[Split Topic] - Ganking

Meanwhile regional market gankers continue to slip through going unnoticed.

They will lose their scanning ships that were once safe in Highsec
They look for easy kills in lowsec using their once safe scanning ships from highsec
This is what will continue to happen to their lot.

For somebody who is NOT AN ALT, does not exist on zkillboard and is 69 days old , I find that hard to believe

They are your family

Why? The evidence is in the game bruv

I don’t get why people go thru such crazy lengths for a vidya game.

EVE is more than a game, people spend real life money on it, a ship going BOOM having real life consequences. Imagine how much real life money is spent on wars.

Suppose, for the moment, that you were provided with incontrovertible proof of AFK ganked players of a sizable number complaining on the forums. My guess is that it would not alter any of your views and so, other than perhaps the satisfaction of wasting the time of someone with an opposing point of view were an interlocutor vindictive, there is no value in providing it. Would my guess be correct?

Nice.

I have a potential solution to the ganking issue that I feel works for both the gankers and the gankees. So IMHO the issue with a newbro getting ganked is not so much that he got ganked but rather how hard it can be for them to replace a ship when starting out. So my solution has 2 parts. 1 reverse the anti changes as this game needs gankers in high sec. 2 increase the payouts of all missions. The idea is that if a newbro loses say a destroyer, he can run a couple lvl 2 missions and earn enough money to replace that ship and possibly get one or 2 more. The ideal would be that a new player can say hey I lost my ship but it will only take me x time to replace it. I would say by the time they get to being able to fly a battleship, when they lose it they can go ok I need to run missions for say an hour or so and I can buy a new one and fit it ( with meta/tech 2 ). If new players understand that replacing a tech 1 ship isnt too bad they will be less upset when they lose one. More likely to try pvp knowing they can replace their ship fairly easily. Now to balance that so the afk runners dont go wild we need to let the gankers go back to normal operations otherwise we would have a bunch of 1 bil mauraders running around.

Someone comes on to protest about gankees being portrayed as AFK…who then proceeds to tell us that they spend most of their time AFK because ( they say ) the game is ‘designed that way’. You couldn’t make up this hilarious road crash of illogic if you tried.

You know who else believes that too

Skewed statistics resulting from free 7-day omega that went on for some weeks.

Will take a wild guess. Lucas ?

yea because mining in hisec needs omega.

And more people mining pushes up prices.

Gimme a sec to check those statements for logical errors.

Lots of people were indeed multiboxing stuff like barges with the free 7-day omega. Just as gankers were utilizing it as well. All kinds of statistics went up in November, e.g. PCU.

A rise in any statistic in November isn’t to be trusted as anything but an anomaly.

It is a problem, if you get a free ride, its a problem. There has to be risk and you people have reduced the risk to zero. All your losing is corvettes in this process.

You know miners can do that too right? Pull Concord right to their belt. Why do so many of you just whine about what poor helpless victims you are instead of actively engaging the game?
