I just wanted to make a post to say thanks for making the Gallente Election Campaign event, it was a ton of fun! I played Eve many years ago for a short while, and came back a month ago. I have got set up as a hauler and have been having a blast, but the Election Campaign provided a nice change of pace. I made a ton of money selling stuff in Dodixie (it’s where I dabble in industry), I bought a new destroyer and did the security missions which were a lot of fun actually, surprisingly addictive, and then I went on the Campaign Trail.
The Campaign Trail was something else. When I came to the Capsuleer’s Memorial, I wasn’t expecting it to be real. It was so touching I burst into tears. The other places were really cool too, and for a part of it I was chased by a ganker, it was really exciting! Going to do the campaign trail one more time before the event is over, but slower this time.
Anyway I posted a much shorter version of this in Rookie Help and was asked to post on the forums so here it is, thanks for the event CCP, it was a ton of fun!
I despise it, just like any other sig spamming event. On top of the spam, they also increased the scan difficulty for the Tier 3 data sites so that they require a Tier 4 0.25 AU scan to get 100 %. It’s absolutely garbage again.
Happy for you if you enjoyed it but I would really appreciate if CCP left those people alone who do not intentionally participate in them (ie. chose a side and indicate their participation).
In a way, yes. I am not interested in these grind-events, I am not in a ship to run these data sites and thus I do not benefit from them, but I still have to scan them.
You cannot even properly use them for PVP because CCP with their invisible decloak objects in these sites made it impossible to sneak up to ships hacking the one container.
I would be far less frustrated with the event if they would drop the sig class for these sites to Tier 2. That way, I could easily scan them in one sweep and ignore them. Then I would also not mind the spam. However, CCP made it intentionally or unknowingly harder to scan these sites in this event compared to other sig spammers like Crimson Harvest.
Ok, well I am sorry it interfered with your business, maybe CCP can adjust their events in future so they do not disrupt normal scanning activities. Thanks for your replies
I didnt find it incredibly fun for that matter….but i did it anyway on two accounts. I just wanted the plex and the few items that i could sell on the market.
I grinded level 1 missions to finish them. It may have taken a couple hours on each account.
If i wanted improvements then the rewards themselves could use a boost, but other than that…it was something to change the pace.

I also enjoyed the event and in fact I’m still enjoying it… So far I’ve completed the Campaign Trail, Exploration and Security tasks… I’m now currently half way through the Mining task and am looking forward to CCP extending the event points and adding another reward prize for the last week of the event..
Hopefully when CCP does that, they’ll also renew the Political and Presidential Favor rewards in all of the event tasks…
I don’t usually participate in the events, however, I usually find a part of it to enjoy, this time around its the drone fabricators, I know the crimson harvest scanning was bonkers, but wasn’t active at that time, I can understand an aversion to having to scan these down completely, but it hasn’t affected me too bad, could be that my scanning setup is bling tho.
I hate to undermine this touching moment, but most of those cans aren’t players who died IRL, they’re just random corpses scooped up from all over. I’ve spotted myself four times in the graveyard over the years.
So far I’ve completed the Campaign Trail, Exploration, Security and Mining tasks… The only task I’ve got any issue with is the Mining task.. It just takes way too long to complete compared to the other tasks… A brand new player will pretty much spend the entire duration of the Event just completing that task… In my opinion it should have been set up like the Winter Nexus Mining task…
I started the task in my Prospect Expedition Frigate which was taking about 45 minutes to fill it’s 12,500 m3 Ore Hold… Despite being max skilled using an optimum fit, I could only field 1x Mining Lazer due to needing DPS protection… I already knew it was taking way too much time before I even started part 3 of the 5 part Mining task…
After finishing part 3, I quickly swapped to a Pioneer Consortium Issue Mining Destroyer which made a really big difference… Despite having a 10,000 m3 Ore Hold, I was able to field 3x Mining Laser along with DPS protection and basically complete the last 2 parts of the task within 6 hrs…
Other than that, I think the actual Event time period is a bit too long as well… After finishing 2 1/2 different Event tasks, the Agency point spread was completed…
Anyway, along with all of the Agency Event rewards, I now have 600x Political Favor and 4x Presidential Favor… Now I’m thinking about maybe doing the Event Homefront task…
Agreed. I tried it one time I happened to be awake shortly after DT and found some Scordite. I’ve only completed tier 1 on mining, and even that took longer than I would have liked. But I think that for actual miners this isn’t a big deal, it’s only a problem for players who don’t mine. So, maybe it’s not an issue at all. I probably won’t get to complete the mining challenges. I’d rather run the Campaign Trail again with low points.
It will be more interesting to see how this event will end up affecting mineral prices.
Disagree on this. It’s not about how fast you can complete the track, but it is more about giving everyone a chance to take part and complete it. Not everybody can run the event in the first or even the second week. People who play EVE have jobs, relationships, families. They deserve to get to pick the time that suits them best, not be forced to have to hustle to get to do it. And some guys wanna do it when the atmosphere is more relaxed, which is not the case in the first week. A month feels perfectly okay time frame to me.
Yeah, that’s true but I think 3 weeks would have been just fine for this event… Mainly because each task gives a lot of points which quickly completes the Agency point spread… I basically had the point spread done after completing 2 1/2 tasks… The only reason I completed more tasks was to gain more Political and Presidential Favors…
