You cannot force your anxiety of cloakly campers onto me, please stop trying. I will never acknowledge that cloaky campers are a problem, because the counters to them are so basic. They are a very effective form of psychological warfare, and once you figure that out they’re easily dismissed as irrelevant.

I am not trying. You are free to believe whatever you want. I couldn’t care less for armchair psychology. I care for viable tactics, their success chances and the effort and risk attached. My opinion is based of more than a decade utilizing and fighting against cloaky ships and I believe it’s rock-solid argument based. Cloaking is currently overpowered compared to the countermeasures someone has available to equal out the chances to harm each other. You won’t convince me otherwise.

There cannot be a logical and constructive post about cloaky camping, they are never anything more than an emotional response to getting ganked in game.

All said is just - arbitrary guessing, of probably, a person who can not handle and devise, emotional and rational response. Obvious in your case, so you are projecting something as a truth, rather a subjective psychological-mirror-reflection admission.

This topic has been beaten so much, the paste of the dead horse has dessicated into dust, blown away on the wind, and you’re just pounding sand at this point. Search “cloaky camping” on this forum and read all the rebuttals to every single argument you could ever possibly conceive, because the sheep have been bleating about this for over two decades.

So, you just suggest to give up, and stay silent.

In your original post, you specifically mentioned cloaking 14 times, 15 if you include the title. So, if this isn’t about cloaking, why did you not raise any single point in your entire post that didn’t revolve around it? Can you restate your idea without focusing on cloaking mechanics?

Cloaking was the first effin word you used.

D-scan isn’t an exhaustive tool meant to show decloaked ships.. its a BASIC scanner to show nearby ships or other objects

You didn’t provide a single contra-argument, just personal opinions based on what you like and are used to… that tells me a lot about the community…

There is no counter play to blops for PVE players, aside from checking third party tools and running. Just play in hisec where they will lose their ship if they shoot you. Gankers love that because it saves them money on expensive ships.

Directional scanners cannot scan all ships. Combat recons are invisible to directional scanners and so are cloaked ships.

There is nothing inconsistent about ‘cloaked invisible ships’ being invisible to directional scanners too.

Cloaked hunters are equally effective against older players as against newer players, as long as the newer players are past the point that they know what threat a cloaked ship poses.

Your reasonable solution kills cloaks as defense mechanism.

It destroys the gameplay of launching bombs at an enemy fleet.
It destroys the defense of a cloak to slip through a gate camp.
It destroys the capability of an explorer to stay alive without other defences, because anyone who wants to kill an explorer only has to place a ‘detection device’ wherever explorers are passing by to get free kills.

Please play a bit more and learn how to play before you make such game-changing suggestions that destroy game mechanics that have existed for decades.

No, just an added mechanics for SPECIFIC activity in Exploration.

According to Grok, your thread is entirely and exclusively about campy cloaking. Your elements of fairness and protecting new player is nothing more than a sham to cover the fact that you complain about cloaky camping more than 20 times in your OP.

As explorer I never am bothered by cloaky campers.

If I’m doing sites and spot a cloaky camper I can just move on to the next system and continue doing sites there.

Complaints against cloaky campers are in no way related to complaints against site-campers. Cloaky campers are not interested in roaming explorers.
Site-campers aren’t there to camp the system all day long, but are looking for explorers.

Two different styles of cloaky hunting with two entirely different targets.

Which one of the two is this thread complaining about?
