Strategic Bombers ship line idea

Since my first days in EVE I was shocked there are no large scale bombers in the game. Stealth bombers have been in this game for almost entirety of its lifetime and yet we never got a next step from them. Frigate sized Stealth Bombers are more described as submarines in RL terminology, while an array of actual strategic bombers exist and have their very own niche in warfare. Those are larger, less maneuverable vessels that drop tons of explosives over large areas.

In short, I’d like to see Cruiser, Battlecruiser or Battleship sized Strategic Bombers that can utilize more than one Bomb Launchers without CovOp stealth capabilities. These can be used in variety of situations and strategies, mostly for carpet-bombing and neutralizing clumped frigates/destroyers at some reasonable ranges.

I imagine them not having turret hardpoints of any kind, only Bomb Launchers. Specialize in tank, and are slower than average. So strategically moving them into favorable position is crucial. They can even obstruct flanks for enemy advances, gatecamp, station bashing etc. Hit and run tactics also work just as regular bombers, but are more vulnerable to be tackled and can’t be as subtle as there is no CovOp Cloaking.

So what do you think? Battlecruiser and Battleship lines could use some refreshment.

I like the ides of a battlecruiser class bomber to counter the deathless ships (but I think it should have covert ops cloaking).

I don’t see how you idea bombs any better than a bomber from what you described. Explain to me what situation a group of these would out perform a group of bombers.

I want a great lumbering beast of a bomber so enormous and slow that I can loose and then sit and absorb my own dps please

Iv been playing long enough to know this idea doesn’t do anything better than a regular bomber but am open to be shown what I’m missing.
