Suicide in highsec, senseless and merciless

You appeal to the developers as the last resort. This is a bad method of argument. You need to appeal to the ethics accepted among people. The developers could have created an unethical game, which is what we are seeing.

There surely is betrayal and theft. Just do a little historic research on how the at one time mightiest alliance Band of Brothers has fallen.
Betrayal, espionage, theft…all is very valid in this game…because it is a game.
As you might find out, CCP did not reinstate Band of Brothers and compensate for the trillions of losses that a betrayal caused.

You can adhere to your ethics as much as you want and live by it. And of course find and play with others who share the same ethics. But you will never be able to force it on the whole population of Eve. That would be CCPs job by changing mechanics or rulesets.

They did not restore the losses because they had no right to do so. Because they themselves stated that it was possible to do so in the game. Such a statement was initially a mistake, since it encourages unethical actions. Is it possible to impose ethics by force? Yes, of course. In many countries, this is exactly what they do. How do I feel about it? Rather negatively, but the alternative is even worse. We don’t have time for people to realize the error of their ways.

If you think the game is unethical you don’t have to play it. I don’t think it’s unethical so I have no problem playing it and let each person decide for themselves.
It’s been around for 22 years. If there were ethics problems with the game they would have been addressed quite a few years ago.

These problems existed in 2011, and they still exist. I wrote about this in my very first post. Should I leave the game? I have already left it for a long time. You may like it for some reasons, and not like it for others. I like space games, and I don’t see any alternatives to this game. It’s funny that in one browser MMO I saw what EVE will come to. One big power block, and a complete impossibility of competition

It’s true. There aren’t so many good space games. No Man’s Sky and the X4 series come close but they aren’t multiplayer games.

Which one?

There is no way to tell what EVE will be like in 5, 10 or 15 years.

There’s a colossal memorial dedicated to corpses found in the game.

Fictional Movies are also played by real people. Actors can act as the good guy protagonist but in real life they are jerks and members of satanic ped0 cults like in Hollywood. Our actions in-game good or bad doesn’t necessary reflect the players personality in RL.

No, that’s not the right example. Movies tell a fictional story. MMO RPGs have interactions between real people, like in real life. Like the chat we’re talking in right now. I can behave unethically in the chat or in the game. A ganker who kills you isn’t telling a story that someone made up.

you need to stop conflating real life, with the game.. the game was created so you could be the biggest asshole if you wanted.. EVE is meant to be dark, gritty, unethical, piracy, evil. No other game is similar to EVE in that a lot of what gets you banned from video games, is perfectly OK to do in EVE online.

The MMO community is no different from any other community. For example, from a group on social networks. What is unethical there is unethical in the game. You repeat the same wrong argument over and over again that the game is not life. But Facebook is not life either. The chat we are communicating in now is not real life either. Your persistence is worthy of better use. The laws of ethics did not arise out of nowhere. They are connected with the necessity of survival of a group of animals, and then of people. Yes, ethics operates even among animals, if you did not know. Therefore, what the game offers us is unnatural in the truest sense of the word.

If you do something unethical in a community, you are preventing the entire community from surviving. It sounds paradoxical, but it is true. You are preventing all players without exception, making their lives a little worse.

If that was true, the entire population of this planet would have been dead 10,000 years ago…

Here is the problem again, that you confuse yourself if you cut important and meaningful parts of terms. As already stated above, EVE is an MMORPG
The RPG stands for Roleplaying in case you don’t know.
I can decide to play a nasty pirate, a psychopath, an emperor. I can go to war. I can manipulate the market. I can chose not to answer you when you convo me. I can decide i will suicide kill all guys convoing me and write them a letter where i tell them the reason was that they convoed me and it was their fault.

I can do anything i want that is within the limits given by CCP, because it is the RPG sandbox game designed for it.

From what I wrote above it follows that an unethical community is self-destructive to itself. Hence all the problems of EVE. As for your remark, it is unsubstantiated. Humanity survived precisely because of ethical standards.

You can play any role. Everyone’s life will be a little worse, but overall, society will survive. If everyone plays such psychopathic roles, society will fall apart. Literally everything will disappear: the economy, trade, corporations. There will be total chaos. Societies of psychopaths do not survive.

Imagine, yes. It was once ethical. The level of development of society was appropriate. The higher the level of development of society, the less of these phenomena.

Trust me i have my own handy multiboxed fleet of psychopaths and they even have formed a society. They are doing very well. And this is also an aspect why you can’t compare this to any real life thing. To multibox is not a concept of reallife. You don’t even have to speak to other people ingame or interact with them apart from market transaction and killing them. You can play the game single and be successful.

Also anywhere else there is no single society in EVE. Not even in Highsec. It is divided into the 4 fractions that are all supposed to hate each other in some form or consider others as slaves. War are being fought between the empires.
