I started posting on forums with this alt for security reasons. I didn’t want anyone from forum to spectate me, see what I am doing (at that time I was bashing mostly abandoned structures in highsec + ganking miners) and abuse that.
Maybe it is paranoid, it seems that most active posters can’t even check killboard even if you give them name of your alt, which is Honzas Krutas, well whole corp is just me myself and all my chars are alpha right now. And neither are gankers harassing carebears who are demanding ganking to be removed from game, so probably needless.
Nevertheless, when I get back this year after almost 3 year break and I did no longer worried about any of this I still decided to use this alt because he is or was known and has a history here on forum (that nobody checks anyway but w/e). So thats it.
Pretty much. It was a sacred rule to post with your main on C&P once upon a time. Because if you’re gonna talk mess, you shouldn’t be afraid of the antimatter coming your way
Gotcha. It seems to be the common reason everyone gives.
Ha! When I push people to stop posting on their alts and on their mains instead, I get called paranoid for thinking of “Psy ops” instead of “opsec”. I’m a firm believer that “security via obscurity is not security at all”.
Anyway, here’s my obligatory push to “post on your Novus Ordo main” because anyone can claim to be an alt of someone else. But I get the forum history bit: so even if it’s just 1 post to confirm the relationship, that in my mind sheds light to the “transparency/honesty in the community” bit, even if long term you keep posting on Vokan.
I in turn would like to confirm that I have zero affiliation with Gix.
Aside from the usual commenting on his posts and discussing things at cross purposes that everyone does with Gix.

Now we are getting into problematic territory because we’ve been informed that AG is pointless and has no recourse but to whore on kill mails. Whereas if ganking is a tool in the AG toolbox then either ganking has less impact than claimed or AG is more of a valid counter play to ganking than previously stated.
Seems like we should throw out the AG and ganking labels and just start calling it high sec pvp as if the anti gankers are ganking, then, even more so than before, you can’t just paint all gankers with the same brush anymore.
At the risk of agreeing with Gix, you are talking at cross purposes. Stopping gankers is not the same as avoiding ganking. One is an activity done by potential prey to limit their risk, the other is an activity done for content by high sec pvp players.
Then you are talking on different scales. If I blow up your ship, then I’ve stopped you using that ship for ganking. Not being a mind reader I don’t know if I’ve sent you back to low sec to get another from stock or if it was your last destroyer and you need to go through the rigmarole of restocking.
I have stopped a ganking ship and I have got some content.
Why would my goal be to stop ganking altogether it would be harming my content?
No I’ve blown up the ship, I’ve stopped a potential gank and I’ve filled my RP purpose.
Edit: not actually an AG btw. Just discussing the topic as I’m in a dull meeting.
