Considering also that EM was busy with wars in Republic space when the Trebeka revolt started. But presumably we still started it. And provided equipment and troops before we had even heard of the revolt.
And that time Gaven stubbed his toe on a chair, presumably that chair had been moved to his path by EM operatives.
Ooh, and don’t even get me started with the Doriam II assassination! It MUST have been EM! I mean, EM was founded only after the assassination, but it must have been them!
Ok, everybody, I appreciate the defense and the character witnessing, but trust me, I got this, there’s no need to get indignant on behalf of myself or my alliance.
I pretty much already said that the Admiral is not off the mark, and I said in my announcement two days ago that what ground support capacity we have has been directed against operations of PIE.
Take it as a compliment that they have noticed.
Else
Lord Admiral, I must correct you here. The Ghosts of Kahah have not deployed any ground forces to Thebeka III. We came to observe the situation as it evolved. You then forced our hand with a declaration of war. Thebeka III is Samira Kernher’s home and I wished to consult with her before intervening on the ground, but I have obviously been preoccupied.
I will add: one day she will be declared a saint and your organization will fade into obscurity.
I wonder how many dead corps have told PIE this over the years…
To be fair, he wasn’t really raising himself up there. More remarking on an individual.
Armast: Good to know that our in space efforts haven’t been wasted. Assuming any of that is true.
Deitra: Seriously, I list five separate prime suspects aside from Else, and even add an “among others,” and you go right back to hitting me for pinning everything on Elsebeth?
Elsebeth: You are welcome. Also, thank you. The shell game was getting very old.
Kalaratiri: I think I lost count a decade ago.
Nothing like a job well done.
My pleasure.
See you in space.
Elsebeth
I’m’a have to go buy more popcorn.
Forensic analysis of the guns captured yesterday from Elsebeth’s Hecate and similar weapons captured in the first days of fighting has indicated with 80% certainty that the weapons came from the same source.
In other words we are now almost certain that Elsebeth’s definition of “Purely Humanitarian” included gun running before the shift to a military footing.
Gasp.
Well, that’s the least surprising thing I’ve ever heard.
Excellent work, Lord Admiral. You’re an inspiration.
Sue me for having the same source for gear for my own security as people supplying rebels?
Too bad I can’t get Rhiannon Legal to have that fight in a Imperial court of law. It’d be a good show.
Else
It’s such a good thing we can just shoot you, instead.
I’m still stuck on how it’s not Humanitarian to help people avoid getting horribly ■■■■■■■ murdered by their slavers?
Because forces on the ground aren’t “horribly murdering” unarmed enemies. Ardishapur is not Khanid.
Adding those guns to the equation is tempting slaves who would have lived through this mess to effectively commit suicide.
To effectively choose their path in life, even if it leads to death.
As for forces not murdering unarmed slaves, even if that was true (which we both know is nonsense, even accounting for collateral casualties) they’re still horribly murdering people who are only trying to be free. Adding more guns to that mix is decidedly humanitarian. Buys time, adds pressure both politically and in terms of public opinion, means we get more of them off-world and so on.
Humanitarian? Most definitely.
For the record, what Mizhara refers to is not the definition of “humanitarian” in any of my dispatches. I follow the standard dictionary / SoE usage.
Well no, I’m not speaking for you. I’m just trying to figure out how we started excluding “keep zealot barbarians from slaughtering civilians” from Humanitarian when it should be very much the definition.
