Stupid ad, who made this?

You do realize that I can be on my phone and do this while sitting outside eating lunch, right?

I mean, i guess if you dont care about truth in advertising, thats fine. You dont have to care about Starving Children, or car thefts and vandalisms in your neighborhood either.

Doesnt mean other people cant care, though.

Ad hominem. Thanks for that.

This happened in big fleets too. We would have a small number of people try and shoot at other targets just so we could bait the Logi into repping them, then concentrate fire on the primary again, etc.

But ive never been in a fleet of more than like 30 people where 2-3 people were getting the same amount of damage evenly across the board. Its usually pretty easy to rep because fleets dont like splitting DPS amongst multiple targets at similar scales, i.e. 33% DPS on each of three targets, etc.

Let me get this straight.

People can get in trouble for false advertising and innacurately representing a product and/or service.

What is this, Rules of Law even within Captialist countries?

This isnt the first advertisement ive had a problem with

Are you guys really arguing how longi functions in a fleet? This is incredible. How many of you actually having experiencing flying logi in real fleets or being the logi FC in a real fleet?

Nah it’s mainly OP. Who has created so many posts about something noone cared about and still don’t really care about because he has nothing better to do. Criticizing some ad made on Nov 16, 2021

Go play the game please… This is not school or some instinctual forum. :joy: Many of us unwind from a long work day and just want to make ISK. Not complain about some ad.

Oh sweet summer child, “Rules for thee and not for me”.

You’re hilarious. You didn’t even follow what you read.

Flew logi on fleets for years in battles with hundreds. Have also led logi in big fleets. Establishing cap chain and keeping it going is most of the work. It’s easy to apply reps.

Is that a bad thing though?

I’ve played the role of healer in many games. If a game advertisement includes general healer gameplay that’s a plus for me.

Unattractive looking character

Why put it in the video still?<

The narrator in the video also sounds like someone who narrated mojo top 10’s

Also its a 2 year old ad

Where do you think EVE’s new players are coming from?

They’re coming from the pool of people who click through on the EVE ad while watching one of those videos.

If the amount of players on the server was near all time highs you may have had a point

Well I’m not attesting to their ad campaign’s success, just their target audience.

The ad itself is like 97% fraudulent advertising. But CCP is lucky that so few people in the world care about EVE that no one’s taking them to court over it. This is what you get when you spend so many years chasing short-term revenue to appease the board.

“The main reason that we hunt…we’re looking for the good fight.”

LOL

That’s not why players “hunt.”

Are you saying the chosen target audience has no impact on an ad campaigns success?

It shouldn’t, because you’re supposed to tailor the ad campaign to its audience, and not the audience to the ad campaign.

It seems like the audience you chose to target is the most important factor when determining whether your advertisement will be a success or not

It very well might have been a success, it’s just that “success” in terms of selling EVE would mean shutting down operations in terms of other companies/products.

This might be the best they can do at this point, just skimming some bored YouTube watchers, because they’ve already alienated everyone else. I can say that pretty much all of my old EVE-playing friends except 1-2 people have permanently washed their hands of the game years ago, and that’s multiple dozens of PvP-oriented players from null, low-sec pirates, HS mercs, etc.

Dedicated gamers are done with EVE. CCP’s only able to dip their hands into the shallow end of the mobile/casual demographic now. Why do you think they changed the UI to what it is now, and didn’t even keep an option for the classic style?

Maybe dedicated gamers are done with EVE because CCP’s keeps dipping their hands into the shallow end of the mobile/casual demographic according to you?

Why are they even doing this? If the number of players on the server was higher there may have been a point to it

CCP probbaly thinks the Havok content is an attempt to make EVE less casual. But its a terrible attempt at that. So they dont get to say they tried?
