Looking forward to Team Talos going back to regular, bi-weekly improvements to the game now that they are done with the CRAB feature! HINT HINT CCP project managers
I have to say that I find this portion of this patch extremely worrying:
Capsuleers now have a reserve of Complex Encryption Qubits (CEQs).
CEQs are used when initiating a link to the CONCORD Rogue Analysis Beacon.
Over time CEQs will regenerate back to their full reserve, and the regeneration is always ongoing and not attached to server downtime.
The time for a full regeneration of CEQs is approximately 22 hours.
As CEQs are only required by the CRAB, your current reserves will be visible in a tooltip on mouse-over of the CRAB in your inventory
Right now it doesnāt affect me much, but if this kind of mechanic expands beyond a very niche activity then that will cause me to think about whether itās time to āWinā EVE, despite having been here since 2004.

Hey, I know people are debating about whether or not offshoring is good for the game or not, however my biggest complaint with it is the extra clicking. I post up in jita, as I still sell from there, and instead place remote buy orders in the TTT. The problem is that I have to do a bunch of clicking to do it.
- right click on the current location
- select āselect stationā
- type ātā
- select āTranquility Trade Towerā from autocomplete
- press okay
Iāve enjoyed this past 3 months, not just for the tax break, but for the reduced clicking involved (because Iāve been buying from the station I was sitting in). And going back to all that extra clicking makes me wish that āremember settingsā would remember the default location of your buy and sell orders.
Or maybe have a drop down box with favorited locations. That way it would only be 2 clicks to select your station. So, I guess thereās different ways you could do it, but fewer clicks would certainly be nice.
Anyway, the tax changes benefit my trading style because I update my trades a lot more often than other traders. However, I have heard other traders, such as Oz, mention how much they liked tax changes that discouraged the 1 isk war. Of course, I think there are good arguments for both sides of the debate, but Iām extremely reluctant to say that a change that encourages/benefits bot aspirant behavior is the best choice for the game. So, IDK.
you can only run 3 per day, Per characterā¦ :ā)
Hey,
There appears to be a kind of exploit with these sites.
People are spawning the sites in ore anomalies / belts and running them in rorquals so they can use panic to render themselves invulnerable.
You said that people had to risk something to do thisā¦ I assume this was not intended?
Are you going to fix this?
go to support.eveonline.com and submit a request to have it looked at.
Hello Guys,
From what Iāve read, this is clearly one failed release with content no better than lvl 5 missons (lowsec) and basic anom carrier ratting (Null).
I beleive that everyone that wanted to do these sites were interested in mostly the Mutaplasmid and Office drops, but the current drop rates and Income does not justify using capital in the current environment. If CRAB couldbe anchored my non capitals, then yes, this is perfectly viable, but instead of shooting two birds with one stone, you missed both birds, and the stone was a twig.
What could be done is:
-
make officer spawn rate 100%, one officer spawn per āsiteā at the end of the site.
-
each office spawn as a small % to increase its tier (Thanatos vs Nyx vs Squid)
-
the bounty on the officers should be increased slightly wih
Thannatos = 25 mils
Nyx = 50 mils
Squid = 75 mils -
Each officer should have 100% drop rate for:
Thanatos = 1 Sentient module + 1 Nexus Chip (Astero Only)
Nyx = 1 Sentient module (+ chance of multiple sentient drops) + 1 Nexus Chip (Stratios Only)
Squid = 1 Sentient module (+ chance of multiple sentient drops) + 1 Nexus Chip (Nestor Only) -
Officer modules should not be a guaranteed drop, its should be low. The drop rate should be
Thanatos = low
Nyx = low+
Squid = low++ -
Each officer should also drop a random number of mutaplasmids from 1 to 3
In its Current status, 1 Muta per āsiteā will not work.
The daily limit should be removed, most groups capable of running these have alts, which circumvents this awful mechaninc, the only thing that this managed to do is to be anyoing.
Anything less than this will turn the content into a niche, and we all know how that is going to end.
Just to provide a little more clarity - there is loot in the CRAB deployable when the site is completed.
You were supposed to make content to draw capis back into space and into danger.
That aint happening if you donāt make it risk / reward appropriate for the build cost of caps.
Nor did anyone ask how many convoluted punishment and boredom mechanics you can pack into a single release.
DBS hasnāt been fixed either so my subscriptions will sadly remain dromant.
Iām sceptical thatās really possible for supers/titans post industry changes.
Well, simply reduce the build cost back to reasonable levels - duhā¦
Ballance issues with the cap umbrella meta have already been adressed by cyno changes and application nerfs.
If CCP does not undo the industry changes we will be left with a two class player base - veterans who own stock piles of caps and new players who canāt afford even one.
And even then the pay out should be higher. Lets not forget j bears can farm up to a billion ISK per hour on their rolled shut safe space islands.
Maybe you should make the npc Market orders for larger batches. A scan gives hundreds to a thousand logs and buy orders are for 112 only so selling them takes a while.
CCP is special. Who had the grand idea to make a huge marker on the map telling everyone where someone is running this site? You basically added C5 ratting to Nullsec but made it arguably more dangerous with (unless the rewards did change massively) less payout.
Weāre looking into this!
While the map does show interference levels, it doesnāt have a direct toggle for CRAB beacons deployed in space. Analyzing the map and comparing ESS bank levels certainly can give a nod to where someone has been running the site - but activating it doesnāt immediately light up the map.
That was the inference I was makingā¦ Reading the rest of your post, I fully agree. Iām anti indy changes and anti DBS at this point. Both just crap on the catch up ability of the new player.
Itās clear what CCP are doing though, inflate build costs to keep people on the treadmill longer. Introduce risk so those with toys lose them and have that longer grind to work through. Extends the life of the product. Itās such an obvious artificial hook that Iāll play no part in it!! Feels exploititive.
No idea why they donāt just introduce super titans, it took 10 years for titans to become common, buy yourself another 10 yearsā¦ Of course that means a commitment to continually drip-feeding new art assets periodically to stave off inflation where theyād much prefer a nice passive income stream (see Hilmar ā'we just want to be the janitorsā quote) so they can work on other games!! I know it, you know it, @CCP_Swift knows it (but would never say!).
With caps being 10 times more expensive while some older players already own stock piles of them the notion of catching up doesnāt even qualify as a bad joke. Who is going to play EVE for 200 years just so they can be as wealthy as Kenneth Feld?
And the DBS is just insulting.
Iāve literally fed my alts into hunters to generate content but CCP thinks telling me my space isnāt dangerous enough to earn a full wage is acceptable behaviour.
Ships are twice as expensive.
Iād literally have to commit to a minimum 3 hours crabbing every day plus over time on weekends to be ISK neutral at the end of a month while my personal kill board is more active then 90% of the j bear corps who visit to play.
And CCP tells me i donāt even deserve 100% āriskā modifier.
We have officially reached a stage where risk aversity isnāt part of the game itās the name of the game and CCP actively punishes peiople for doing anything else.
