Yes some pirates are not honorable. If you get caught, and they try to ransom you, that they won’t honor the agreement is something you need to take in mind.

BTW everything has two sides. About a month ago I ransomed 30mil from some noob mining in Retriever in lowsec to let him go. I did honor the deal and let him go after he sent the money. And then he started mocking me and insulting me in local chat. And that is not first time this has happened to me…
