Suggestion (Option to Free Slaves when found in-game)

I’d like an option to free NPC slaves when found in-game. In doing so would give small boost to faction standing (I guess for those factions that would normally punish you for having slave NPCs in your cargohold - even if by accident).

What do you guys think?

So how do you free them? Jet can them? Sell them on the market?

I think that some NPCs should have slaves in their cargo hold. They would drop from destroyed ship and the capsuleers would have the choice to either sell them in Amarr space or release them at the nearest Slave Processing Center but each slave released would cost the capsuleer Isk. No good deed goes unpunished.

…really?

Right-click > Trash.

Okay, I was thinking of this idea. Slaves could be turned into Amarr or Minmatar agents/locations for standings gains and hits to the other. Could be turned into Blood raider agents/locations as well as Sansha for use in their blood collecting or sansha slave camp ideology with respective standings hits/gains.
But Im wondering about caldari/gallente lines? Where would they fit into their ideologies and lore positions?

This could also be used as a minmatar/amarr or Blood raiders/sansha lore event as well as just a continuing and ongoing collection.

Its funny how the same ideas appear here every year over and over.

And you still think that CCP listens to players

Free Slaves in EVE?! I General-Lee don’t think it’s a good idea.

Good Lord it’s a play on the word ->generally<- with a pic of a Confederate General named Lee. I thought the topic of freeing slaves would line the joke pretty easy… guess not.

Easy faction standing?

I think that a cheap way to obtain faction standing like that would stimulate the slave trade in new eden.

After all, who wouldn’t buy a couple of slaves for cheap faction standing standing? High demand for slaves causes supply to grow too. And it’s not hard to create new slaves: see the Amarrian breeding facility.

This breeding facility produces Minmatar children ready to assume their place as servants to the Amarr. Once they reach puberty, the boys are sent away to take their place amongst the lower classes in Amarr society.

The girls, on the other hand, are left behind. Their place is here, stretched out on cold metal tables, silent and tense. The facility wears out its brood, but that’s all right; more are created all the time.

And every now and then, a caravan will arrive, carrying men with cold eyes and clammy hands, ready and willing to help with the production.

I fear your well-intended suggestion to allow players to earn easy reputation by freeing slaves will sustain or even encourage this production chain.

Since Caldari is allied with Amarr and Gallente is allied with Minmatar, they would just follow the standing increase game mechanic, meaning the gain would be at a lower rate compared to turning them in to the main Faction…

Anyway, there’s a lot of other in-game Trade items that could be turned in for small standing increase… This is just a small example…

Amarr
Slaver
Slaver Hound
Slaves
Elite Slaves
Kameiras

Caldari
Animal Medical Expert
Homeless
Science Graduates
Tourists

Concord
Activists
Janitor
Kidnapped ORE Researcher
Marines
The Damsel’s Drunk Bodyguard

Gallente
Exotic Dancers (Female)
Exotic Dancers (Male)
Little Helper (Female)
Little Helper (Male)

Minmatar
Fedo
Freed Slaves
Freedom Fighters
Refugees

Note:
And yes, I included Concord since there should be some way to build up standing with them, even if it’s just a little increase.

I’d support this, both as a RP solution to the “slaves found in space” matter, and also, selfishly, as a way to Get Rid of the slaves who clutter up my (various) hangars — and, no, that is not an initiation to griefers to come blow my hangars, to save me the problem

you should have said: ‘oh my gosh’ to be credible

But, without these Conditioned House Slaves, who will keep my Prostitute entertained?
