Maybe in two or three decades, when we are advanced enough to have passable androids, we could create whole artificial families for these people to doxx, rape, and murder.
Imagine you blow up someone’s video game spaceship (if that’s not outlawed by then), and they start railing and making real life threats at you, and demanding to know where you live. So you give them the address to the fake android family living in a staged house, and they fly over there and do their thing, while you’re completely safe half the world away.
We could probably save the airline industry with the traffic that would create!

I want to be clear on this.
It is a very important component of EVE Online. Anyone who says that ganking has to go needs to have his head checked. It’s one of the most exciting part of the game, for both the ganker and the gankee.
I don’t have a clear picture of what everybody calls a “playstyle”, that compound word seems weird to me but maybe because English isn’t my first language.
As far as being acceptable to gank another player while keeping with the game rules I say… why the hell not?
I’m not an expert on gameplay mechanics. I don’t know EVE that well at all. I just started the Soldier of Fortune agent ( lmfao! ) but then again, I’m taking my sweet time. I get sidetracked easily and this game has so much to look at, read on and understand that I don’t care if people make fun of me, I play at my pace.
If PvP is removed from anywhere in the game I will quit… after posting a long rant on the forum that will be locked within 3 posts lol
Too bad. They shouldn’t fly what they can’t afford.

“Playstyle” is an abstract concept. Much like in the world of fashion – the sum of all your clothes in a wardrobe point to your personal style of fashion, even if indescribable – and all clothes basically carry out a core function: to not be exposed to the elements (sun, rain, etc). Every single human being could have the same preferences and aesthetic tastes that lead us all to dress ourselves in garbage bags held together by duct tape to achieve this. But we’re all different humans, from different backgrounds, and different approaches in life. So we approach clothing differently, some things do naturally become popular, hence fashion style.
“Play style” is no different. Eve has a common set of rules we all play the game by. We could all be duct-taped garbage-bag wearing humans and do the exact same things in the game as every other human being. But we’re all different and enjoy different aspects of Eve. Some people mine more than others. Some sit at gates for hours waiting for prey to jump through. Others track Supers for months before springing a trap. Same game, same rules, but each person’s personal preferences leads to a particular style of Eve Online play. Some game play approaches CCP tries to create mechanics and incentives to guide (or force) players to make a style popular; other styles players find appealing for their own reasons.
This was a long way of saying Ax’l’s comment:
Is more about “is it [socially, culturally] acceptable by the Eve Online playerbase for some of its members to mostly approach the game via ganking?” History says yes (or else ganking would have been removed from the rules from the get-go within the first 10 years) but – and what follows is my opinion – there are some persistent minority voices that wish to revise history and paint the picture as “no because the ganking of now is not the same ganking as of 10 years ago” (which is an elegantly deceptive equivocation).
