Suicide ganking is way too low risk, change my mind

Why are you asking a nobody? Ask the Dev’s this

Everything…you will kneel before my imperial majesty…

How about no ?

I’m asking you, because it’s not the devs I wish to speak, I want to know how you interpret the actions of the devs that I mentioned.

After all, I already have my own idea of what the devs intended with the game. My only unknown currently in our discussion is how you interpret the same thing.

Maybe you can convince me, try me!

As I’ve said I know as much as you , nothing .

Only the Devs can give us a definitive answer, our interpretations are nothing but speculation.

They have! See the picture!

Game mechanics pictures are not definitive definitions. I lack the crayons and patience to explain it any simpler for you.

Not only crayons and patience, but also the necessary eyes and rational thought!

Which raises the question, how are you typing this? Clearly you are capable of reading what we wrote, how is the in-game explanation of high security space any different?

Or are you also responding to that explanation with “who are you?” with nobody to listen to it?

You seem to claim you know what the Devs are thinking yet you have nothing but game mechanic pictures to back up your argument.

Waving an instruction manual around does nothing to prove the intent of the instructions within, nor does it cover the workarounds , loopholes and exploits that players may have found to implement said instructions beyond their intended function.

Why have they not fixed it we don’t know , can they fix it ? We don’t know. Should they fix it ? A topic of fierce debate.

Until a Dev comes on here and states definitely the intent it’s is all pure speculation and opinions but not ratified fact.

Let’s define “it” first.

We are talking about high sec suicide ganking right? Criminal attacks against illegal targets where CONCORD blows up the attacker, correct?

Let’s define ‘fixing’ it next.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think you mean “remove” by “fix”, right?

So the question “can they fix it” is then in clearer words:

Are the devs capable of removing criminal attacks from high sec space?

A fair question. We have seen that FC is capable of shutting off red safeties from Alpha players and more recently also have shown to be capable of shutting off all PvP combat from space in the region of Exordium, so we know FC is definitely capable of removing criminal attacks in specific from targeted groups of players as well as all pvp in general from a part of space just like they did in Exordium.

The follow-up questions then could be:

Why are there still criminal attacks in HS space?
Is FC not aware that criminal attacks still happen outside Exordium too?

These questions however are quickly answered by their recently added explanation of HS space, which shows that FC is aware that criminal attacks happen in high security space.

And besides an explanation, they did nothing to stop it. Even though they could!

I hope anyone else too would conclude that this means FC is both capable of shutting down criminal attacks in HS space, and intentionally did not shut down criminal attacks in HS space.

In fix I Do mean remove or stop.

It’s much better when you don’t resort to insults btw.

As to the debate on if it should happen or if intended to be part of the game etc there is no point discussing that between ourselves as it’s going to be nothing but speculation.

The biggest question I should ask is “Why has nobody contacted the Devs and asked for a definitive answer on the subject ?”

Honestly I think that would be the best course of action to take in order to get a definitive answer on the topic .

We already got a definitive answer on the subject, for as far as FC can be definitive on topics like these.

We got a new region where criminal attacks are not allowed in 1.0 space.
We got a clarification that criminal attacks are allowed in 0.5-0.9 space.

This seems to be very clear to me.

Until we have a post here or in email newsletter from the Devs saying “this is intended” or even “this isn’t intended but theirs little we can do to stop it due to XY and Z” we don’t.

It’s clear to you = your interpretation.

Others may differ.

can they solve the problem with a flick of switch ? If so why not etc that’s cause for debate for sure.

Are their unforeseen factors or difficulties that prevent them from doing so ? We don’t know until they say.

Are the new religions of space a go between to solve the problem partly ? Again we don’t know .

I get that you have an opinion on the matter as do many but until it’s clarified with a post or email from the Devs we all “know” as much as eachother.

They can.

They’ve shown they can, and did it in Exordium.

Which is why I asked for your interpretation, but you deflect.

Yea, the difficulty of removing ganking from High Sec space is that it boosts AFK mining and AFK hauling gameplay, removes interaction, playstyles, counterplaystyles, drops hauling income, miner income, makes the game boring and bland and a whole lot of other issues.

But nothing prefents FC from removing ganks from HS besides common sense.

No this shows they can create a new pocket of space . With different rules .

I think that’s a go between .

Creating new and altering decade long existing space are two very different things.

Our interpretation are moot. We are not Devs we know as much as eachother .

What we think is different from what we know for certain if that makes sense

Personal opinion on gameplay style that you don’t enjoy but others might . Nothing more nothing less . Adds no point the convo.

Last part is purely speculation, you don’t know if Devs can or cannot do that without causing unforeseen issues .

From our interaction here I personally think my interpretation is more accurate than yours, as you don’t seem to base your interpretation on observations and logic while I attempt to do so.

If I made errors with my logic and observations, please point that out, but repeatedly calling out that ‘we are not devs’ as if you only listen to authority without regards for good arguments suggests me you aren’t used to draw your own conclusions based on your own observations and logic, only on feelings and what someone else with more authority tells you.

What a load of nonsense.

PvP in highsec has existed for 23 years since EVE began…in a game that took 4 years before that to develop. 27 years ! EVE has existed in one form or another longer than half the people who play it…and you’re telling me that in all that time the Devs didn’t notice there was PvP going on in highsec despite the fact that they built in a Concord response system and system security levels BASED on PvP in highsec ?
