sec system (excepted refineries), for both the owner and outsiders, maybe even the number of keepstars an alliance can have. I don’t know for the moment.

  • In secret, change a part of the skill tree and requirements for ships.

  • Lastly, once everything is done, RESET. A brand new galaxy. The same alliances will certainly remain after the change, but most of the damage done by some bad decisions (especially skill injectors and fozziesov) will be erased. Players won’t be able to blindly use pre-defined skill plans, they will have to recreate them. Actual moon maps and others will go to trash, everything must be remade.
