Stop bugging me with bull****

Is there an idea in there somewhere? or are you just ranting?

Also, some modules cycle time is upto, or more than, 10 minutes. So, no they cant just turn off. You should have learned that nothing in EVE happens automatically. If you have any form of timer your ship will remain in space until that timer runs out, with very few exceptions, if any.

nah, he has a point.

If someone wants to inititate Safe-Log, you can’t just click on that “accidentally”. He really wants to safe log. NOW!

So, I think it’s a legit request that the safe-log command should override whatever currently blocks it. Modules, Fleets, Cloaking or whatever…
Or at least create an option in the settings “ safe logging override”

losers who use fake mechanics to avoid fighting are pathetic losers, just like the character farmers and the market sellers who undermine the whole of the game by selling ships and equipment below manufacturing cost.

this game is toxic with scum who ruin it

That would be reasonable but CCP cannot code. The same should apply to logging off or death cloning in station/structures. Cool, I just left my ship or just docked, so I have session change timer which prevents me from doing just that. Then start the god damn timer like you do for Jump Cloning and show the timer in a window like you do for Safe Log in Space.

what do you mean fake mechanics??? Logging in space is a real mechanic CCP gave us. Not to avoid fighting but to stop playing whereever you are and go away from your computer.

You’re meant to be in a safe spot, theres a reason it doesnt override other timers or is canceled out
Combat persistence wins over logout convenience

Go back to line 1 and read again. Ths is not about overriding combat timers.

Isn’t that why combat timers exist (PvE and PvP separately) to prevent log off if someone is engaged in a chase?

Because even a hostile module activation by an NPC or capsuleer will prolong that timer and if the pilot escaped long enough to safelog that means they could just constantly warp back and forth between safes or dock up or whatever and avoid you indefinitely.

You have your time window to catch your target and if you fail then that’s on you, stop demanding FC spoonfeed you your killmails.

 :psyccp:

It isn’t about combat timers.

It is about “you cannot safe log because you are…”

  • in a fleet
  • have an active module running
  • are aligned to xyz
  • are cloaked

If you are going to safe log, the game can just end whatever prevents the safe logging and then begin the safelog timer. You would do it anyway, it’s just additional clicks.

The post I was replying to is specifically about combat timers. See the indicator in the top right corner of my post who and which post I’ve replied to.

Edit: to be precise it was about safe log being complained about as a form of evading PvP and as a response I’ve explained how combat timers exist exactly to address that.

sry I wanted to reply to the topic in general before more people show up and not understanding what the idea is about. Not to you specifically. Sry for the confusion.

Those timers are not meant to be over ridden by safe log off

The ship is cloaked in any capacity, including gate cloaks. That will abort the 30 second safe log out. And instead if you turn the game off, then after the timer, youll get your 60 sec log off timer

this forum is for things that are "not meant to be.. " until they are.

read the eve support page.. there is a reason why the safe log off timer does not do what you want.. its not a “■■■■ it im out” button… get to a safe spot then log out… otherwise wait another half minute or so then log off.

and we have all reason to change that.

yes thats exactly what the button is for. But we have to do annoying clicks before that, which can be done by the game itself.

The suggestion is NOT about getting out of dangerous situations, ignoring timers that would prevent a safe logoff or to speed up the process somehow.

Does alt-F4 not achieve what the OP requires?

No, that’s not safe logging. It leaves your ship sitting in space twice as long, and that timer only starts after you quit. Safe logging makes you watch during the 30 seconds before it kicks you, but then you’re actually guaranteed safe.

But the penalty for safe logging is that you have to wait until it is safe to log.

If you don’t want to ‘be bugged’ then closing the client is the way forward.
