That is indeed very typical and unique to EVE players. In no other games would players tolerate gamebreaking bugs, shitty UI and stupid anti-QoL features announced as QoL features.
In EVE CCP shits on a players head and they say âthank youâ.
Space isnât waaaay too bright for me
And my shipâs SKIN reflects the skybox beautifully.
I did turn down a few setting on my tv like Gamma and Brihhtness, but very slightly, ever so gently.
Due to that the station interiors are a bit dark but nothing I canât handle, especially that I donât do much while docked and I love to be undocked in space.
Iâm not sure if CCP can tone down the brightness without messing something else so I will not bother our nice devs and make do with what I have. ![]()
I think I should move to space and work on my tan.
This has been said a lot recently, an ongoing discussion in many different threads. I express my opinion, that I would settle for less backgrounds that appear to be inspired by the Hubble Telescope photos of nebulas. However letâs face some facts. If they change the backgrounds presently or in the upcoming year, there will be a flood of users wanting the old ones back.
What is done, is done. Not much we can do about it, unless CCP plans to allow us to choose. Freedom of choice, lord no, they will never allow it to happen.

I see you still run with transparent menus, I swapped all mine to 100% opaque a long time ago. I canât make out the white fonts on a white background, you must have better vision than I do.
Next the sky and 3D window is eye candy, fireworks, and irrelevant. Toggle it off using CTRL+Shift+F9 this will be much more realistic for someone inside a sealed pod looking at monitors. I only turn on the 3D to take a screenshot of something external. Also killing the 3D will give your frame rate a boost beyond expectations.
The rest is now up to you and your imagination. If you need to see any stars, just ask a friend or family member to punch you in the head 4 or 5 times. ![]()

Leaving HS space does wonders for the brightness of your game.
Jokes aside, brightness sliders of the game and/or your monitor is how you solve these issues in games.
I disagree. This is simply not a problem in other games. First of all I donât recall playing any game so bring so would ever consider changing the default settings or even monitor settings (on the other hand, games tend to be too dark). And second, even if they are bright, they don!t have dozen of black (which causes contrast) or transparent (which is even worse in bright nebu la areas) UIs with white text.
AND even if there would be any other such game, then I bet it would offer you to change the brightness setting more than 10% we get in EVE.
I am personally at the minimum that EVE allows, my brightness on monitor is 30 and I still have to turn off graphic completely in many areas via CTRL+SHIFT+F9 to be able to read stuff on overview or just not to lose my eyes in night.
EDIT: And I donât have this stupid Windows HDR mode enabled either.
That heavily sounds like an issue with vision/perception on your side.
Seriously, having my monitor brightness on 30 with EVE brightness also set to the lowest value would leave me with a black screen.
Not everyone notices the brightness of the ops screenshot background, but it can be distracting in certain contexts.
They could make a series of wallpapers ( sky spheres ) that range from âscarceâ to âclusteredâ on a slider. This would give the players a choice and keep both sides content. It might add some more to download to the game, but I canât imagine images being more than what I already keep in my photos and wallpapers.

Mission: Cleansed by Fire - Destroy the demonic fleet.
DESTROY THE DEMONIC FLEET!
THE
DEMONIC
FLEET!
We need DEMONIC FLEETS in EVE! The Amarr Empire URGES to cleanse them by fire! I swear to God!
This is with ingame brigthness on minimum and monitor brightness at 30. And this is not the brightest system I found, just the brightest I am currently in. This actually donât make my eyes hurt as other systems, just make it difficult to read ships on overview because the text in overview is white and we cannot change it. Usually I rotate a camera to opposite side, mostly it works and I can get at least grey color behind the overview. In Sobaseki specifically I resort to CTRL+SHIFT+F9 since rotating camera doesnât help.
New Caldari is special. I got blindsighted once when I jumped to this system from Jita with space map (in fullscreen mode) opened. There is some bug or something because if you do this, you get completely bright white screen.
Does a group of people that like to literally bathe in the blood of capsuleers count as demonic? If so, we already have the Blood Raiders.

Your monitor settings donât matter to a screenshot.
Turn off the blur of you canât read the text, or turn down the transparency so you have an actual background to the window.
Could we have an option to apply a filter for the first person camera (alt-3) view to have a sliding bar where we may select how dark we want for the background?
/
We already have a full brightness control, though it would be nice with two different settings as first camera view is the you are looking outside the window of your capsule and the full view can be adjusted differently.
True as sometimes itâs good to have it nice and bright.
Jeez you guys are sensitive! Space looks fine. Get your eyes checked maybe.
Most of the Trigs I met are somewhat demonic and there are the space cults like the Blood Raiders. I think demonic portals to Hell may offend the atheists in the crowd? I say go ahead and offend.
