one of the problems we run into from time to time is newer players wanting to be the dps in fleets and very few wanting to be the logi. older players will migrate that way with coaxing, but the dps suffers without their skill points.
the way logi is mostly setup in sub cap fleets is by pairing cruisers for rr for survival. seeing the effectiveness of the triage carrier and the marauders, if we could combine those into a ship that could roam with fleets, yet still have enough ass to hang in a fight, it would be formidable yet strictly defensive.
what i am thinking is taking a platform that can survive a descent amount of damage, making it a logi and give it marauder like bastion/triage bonuses.
command logistics-
take the command ship, remove weapons, give it bonuses that mimic the logi cruiser abilities with rr and remote cap and throw on a triage/bastion module. the bastion module would only last a minute like the marauder, the command logi could not be repped while in siege, just like the marauder and capitals, but would get the bonuses from the bastion type siege unit. this would allow it to rep itself and stay in the fight, it would give triage lock time and range enhancements and cap generation. might even get an extended range bonus while in triage.
being a command ship, it would also still fit command burst modules. however, i am thinking since it would be limited to armor or shield burst only, it would have 3. increase high slots to 8 (utility, no weapons), 3 burst modules and then a combo of rr and remote cap.
one thing about it, it would most definitely have to use a large local rep to hang because it would be primaried instantly. so pg and cpu bonuses for fitting large local reps along with large rr/cap reps like logi cruisers.
it would also have to have a boosted cap regen normally without being forced to cap chain or run all cap rechargers/boosters. being a specialized ship, cap recharge bonuses from things like the maller or the apoc could easily apply (5%-7.5% per lev of command logi or something).
pilots would now be forced to choose between sieging and possibly having the fleet warp off or not sieging and the fight taking longer than expected. while not in siege, they can be remote reps/cap chained as normal.
i dont think it would be op. the guardian can run 6 reppers if it has someone feeding it cap. this would have 8 or 5 with 3 command burst.
other than that, its just a command ship logi with enhanced cap charging abilities.
oh, one side note: when in siege, it gains immunity to jamming like other siege modules.
